I've never met a more dishonest Company!! This is NOT the 2 men & Truck I hired 18 years ago. Broke my Bed frame by trying to move the bed without removing headboard and mattresses! Damaged a new wall. Overcharged for fuel and one of the 2 men was having withdrawals by profusely sweating all over my furniture to a point he had the sit down for awhile. They weren't answering their phone so I blocked my number before I called this last time and when they answered I let the girl know I needed to speak to the manager. The entire team was very professional and did a wonderful job. It was a unique job with a number of challenges--to remove a large glass kiln from a wooden shipping crate in our garage and take it into the house and down a basement. VERY DISAPPOINTING! The first day Two Men & A Truck arrived to box up for my move there was absolutely no leadership. I showed all six young men what I wanted to be done, but no one identified themselves as a leader of the packing. This was immediately evident when I almost stepped on a large tack (for leveling my night table) that had been left in the doorway of my bedroom. I asked the person who was packing a bathroom what this was doing on the carpet and why it wasn't with the night table he claimed he was, "not responsible, not my problem, I had nothing to do with it, don't know!" Finally, two of the other men arrived and said they'd put the item in the tool kit so when they arrived at the new location they'd have it. Did they use it and replace it? Well,the next paragraphs we tell you. I asked them to get to my new location on the second day by 2:30 PM. Before they started on the 2nd day I asked to identify a leader so I could show him what I wanted. This made it easier for me to determine who to speak to. Although it didn't necessarily help with the results. At 3:15 the crew finally arrived at my condo, leaving me only 15 minutes to explain where I wanted things. It probably wouldn't have mattered since over half the boxes had no labeling and there was no way to know which boxes went into which rooms. I'm still unable to locate measuring cups, frying pans, coffee cups, and tin foil because they didn't identify what's in the boxes. I found coffee cups in picture boxes. Most of the packing seemed random as if they didn't know where to put things so they just simply packed it into a box and thus, why label it - It didn't fit anywhere anyway! Because my basement wasn't finished, we agreed to load my remaining office, son's bedroom, and entertainment room furniture in my garage which my contractor had cleaned out the day before. This turned into a disaster due to 2 Men and a Truck's disorganization. Again Still haven't found measuring cups, coffee cups, and kitchen items. I hope they're somewhere in the garage in an unmarked box. read more

In 2022 they broke so much! Sent 3 people but two were skinny kids who could not do the heavy lifting! The other guy walked around with his computer pad! MOVING OUT 1. BROKE THE bottom resting stand on a two piece armoire 2. Dropped the top of armoire and one corner was cracked. 3. Broke one leg of a casual chair. 4. Drug a king mattress on the asphalt 5. 5. Drug / tore corner of a Queen base 6. Damaged our new refrigerator because these kids ( not trained) could not figure out how to move a new refrigerator ( thru the same door that Menards movers moved it in)! Ice maker and door and seal were damaged! Damaged door frame! 7. Damaged ceiling second floor, damaged stair rail and steps in two areas moving a queen bed base. MOVING IN 1. Damaged door frames, scratched corners, walls! I could go on! THE INSURANCE APPARENTLY DID NOT EXIST! NOT INSURED! Thought we had it / paid for it! But when it came time to file a claim - they REFUSED to give us the info we needed to file a claim. Again the third guy who walked around with his computer tablet said the insurance would cover any damages! But NO! We were Treated poorly by them! Just make sure you ask for proof of insurance, get the paperwork before they come out and read it! FINALLY, we made reservations months ahead because we are planners! They knew what we had! They Sent two kids untrained, inexperienced kids to do grown men work! The kids pooped out after moving a few things! Did not realized the extent of damage moving out until the next few days while getting things in order! read more

