Not a happy customer, I know my doodle gets matted but no reason his privates are burned and look like call 2 red apples...ive beem applying cold compresses and coconut oil continously and now know 100 percent these were burns from rhe way they are healing...soo sad and my poor baby so uncomfortable..I called to let shop know a d instead of getting comfirt and advice, I get excuses and told thats why I sign matting sign off ....rudiculous...I didnt call fir excuses , I called for help... This is the only place I'd take my dogs. They treat them with love and care and are very attentive and accommodating. The establishment is bright, pretty and clean. The staff is friendly, helpful and honest with what is needed with my dogs. My dogs are very comfortable each time they arrive. I started with my first dog ( she is no longer with us) at their original location and followed them after they moved to the new location with my two latest dogs, Jet and Wolfie. Just relocated to Addison and my landlord highly recommended this groomer. I just brought in my two dogs and could not he happier!! I have a 14 year old Shih Tzu, Fionna Apple who is very challenging to groom due to fear & anxiety and Cherisse did an AMAZING job with her!! Fionna bit poor Cherisse a few times and she was so incredibly patient & understanding. I also have a 10 year old teacup Yorkie named Laci who looks just as great as Fionna! I have been taking my girls to the same groomer for 9 years and needed a new groomer now that I have moved an hour away and I am so happy that I found Two Paws Up! There's no doubt that the groomers here love dogs but they need to learn some dematting skills.... I've been taking my puppy (a shitzu/poodle mix) here for baths every 2 weeks and haircuts every 6-8 week....religiously.... for the past 6 months or so. There were 2 appointments I missed, due to death in my family..... first my grandma then my aunt :-( And both times when I went back, the groomers were bent on shaving my dog down to his skin ALL OVER because he had a FEW scattered matted hair. The first time I let it slide but the second time I decided I'm taking my puppy somewhere else..... A PLACE WHERE THEY CAN WORK WITH A FEW MATTED HAIR!!! I got a dematting tool and brushed him out myself in less than 1/2 hour. His hair wasn't even that long. These groomers are not professional! Looks like I'm a better dog groomer than these so called dog grooming professionals. Utterly disappointed!!! And happy to take my business elsewhere! I'm SHOCKED this place has 4 stars!!!! Cherise gives me great advice for my dog that I wouldn't of never thought of. I really appreciate that because it shows that they really care for their dogs. I have a yorkie named Louie that just turned 5. We used to take him to Yuppie Puppy in Schaumburg on Roselle Road and that was a mistake. For the 3.5 years that I took Louie to Yuppie Puppy, Cheryl, the owner, would always tell me how hard it was for her to cut his hair. That he was aggressive, he would bite her, etc. Remind you, this is not the character of my dog at all. I often thought about taking Louie to another groomer but didn't want to make it more traumatizing for him if he did have a hard time getting his haircut. At least he was familiar with Cheryl and maybe gradually he would be more accepting of the process. The last time I picked Louie up from Yuppie Puppy he seemed normal but then when we got home I saw bruises on his chest. I called the animal hospital to see if I should bring him in to get checked. I was really worried and concerned about Louie and was so angry with Yuppie Puppy. I knew I had to find a new groomer to take Louie. I was referred to Two Paws Up by my boyfriends sister. They do a really great job cutting his hair even and they follow directions. If you want your dog to have a yorkie face, shorter body and shorter legs they will do it. When I first took Louie there, I explained the situation that had gone on at Yuppie Puppy. The lady was very nice and said that she would work with Louie. When we picked him up she said that Louie was fine and that he didn't like to have his back legs cut but that it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. They do a fantastic job with my dogs here, I have a bichon and a yorkie mix. They even remembered both my dogs after just one time (they do have some unique names though). They do a great job, for an even better price. I can't believe they charge what they do for what you receive. I have been using the services of these wonderful groomers for about eight years. They treat my pups like their own. I have three dogs, so each of them have their favorite to groom. They have all become family to me and I appreciate the special care that they give to every animal they groom. I use their services every four weeks and highly recommend Two Paws Up. I found this groomer through an online search when another nearby groomer lost my business because they were rude and ignorant (see Eclipse review). I was able to get in the next day and Sherise (the employee who answered the phone) was very understanding when I said I was bringing my senior mother's dogs in and that one has a spinal issue. When she discovered that new construction was impeding entrance to the parking lot she called me and told me so I would not be inconvenienced. The owner Ana was just as gracious and loving. They took extra special care of the two dogs knowing that it was a stressful experience for both the dogs and my Mom, and the dogs were happy as clams when I picked them up. I would not, and have not taken my girls anywhere else since day one. I have been coming to Two Paws Up for 13 yrs now. They treat them the same as their own. My 1st Baby girl Dumpling Loved Anna as much as she loved me. She was always so happy to go there. I rescued my Lily and Starla 6 yrs ago as a bonded pair. Ana and Cherisse recognize this, and have always taken the extra steps to accommodate their time with them. One of my girls recently turned blind, and as it is an adjustment for her and me, Ana and Cherisse again handled this change with her special needs grooming 100%. Even after 13 years they always ask me what I want done, and if I would need any kind of change they would be happy to do it. I believe it is from their Heart they have always been Happy to take those extra steps to accommodate my girls and me. The best dog groomers in the area! We bring our Siberian Husky and Shetland Sheepdog there for grooming 4/5 times year and they always do a great job! I cannot tell you how hard it was to find a decent grooming salon for our dogs near Itasca; and its such a blessing that I can trust the ladies here @ Two Paws to take care of and properly groom my animals. Two Paws Up is the worst I have ever seen. I would bring them home after grooming. They would be shaved to close in their arm pits and behind their ears. So they said that she would adjust the razor. Well the owner Ana went on vacation and she left her so called manager in charge. Well my one dog was chopped like the pomerian in one of the reviews. My other dog was cut to close. When Ana came back from her vacation,I made appointments for my dogs.I told Ana my one dog had a mole on his head and to be careful. Low and behold ,his mole was cut half way off. Brought him to the vet where they put him under and put a stich in. My other dog was shave again so close he had to have antibiotic cream put on every till healed. These are our babies. Shame on you for hurting them. read more
