The buffet itself was a little bit on the smaller side, with two hot food bars and one cold one. However, there was also a stir-fry station and sushi. The food appeared to be fresh, but were the basic offerings from a typical Asian buffet. There were crab legs but they did not look very appetizing. However, the frog legs and the chicken wings were fresh out of the deep fryer when I was there, and were probably the best items on the buffet. Staff regularly tended to the buffet to ensure that it stayed fresh and my server made sure my drink was always filled. There is a freezer in the front filled with little single-serving cups of ice cream that reminded me of the school cafeteria when I was in grade school. The buffet is a bit on the pricey side compared to others of the same caliber. However, the service is excellent which it why I gave it 4 stars instead of three. The King Buffet is a little bit out of the way for me, but I would consider going back the next time I am in Jennings.

I live three hours away and will pass up a few other closer casinos to come to Coushatta. I'm a slots only player and really enjoy the variety they offer. I think their games are fun and they pay out decently. I don't ever feel like I just got my butt handed to me when I leave. I also really appreciate the free drinks they offer on the floor & thought it was really cool they have an Icee machine. I also like their alcoholic drink policy and the way you're able to order a drink at one machine, then move to another and still get your drink delivered to you. Their players card program is the best I've ever seen as far as comps and offers go. That's saying a lot as I've frequented casinos in Vegas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. The advantage club desk is in this lobby aswell. I've sat here so long my family has helped 2 people from falls in the lobby. A third lady was able to save herself from a nasty fall. While the new hotel lobby is nice and spacious, it seems you my have a longer walk to the older hotel rooms. I haven't made it past the lobby to know . Regarding the wait: Perhaps more workers are needed. Nevertheless, I'm trusting that the long wait is a learning curve now that the new hotel is open.