I'd like to start by saying that the two movers who moved my belongings were quick and efficient. BUT the company is a GIANT RIP OFF. They called me at 8:40am to say they were on their way. They did not arrive until 9:20-9:25am. The time clock for their hourly fee STARTS WHEN THEY CALL YOU. I effectively paid almost $200 ($150 for the hourly fee + a $40 travel fee). I paid $190 before they even moved a piece of furniture or arrived on site. When I called to set up I was told they charge $150/hour for two guys. At no time did anyone say the clock starts for the hourly fee when they call to say they are on their way. Further, they sent me an email estimate--no where in any written correspondence that I received from this company does it state that the time clock for the $150 begins when they start driving to my location. This is an extreme case of poor communication and the very definition of HIDDEN FEES. How is it right for them to charge their rate of $150 for moving when they are not at my location and have not moved a thing. Further, they charge a $40 travel fee--so you charge your hourly rate and a travel fee before you've arrived on site? Ridiculous and a waste of money. Please choose any other company. Finally, I'd just like to say it took these two guys less than 2 hours to load my truck. They arrived around 9:25 (actually started moving items at 9:38am) and completed filling the truck at 11:10am). I should have paid $300 (plus $40 travel fee). Instead I paid over $500. When I called the company to ask about the charge for the travel time I was told how I came in way under estimate and that they "removed" the insurance so I saved money. They did not remove the insurance, because I did not load onto one of their trucks I did not have to pay for insurance--nice try. I wish I could give zero stars. read more

I have to be honest, I was sorely disappointed with the service that I received. In my initial email I was told that the movers would arrive from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. They did not arrive at my First address until 11:15 AM, after multiple calls to them and to the main office. When I finally reached the driver (after being sent to voicemail, twice) he said he would be there within 15 minutes. This turned out to be untrue and he ended up being, in total, 45 minutes late. I thought this should be a speedy move, given I only needed a few items relocated. Their tardiness made me miss a follow up appointment for my oral surgery but luckily we are family friends with the surgeon and I was able to bump it to later this afternoon. While they were quick in the removal of my items from the first property to the next, I still found the service disappointing. While very gracious and apologetic they did have a lack of sincerity in their exchanges with me. The movers finally wrapped up just before 12:45 PM, when filling out the paperwork, they had no recollection of when they initially got to my first place and when they had arrived at my new home. I kindly had to remind them of their arrival and departure times. I thought this was something they would be diligent about keeping track of since they are paid in 15 minute increments of their time. Additionally, they were struggling with the math of the cost of my move and I had to offer assistance and a calculator to help them complete their work. I was also astounded that I had to remind them to remove my coffee table from the truck before leaving. I thought it wouldn't be too difficult to remember since I only had 7 items moved. After that they had the gall to ask if I wanted to tip them for their services... From the initial email being addressed as Angie instead of my given name, to the occurrences during my move, I can't say I'm throughly impressed. The intent of hiring two men and a truck was to make my recovery from oral surgery and my transition from one home to the next, much easier. It felt much more burdensome than helpful to me. When I called to tell the office about my poor service, my call was sent to voicemail three times when I finally spoke to a person they said a manager would call me back and they have yet to do so... I would NOT recommend two men and a truck under any circumstances. They were sloppy, unorganized and unprofessional. read more

I wish I would have read the other reviews first. I had 2 sets of movers. The first did a decent job and were nice but one smelled as though he had gone to the bathroom in his pants and that smell lingered throughout my home. The other talked so much that the move took significantly longer than needed and I was helping so we could get done. The second set of movers were equally as nice but complained about the company the entire time. Then a manager showed up so the rest of the move was very awkward. The move took so much longer overall than planned and there was no communication from the office to the movers. Multiple items were damaged during both moves. We were disappointed with this company on 16th Ave SW. Whatever you do, don't use them! There are so many good companies out there that will do a good job for you! They broke 2 pieces of furniture (major pieces) and we have yet to receive any reimbursement and that was on August 1st and it is now Sept 15th! They used wardrobe boxes for the clothes and threw all the clothes in the bottom of them and of course when we opened them at our destination they were all wrinkled! You don't need that on top of moving. We are in our 80's and it was a terrible experience for us. read more

The crew recently helped my 87-year-old mother-in-law in taking away an old washer and dryer. There were problems with disconnecting the washer and the crew called in a supervisor who then helped my mother-in-law find a plumber. They went above and beyond what was expected. We knew to contact them because they were extremely helpful, efficient, and courteous when they helped her move two years ago. read more

