Grooming- I was so thankful that they have Amanda as a manager in the grooming room, she was able to get our dog Lily to relax and trust her to allow her needed grooming. This is my local pet supply store for my family furbabies Maltese toy dogs :) We have been going here for 9 years... The place is attached to a strip mall so there's plenty of parking. The place is clean and workers are friendly and helpful. They have pet events here so check out their calendar. They have a grooming area for both full service and a self washing for your pets. We bring our babies here for their full grooming, we love their staff so caring for them when we leave them. Their assorted foods for your pet is pretty extensive both big companies to local ones. You can also ask them if they carry your particular brand which we did often. They also have good sales and if you sign up their free membership you get coupons in the mail and email which we use a lot as we feed our pups raw meals which can get a bit pricier. I like the store but the grooming is no a go for me and mini golden doodle. They have cancelled multiple times and for some reason I try to give them another chance and this last time just annoyed me. I made an appt for a bath and added the doodle package. She called me a couple hours later to confirm my appt. Which was 10 days away. Then stated that if puppy was matted or had knots we would have to reschedule his appt. If I'm paying almost $100 for a bath, brush and doodle package plus tip what does it matter of he is a couple knots? Yes I understand did my dog was matted or knotted then it would be an additional charge which should be stated instead of saying I would have to reschedule his appt. For this reason it was final straw with store. Accept pets for who they are. FYI... did not book anything with matted fur. I booked a bath and brush with the doodle package. read more

We held a pet event at this store recently for New Start Dog Rescue and I can't say enough about the wonderful staff. The Manager, Avelina, had tables already set up for us. They provided some sample treat bags and even donated out-dated doggy outfits. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating. This location is by far the best and we always choose pet supplies plus over petco that's not too far from them. We buy all our treats and food there and can't forget the toys and any other essentials we need for our pup! the employees are always so professional and nice :) I tried the curbside pickup the other day and it was fast, easy and convenient and I even got a little discount from the promotion they were running that weekend! The staff is so friendly and the online pickup is extremely quick. In general you usually have the products in stock compared to a competitor who is way closer to my home. You personally call to let me know if something I've ordered that wasn't t available and apologizes. I was also quite impressed with the groomers, i have a special needs dog that is extremely frightened. They would accommodate me to come in as a first appts to keep her stress under threshold and invited us to come in when the stores opens i just to have her try and walk around to help desensitize her. read more

Who has been to any retail store and asked for something, and right away you are told the same "if its not out we don't have it!" Well this is why I .....LOVE love loveeeeeeee this place! Here you ask for something, even if its 10 mins to close they will jump on the ladder and grab you 60lb bag of dog food off the very top shelf and even help carry it if your holding on to your doggies! Let me start off by saying I try my VERY hardest to go to Pet Supplies Plus (any locations) over any other pet store. But this location in particular I really LOVE! It doesn't matter what time you stop in the staff is so friendly and happy to help. You can tell they all enjoy pets and are so sweet to my dogs when they come in. That alone makes me feel happy to drive further to pick up dog food with my little fur babies (that are not babies at all but rather 8 years old..) Another reason I love this location is their clearance section always has good stuff.. although maybe I should keep that my secret... I also love that PSP has a huge verity of food for all animals. My one dog has a yeast allergy, so if your not familiar with that, it is HELL trying to find dry food for her. But PSP carries two companies that have multiple flavors of yeast free food. Helpful Tips: - The discount card at PSP is different then what we are all used to. You must have the actual card if you signed up at a different location. (their systems are not linked up). - Sign up for email coupons, they are always having great sales and deals. - SIGN UP FOR EMAILS, because they also will send you info on cheap vaccinations and animal chipping. - Some locations have groomer and/or areas you can rent to wash your pets. Although I do mine mostly as home.. sometimes its nice in the winter to use theirs because they have dryers. read more

I bought my 8 year old 2 fish on Thursday afternoon. By Friday night both were dead. I came Saturday morning to buy 2 new fish and they told me they currently aren't selling fish because they were sick. Well now it makes sense right? I go to the counter for the refund and the woman tells me "do you happen to have the fish on you?" No I didn't want to carry them in my pocket. "Oh well I need the bodies in order to refund you" Then proceeded to tell me the fish that I bought were not part of the sick group anyway..... As a business manager I can tell you that especially now, customer service has to be #1 priority. It's very apparent this place doesn't have that same mindset. You not only lost my business but a little girl thinks she's responsible for her dead fish. read more

Awful customer service and curbside experiences at this location on multiple occasions, besides the fact they claim 1 hour curbside pick up and it takes hours to fill an order at this location. My first experience after waiting hours to fill the order and I picked it up only to find out I was missing items and they gave me wrong items. My second experience is after confirmation that my order was received and 9 hours later still had not even received an email that it was ready or any contact what so ever stating their may have been an item out of stock, when calling the location on my way there after work to pick up my order I find that they are missing several items from my order, ( which were listed as in stock at the time of the order, and the items that I needed most) at this point I was frustrated that no one attempted to even reach out hours prior, and I didn't call sooner since I was trying to be patient and give the store employees time to do their job and fill the order. After talking to a "manager" I was told someone did call me but my number "didn't connect" and instead of the employee trying to call again or the manager taking responsibility for the situation and trying to rectify it she just placed blame on whoever was there in the morning. I asked them to cancel the order and I wanted my discount code back so I that I could get what I needed from a different location, but they said I would have to call customer service. I was also told by the manger that because they are a Franchise that other then getting an email from cooperate nothing would even come of my complaint. So it just seems like they will continue to keep conducting terrible curbside pickup with missing items and long wait time with no communication clearly not valuing their customers. While calling the cooperate customer care, my phone rang with this locations number, so when I finished my voicemail I called them back only to be put on hold for about 10 min and told that "no one called me" Do not support this location as they clearly don't value communication and customers, spend your hard earned money at a different location or different store all together! Curbside pick up should make your life easier not be a stressful experiences. read more

