I can't recommend because they can't reply to phone calls. I can give them a day but 5 calls and 5 days is silly. The Barking Lot on Gary and Geneva are no better. If you have enough clients and can't help anyone else then just say closed to new clients. No worries. read more

I had a so-so experience the first and only time I took my dog here for full grooming. I don't remember the length of time I was quoted but if it was 2-4 hours, I waited for 4 hours 15 minutes before calling to see what was going on. I was then told my dog was ready for pick up. This made me question if she had been ready for some time, and they just hadn't called me, although I'm not sure why that would happen. When I went to pick her up, the groomer apologized for the length of time spent. She said that several people brought in their dogs (after my dog arrived) for "quick things" like trimming nails, so she had to stop and do that, then go back to grooming my dog. I was not happy to hear this as my dog does not love getting groomed and should not have had to be there longer to accommodate others. I had made an appointment (was not a walk in) so I feel my dog should have been given priority over these "quick" nail trims or whatever that came in after I had dropped her off. Prices were reasonable/comparable with other places I've gone. She looked and smelled great after. Even though this place is pretty close to me, I opted not to bring her back as the length of time and comments about giving other dogs priority rubbed me the wrong way. read more

We'll never go to another groomer again - Lori is the absolute best! We have a 100lb Bernese Mountain Dog who is a very nervous boy. We've taken him to multiple groomers and have never had the outcome we had at Cut & Cuddle. Lori took the time to make him feel comfortable from the moment we came through the door. The grooming took a little over two hours which is incredible seeing as he's very large and has quite a bit of hair. When we picked him up he wasn't nervous at all, was beautifully groomed, fully dried, and has continued to smell amazing since! Lori even made time for us to pop in for a nail trim with our 6 month old Akita puppy on short notice. One tip - Cut & Cuddle is cash or check only. read more

Love this place! I've been taking my dogs here since 2016 and it's great! Every time I come in, I see pups well taken care of. She seems very respectful of the dogs, too. When my pup seemed to be coming down with something, she was truthful about not wanting to get the other dogs sick. Even though it meant not getting my appointment right then, I was totally happy with the fact that she was concerned for ALL her clients and not just trying to get the money. Her cuts and grooms and always perfect. My pups have always come back happy, looking shiny and clean, well clipped, nails trimmed, wonderful! And my pups always love the place. They're always tail wags and happiness both coming in and leaving. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and it's local which is super awesome! Her rates are pretty decent too! My 150 pound dog was about 120 to groom and he'd gotten pretty matted up. My dog now, who's only about 60 pounds, was around 60 as a puppy and now runs closer to 100, but I get the full grooming package, so to speak. If you're looking for a place for your pup to get groomed and want service, this is definitely it!!! I'll be a customer for life! read more

My very nervous Maltese shih tzu did great here and she came out after 1.5 hours for a full groom looking and smelling great with a cute little bandana. She was not traumatized like she's been at bigger grooming places. We will definitely be back! Be advised, cash or checks accepted only. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!!!!! I would never set foot in this place again. I wish I would have looked up reviews prior to taking my Great Dane in for a bath and nail trim... About a year ago, my Dane and I had outgrown giving her a bath in the shower at home. I looked up groomers in the phone book and found this nightmare of a business. I took my happy go lucky, very cooperative and loving puppy for a spa day... About $100.00 and an entire day of waiting, my pup was ready to be picked up. She was very "out of it" when I picked her up, which is very rare for her. Her tail between her legs, we left and headed home after being hurried out the door... She slept all evening, night and half of the next day. When she finally woke up, I noticed her licking at her leg for a few minutes and when I checked her, I noticed that they cut her entire dew claw off!!!!! The quick was completely exposed, very red and covered in dried blood. $400.00 in vet visits and meds, and I feel terrible that my poor girl had to go through that pain. Waiting for her nail to grow back was awful for her and I both. All of this and she didn't even smell like she had a bath when I picked her up. She smelled like dirty wet dog!! Terrible experience. Just terrible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Annnnnnnd the best part of posting my honest review is all of the daily phone calls from this business to harass me. I guess if they spent more time grooming and less time calling me, there wouldn't be as many unsatisfied customers.... read more