Not thrilled. We had 2 guys show up to move me complaining that it was supposed to be their day off. Then, they came without tools to help take apart my bed frame. They took way longer than estimated and felt like they took breaks between every item. Moving these items up to the 3rd floor took my other movers only 1 hour. taking it down took 2 men in a truck 2 hours. not impressed. over priced and not pleasant people. we have called day in and day out trying to speak with manager and nobody answers. pathetic way to own a business. don't use cedar rapids location for your moving services. oh and my couches are ripped so that's nice too! totally unhappy with the service and will NOT recommend them to anyone. read more

I've had three bad experiences with these guys -- only the first was my choice. They do not respect your belongings. Arrive late leave early and leave things undone. I caught one reading the titles of my books as he leisurely packed them without even paying attention to sizes. The day after a 100 year snow storm...facing sub zero wind chills the next morning the three man crew showed up early & bright-eyed; eager to tackle this 2nd story move. Everything went very smooth and I appreciate all their hard work and help. From the initial contact, the in-office estimate, and very reasonable pricing from supplies to service all was excellent. They took great care when moving delicate items by wrapping them as to not be damaged. Hiring a third person vs. 2, or however many is highly recommended. 1) It cuts down on the fatigue factor where injuries could occur; this is NOT an easy job 2) The time saved/cost benefit is pretty much a wash. They also provide the customer with very specific instructions a 4th grader should understand. So, if are unable to locate items it is more than likely your own irresponsible fault. Be well prepared and stay out the way. Clearly label your boxes and what room you would like them. read more

We moved to Cedar Rapids on one of the coldest days of the year, Feb. 13th 2015. Earlier in the day, I dad fallen off the car transport due to icy footing and was cut up pretty bad. I bandaged heavily, wrapped the bandages in a thick layer of paper towels and went to my local clinic. They told me I needed to go to the hospital immediately. Well, I knew that would eat up 3-4 hours minimum and I would miss the movers. So my daughter and I just headed out on our 3 hour trek to Iowa from Illinois. We had an appointment set to meet the movers at our new apartment at 1 pm and I arrived at 12:30 to sign leasing papers. When finished, we headed to our apartment and waited for the movers...outside since we live in a security building and I had no cell phone. At 1:15, we asked the leasing office to call the movers and get an ata. We were told they were on their way and would be there in 10-15 minutes. We went back and waited. At 1:45, we called again from the leasing office again and we were told they would be there by 2pm. So we went back and waited...outside. At 2:30 we called again and we were told they were running behind but they were on their way and would be there in 10-15 minutes. We went back again to wait outside. At 3, we called for the 4th time and customer service said they were on their way and be there at 3:15. The movers finally showed up at 3:30. When they did show up, they said they tried calling us, but I told them we spoke to their office 4 times. When I asked them to set up the beds, all the one guy did was complain about it. He was having trouble matching up pieces and said "This is why we don't like to set up beds". When I asked about some deep scratches on my beds headboard that weren't there before, he conveniently blamed the movers that loaded the truck. After another 3.5 hours later, I was given a bill for $367.50. I asked for a discount due to being late and it was refused. I gave no tip. A couple days later, I got an email from Sean Sanford who had heard about my experience. He apologized, but reiterated what the movers said that they tried to contact me throughout the day. I emailed him back, told him the whole story and reminded him I had contact with their office 4 times between 1:15 and 3:15. I also mentioned that a discount would have been appreciated. Sean still has not responded to my email. As soon as I dropped off the truck, I went directly to the ER and just as I thought, I was there for about 4 hours. Now, if I can make it to my appointment after incurring a pretty serious injury and living 3 hours away with just my daughter by my side and be on time, why can't Two Men and a Truck be on time, or at least have accurate arrival times. And why in the world was I expected to pay full price for their unsatisfactory service? Would I ever recommend Two Men and a Truck to anyone? Not a chance. Darron read more