The store itself is well kept but the dog self wash is always a sloppy mess. The tubs are always clogged, the vacuum hoses always broken, soap jugs empty, and the water too hot which causes our dog to overheat. We have spoken to management on many occasions about this with no resolution or improvement seen. This is unfortunate because it is a newer store and although I am sure they do not make money on the self serve dog wash, I do tend to purchase a toy or treats for my dog after each wash. read more

Not the cheapest when it comes to dog food, and a bit on the grimy side. Despite the fact that it is literally 5 minutes from my house, I will drive to PetSmart in either Bloomingdale or Downer's Grove whenever I need to stock up on pet needs. I literally forget the place even exists. But late one Saturday afternoon, Girlspawn calls in a panic from work to beg me to get crickets for her tarantula since it was going on a month since its last feeding. It was cold outside and I was lazy and didn't want to drive that far since I need need any other pet products. It was then I remembered the store was 5 minutes from my house and ran off to get a dozen crickets. Okay, first off - the cheapest dozen large crickets I have gotten anywhere. A buck even for 'em. A buck even and I didn't have to burn 2 gallons of gas to get them. I get home and go dump 'em in the tarantula tank. Girlspawn gets home and I tell her where I got the crickets from and she tells me she forgot the place existed, too. Turns out, Nancy the tarantula was on a hunger strike or something, and didn't touch the crickets for a few days. In the meantime however, that buck even provided a LOT of entertainment. I don't know from whence Pet Supplies Plus procured their crickets, but they were the chirpiest, most boisterous crickets EVER. And since Nancy the tarantula took days to eat them, Girlspawn had to deal with the incessant chirp-chirp-chirping of those crickets for days. She had to sleep with headphones on, and everyone she Skyped with could hear them. Hell, even downstairs, WE could hear them at their chirpiest and boisterous best. Nancy eventually ate them and all was quiet again. Who knew a buck even could do so much? read more

This is the only pet store I'll shop at for my dog. They have such a great selection of pet foods from the cheap low-end junk food to the best there is to buy (Orijen!). Prices are better than anywhere else I've seen. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always asks if you need help but in an unobtrusive way (unlike Best Buy staff, ick). They have regular low-cost vaccination clinics here regularly too. read more

I'll never shop for food anywhere else. As a big animal lover, I can spend hours in any doggie boutique. This store, albeit not a boutique, makes my list. Not only do they have a wide selection of holistic foods (local brands, too), but they also have an extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. The prices are very low, much lower than Petco or Petsmart, and the selection is much better. This doesn't only apply for food, but toys, accessories, and everything else. The staff is the winning factor, for sure. It seems like every employee has had years of classes about pet nutrition and can give you really good advice on choosing a quality food. Another good point is they donate all expired foods to local shelters instead of throwing the bags out like other stores. The "plus" (or quote marks, as I call it) has great prices and a large selection. Plus, they occasionally do cute little extras, such as a free pull from an Easter basket with toys for your pet. The only downside is the strip mall that the store is in. Cars whiz through the parking lot without paying attention, so you have to be careful if carrying large bags of cat food. read more

I was recommended this place by my little cousin who is a new puppy owner. My dog made 1 year old on 7/14/18 which is when I took him here for his FIRST grooming. I've tried taking him to other places before but he was always so frantic. My dog had at least 5 inches of hair on him. I brought him here and begged Jesus (the groomer)to please try his best to be patient with Harley. I even gave Harley a pep talk to be a good boy and encouraged him that he could do it lol. I walked around the store a little bit and then walked past grooming and Harley was standing on the table like a big boy! I could not believe it. It was just the beginning so I left to go get him a birthday cake. When I came back I sat in the lot until they called. I went inside and OH MY GOD! Harley looked so clean and looked like an entire different puppy! Lol i am so thankful that Jesus was patient with him and was able to work with him without showing any type of frustration. We have been coming here more and more ever since we moved to Villa Park and started getting ADs for Pet Supplies Plus. We finally decided to bring our dog for a nail trim since the last time we took him to the vet they said he was being difficult (he's a puppy) and we needed to take his paws more often so he would be used to it. (He is fine when we grab his paws as we wipe them when he comes in from outside and we sometimes just hold them so he gets used to it and always seems fine with us. Today we learned he responds better to nail grinding/filing as opposed to clipping which I had no idea there was an alternative way) I can't remember both of the names of the women in the grooming area but I do remember one; Angel was super helpful and we will definitely be bringing our dog to the spa services thanks to their patience and kindness with our puppy! read more