She does a VERY good job. Prices are very reasonable. Dogs always leave very well groomed. this is the only place that my German won't shed "AFTER" the visit. All other groomers have her shedding days after she leaves. Cut and Cuddle always gets all of the hair out. Always done on time and not that difficult to get a Saturday appointment (usually a 2 week wait) as I forget to schedule in advance. I just wish she took credit card instead of cash/check only. read more

5++++ stars for sure! Laurie (maybe Lori) is the new owner and she is fabulous. She is the best groomer we have had for our elderly and overweight King Charles Spaniel. Winston loves going here and we love taking him there. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays so know that. I am happy to say that you cannot call a day before and expect to get in. Word of mouth has made this place a popular place for grooming and that is a good thing. The store is clean, you can see Laurie grooming and interacting with your dog (or baby as some people refer to their pups) and we could not be happier with the work Laurie does. Love this place! If you have a timid dog, trust me (well ours is not) your pup will be happy here. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The owners are friendly as long as you don't confront them about what they've done wrong. I took my dog here one time before "the incident" (read on to find out what happened) and everything went wonderfully. She looked super cute and super tired (I figured it was from a long day away from home) when she was done and we made an appointment for her next cut. However when I dropped her off the next time (the start of "the incident") she was terrified to go in. As soon as she realized where she was she tried booking it to my car -- she has NEVER done that. When I picked her up that day she looked as cute as before but was still really, really tired. Now I'm not saying they drug dogs but I've taken my dog to other places and she's never been tired afterwards. But that's not even the worst part. My dog caught EAR MITES from this place!! We don't take her to parks or anything and she has no contact with dogs other than the other one we have at home (who also never goes to parks and hadn't gotten groomed in two months) so there is no other option for where she caught mites. Her $40 haircut ended up costing us $300 in vet bills and another $80 in medicine for her ears. When we confronted the owners they were rude and denied any part in my dog's illness. Also, my neighbor took her dog there for the longest time (she owns a show dog) and he recently caught kennel cough from them. They were also rude to her. Long story short: DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE. There is a high chance they'll catch something. read more

The couple that operate this grooming shop couldn't be nicer. On our first visit, they greeted our dog by name and when we left, gave her a Christmas card. (It's the little things sometimes right?). Lucy is clean and looks like a million dollars. We'll bring her again and if we're as happy I'll update the review to possibly 5 stars. I was a little wary at first given a couple of the reviews on this place, but they really seem like sweet people and treated Lucy like she was their own. read more

I took my Bishon here for a special treat!! What I got was a nightmare! Her hair was already short she just needed a bath and trim. They shaved off her ears didn't cut or trim her tail at all..groomers must not do tails. But the worst was the groomer trimmed the insides of her ears leaving them with huge sores! Pixey had to be on antibiotics for 2wks. Second visit to vet ears were still not healing, she had to be shot up with another high dose of antibiotics! Finally today she is doing better after four weeks of daily cleaning of the wounds! I e-mailed the business with my complaint, with no response! I didn't go there in person to complain, my main concern was my pup. Obviously the grooming was in training and experimented on my dog!!! Don't take your dog here!!! read more

