Hands down the best place we ate on our two-week Alaska vacation. Everything we ordered was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The menu includes plenty of veggie options and a number of interesting specials. The ambiance and service were also outstanding--not much of an ocean view, but absolutely charming. Hands down the best place to eat in Homer! It has this incredibly unique down to earth vibe to it. Everything is made from scratch and their food is like no other. I would give them a 1 star for service, 4 for coffee and 3 for pastries. You stand there for ever (and I mean EVER!!) without anyone acknowledging you, almost all customers had the same issue for the time I was there. I don't think it takes much to acknowledge a new customer and say " hi! Will be with you in a few moments". We almost walked away. read more

Not exactly sure what happened with our visit but I was super excited to visit Homer just to get some treats at the Bakery. The place is absolutely adorable with a fun back porch and one of the best kid playing area I have ever been to. My 2 year old didn't want to leave and it gave me a chance to really enjoy my goodies. The latte was superb, but everything else is ok. The espresso cupcake was really dry topped off with super hard icing. I never had anything like it before. Nevertheless I'm going to give it another try. Hopefully next time they won't be out of the chocolate bread and sticky buns that everyone seem to rave about. read more

What a gem! I LOVED this place and wish they had one back home! We ate here both days we were in Homer. I really wanted to sample more food from here. I ate their quiche and granola with milk. The granola is made there and honestly, it's the best I've EVER had! It's not sweet. It's good, healthy, natural granola and they give you a generous portion for the price. Definitely try it! The quiche was good and full of veggies. My friend had a savory both days and really like it and their coffee. I'm looking forward to visiting this place again if/when I'm back in town! One final note: they have both gluten free and vegan options available for breakfast and lunch if you need something to take along for your daily adventure. read more

Unbelievable bakery in paradise! Stopped in for afternoon tea when we arrived and returned for a beautiful dinner that evening. Everything is fresh and locally sourced to the extent possible, including perfectly prepared seafood with delicious sides like coconut rice with ginger slaw. I don't get what all the fuss is about? Everyone recommends this place when in Homer. I've had better, honestly. The stuff IS fresh baked. They are busy baking away behind the serving counter. It's tight in there, so choose quickly and move along. That's the gist I got. I ordered a brownie, a turtle brownie, and a flourless chocolate cake. The brownie was just mediocre. I threw it out to save my calories. She put my turtle brownie in a paper sleeve so the chocolate frosting stuck to it and I lost it all. Sigh... It was just ok. The flourless chocolate thing was DRY. I wasn't impressed. Here's the good thing though... They make their breads fresh daily. They have a schedule, so you can plan to pick up accordingly. Get there EARLY if you want a specific kind of loaf. I go there at 9:30am on Sat and they were almost completely out of Saturday's bread. I just do not understand. We love Two Sisters. We eat out there at least 5 times a year and have never had any problems. The food is fantastic and the service is usually spot on. But last night my wife and I along with my sister walked in (without a reservation) at a little after 7pm and were turned away. The whole front room was empty and the outside seats were empty as well. I understand that those tables were to be spoken for but the staff should have figured a way to seat us 3. Maybe suggest having a beer and waiting outside so they could figure it out. Move a table to accommodate 3 people? Do something. It's not like we are a party of 6 coming in unannounced. You lost an easy $150 last night Two Sisters. Train your staff to figure it out and get those easy walk-ins a seat, especially when the restaurant is half empty. Thanks read more

We had a lunch their on our recent trip to Homer. Was recommended by a friend who lives in the area. Fun place to eat with hundred percent local ambiance. Enjoyed our meal. I didn't like the savory lunch pastry I ordered but I didn't know what it was and looked good. Has inside and outside seating including a front yard with a small playground for kids! Decent bakery. Good quality ingredients and clearly someone knows how to bake. That said, I was disappointed on three levels. There's just nothing setting this off as very good, much less excellent. My mom and I stumbled on this bakery as we were cruising through Homer, and were so happy we did. They had a large variety of savory and sweet baked goods, including sandwiches. We ordered a few different things to nibble on and try--each and everything was delicious. The chowder was hearty and tasty. We also ordered the bread with the chocolate in it, the bread stuffed with jalapeno, cheddar and cream cheese and a few other items--each and every thing was so good. If I ever make it out to Homer, AK again, this will be a definite stop. They have a cute patio in back to sit and enjoy. We had breakfast here on a Tuesday morning (Monday is meatless) so my daughter was delighted to find they had a BLT available but it was better than any BLT she had ever eaten before. I had the vege quiche along with a Latte and was very pleased with my meal. We spent our breakfast talking with a local couple (we are from Anchorage) and had a wonderful time. Homer is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet and the hospitality here is heart warming. We bought a chocolate brownie for the road and I loved that it burst with sweet chocolate flavor but was very light on sugar. I went in on a Monday afternoon and, though no one else was waiting, they acted rushed and impatient. They forgot part of my order and for the cupcake I bought, they squished it into a plastic sundae cup to the extent that when I tried to take the top off most of the frosting and some of the cake went with it.