My husband and I just moved to Winfield from Barrington 6 months ago. Our pup Ditka (9 yr old lab) had been going to the local Barrington groomer all of his life. We initially were not going to switch to a Winfield groomer due to his routine but I was expecting our daughter in September and was worried about the long drive every few months to keep Ditka clean. I was picking up a sandwich across from Cut and Cuddle one day at lunch and stopped an elderly couple in the parking lot that had just walked out of the groomer to ask them about Cut and Cuddle, how long they had been going there, their opinion etc. They had nothing but positive things to say and had been going to cut and cuddle in Winfield for many years. I decide to take the chance and try cut and cuddle out for convenience, I was growing bigger by the day and was expecting anytime. My husband and I were very impressed with Cut and Cuddle in Winfield. Ditka went a month without shedding (they have a great treatment) and looked/felt great! I was so happy that I took the chance, it was a huge leap of faith to try a new location. After reading the reviews on yelp, I learned that there is a 2nd cut and cuddle in Crystal Lake, not owned by the same people. The negative reviews that show on Yelp seem like they are coming from northerners, one in Elgin and one in Crystal Lake. It seems as if the negative reviews are being mixed up with a separate location. I hope that people are swayed to TRY cut and cuddle in Winfield. Our animals are very important to us and I want to make sure I trust where I am sending them. Cut and Cuddle has Ditka out in under 2 hours. Jim does an excellent job letting me know how is right ear is doing (problem ear), calls me when I can pick him up so he doesn't sit there (he sat at his old groomers for most of the day) and we can't wait to get Ditka home and cuddle him in his cleanness. I hate to say it but Cut and Cuddle has done a BETTER job then than the groomers in Barrington he had seen his whole life (we love them and appreciate the history but there is a difference). We have never experienced such success with deshedding treatments and whatever cut and cuddle does....allows my house to be clean and less hairy for at least a month. I would say it cuts down 75 percent of the shedding. When Ditka went to his groomer in Barrington, we never saw a difference (never knew there could be such a big difference). I am very happy with Cut and cuddle and am so lucky I was given a good word of mouth and tried cut and cuddle out. My now 4 mo old gets licked in the face all of the time by Ditka, logs countless hours of floor time during the week, and to know my house is cleaner and healthier for my baby due to cut and cuddles care and treatment for Ditka, makes me very thankful they are close by! read more

They do a great job on my standard poodle -- he has never looked so beautiful. Ears and anal glands cleaned, everything clipped and looking great even when I bring him in too long and matted. And what I like best is that he is basically in-and-out, no waiting in a cage while other dogs are groomed. Great place. read more

We bring all 3 of our dogs to Cut & Cuddle for grooming (2 Jack Russells and 1 Mini Dachshund) and we have been very happy with their services. Our dogs are all short haired, so they really only get a bath, de-shedding, and nail trim. They usually don't like to go to the groomer so they get a little wild when we drop them off, but they are very happy when they are done and very playful with the staff when we pick them up. The owners are very nice and always accommodating, as they will usually get us in same day for all 3 dogs if necessary. It would be nice if they did take credit cards, but for $100 for all 3 dogs, we don't have a problem planning ahead with some cash. read more

I had to find a new groomer since my previous one moved away. I tried Lori and was disappointed. I brought my dog in and she didn't want me stay. She kept saying, "dogs do better when their owners aren't around." That's not true of my senior dog, so I sat in the waiting area, but she deliberately groomed my dog at another table so I couldn't see what was going on. The grooming job was nice, so I scheduled another appointment for a month later. For the second appointment, I called her as I was heading over, but the phone went directly to voicemail. I was calling to let her know I was running late because of a long train that had stopped on the tracks. I'm north of the tracks, and her shop is south of the train tracks. I had to drive the long way around via County Farm to get there (the shop is close to the Winfield Train Station). When I showed up 10 minutes later, her shop was closed and she was gone. I'm guessing she was long gone before I even called her to tell her I was running late. I left several voice messages, but there was never a return call. read more

I have been taking my dog to Cut and Cuddle for years and am extremely happy with the service they provide. Recently, I brought my dog in and told Allison (one of the owners) that my dog was not feeling well. When I picked the dog up, Allison told me she found a sore on my dogs foot and carefully trimmed the fur away from the sore. I brought the dog to the vet and the vet commented on what a good job the groomer had done. I highly recommend this business. read more

Very good groomers for our dog. They are a bit on the pricy side in my opinion, but our dog always comes out looking clean and spiffy. We take him there every couple months for a haircut and bath. read more
