This is my FAVORITE store in San Francisco!!!! They carry the greatest selection. Each piece has clearly been taken into consideration. They have a wide variety of everything. I go in frequently for basics, finding gorgeous sweaters and fun unique tops (from Tibi, Milly, Liquid, White & Warren and so on). Or a great pair of jeans which they have a great selection of from Hudsons to Red Engine to Rock & Republic. Something for every body type. And then when I want to get a great outfit for a night on the town or a special occasion, this is the place, anything from Bensoni to Porter Grey! And almost as important as the clothes is the extremely NICE and HELPFUL staff!!! All the friendly girls in Two Skirts give the perfect amount of attention to each customer. Each person gets a greeting and then onto honest help. You can tell that the girls really want to help you find what you need rather than the push for the sale! I haven't experienced the rudeness others are talking about, and every time I have gone in there to try and find specific pieces they have given great suggestions and helped me find something incredibly flattering. I moved to SF from Chicago about a year ago and stumbled into Two Skirts on Chestnut Street. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They pulled all of their favorite items for me and helped me with sort through the jeans (amazing Hudson collection!) I left the store with an amazing Tibi coat. It is so unique and the best part is that I have not seen the coat anywhere else or on anyone else! Everytime I wear it I get so many compliments. Wow, we have some bitter ladies who clearly judge a clothing establishment by how much someone kisses up to them as opposed to the actual clothing. Shopping isn't actual therapy, people. The clothes are great. I appreciate the sales people because they don't try to SELL me into buying something I can't afford. And if you think the clothes are overpriced, try finding them cheaper...they have the same prices at Neiman, or at actual Tory Burch stores...therefore, they are the SAME price as everywhere else. If you think they are overpriced, then don't buy them at Two Skirts or anywhere else. read more

I seem to have spent a lot of time-and money-at this lovely boutique recently. Two Skirts carries some "usual" lines like Cynthia Steffe, Tocca and Tracy Reese, but it also offers little-known designers and unique handbags and jewelry I haven't seen at other SF stores. The staff is incredibly helpful--and honest with their opinions on what works and doesn't--and will even indulge you if you just want to play dress up. The space itself is very inviting, too, and their sale rack can lead to great finds, including private cashmere labels, Sobella leather bags and even a hard-to-find Luca Luca! read more

This is a great space on chestnut...I saw it featured in a magazine somewhere, however on the day I went in I felt like I was entering Banana Republic on a big sale day: extremely hot, packed full of people and messy racks and shelves everywhere. This is a cute boutique store! I would've given them more stars but unfortunately the Asian salesgirl that works there is sub par. I thought that I would give them another chance so I brought a friend to the store today and when we left the store, she mentioned to me that the girl was rude and clearly inconvenienced by her asking a question. Perhaps the sales clerk might have had a bad day, but please do not take it out on the customer. Poor customer service coupled by an attitude that is less than desired. read more

Seriously? I love Two Skirts. If I had to get a head to toe outfit at one single boutique in the city, I would run to Two Skirts. And, they have Kai products!!!The yummiest of scents. So what if their clothes aren't ever really on sale or reasonably priced- it's all about quality people!!! There stuff is all really cute, and I've never been disappointed. I have bought some of the my favorite pieces at Two Skirts & never experienced a snooty sales girl. I'm not a big spender, either, I just know what I like. I love this store!! The clothes are beautiful and the staff is great. I have a 4 month old baby and love shopping at this store as there is lots of room for my big stroller and the staff always makes both me and my daughter feel extremely confortable and welcome. I can't speak to the snobby attitude mentioned in lot of these review here - What I can say is that this store has a great collection of fun lines and I always enjoy stopping in whether to make a purchase or just browse their selections. I've never felt uncomfortable - the sales people are neither super over-bearing and pushy or rude and dismissive .Additionally, I left my iphone in the store while holiday shopping in December and the store manager went out of her way to return my husband's call and confirm that someone had turned it in which was a super nice surprise and very much appreciated. read more

Extremely disappointed with my shopping experience at this store.Living in the Marina I have enjoyed supporting the local boutiques in the area and thought highly of two skirts until now. In the last month I purchased an Ella Moss long maxi dress that I was so excited to have. I loved it! I hand washed it on cold and hung it to dry and the front shrunk up :(. Assuming that it might have not been pre-shrunk by a mistake by Ella Moss I brought it back to which the shop helper, too thought it looked odd. She said the owner would get back to me and we would certainly figure it out. The shop owner did get back to me via email saying it had never happened before and there was nothing she could do and to come by and pick it up. I came by and asked to speak with her to which she called and implied I was a liar and treated me like a con artist almost bringing me to tears on the phone. I love fashion and very rarely bring anything back. I wasn't asking for my money back or a store credit - I just wanted advice to fix it or get the same dress just not damaged. :( The owner Robin does not care about her customers and/or fashion and I will not be returning! read more

I've always had a wonderful experience - the staff is extremely friendly, and all of the girls are knowledgeable about the merchandise. They stock the store with unique clothing items and great jewelry and offer a higher-end experience than the larger retail chains. The staff of this shop are so unbelievably rude! It shocks me everytime I give this store another chance. To make a long story short, they wouldn't let me buy something and then return it within a day if they didn't work. I didn't even want to take the item out of the store, i wanted to pay for it over the phone, then come in to make sure it would work! They told me they don't do any returns, give me a break! Plus, the girl couldn't have been more snobbish. Horrible customer service. I will never shop there again and neither should you. There are too many options on Chestnut street. read more

They have some great clothes, but I agree with all of the reviews regarding the sales people. I went in on Sunday and the two women behind the sales counter were unfriendly and could not be bothered with questions. The best store on Chestnut! Great selection of stylish designer clothes that are affordable and not like what's in a department store. Wish I could have bought a bunch of items but have a wedding to pay for. Also, have to say the people that work there are amazingly honest and helpful. And on top of it, they packaged up the wrong size for me, and since I live out of town, someone else had to return for me. Even after all that and speaking with the owner, they still charged me for the shipping. I am so inspired to write a response to those of you who mischaracterize the service at Two Skirts as "rude!" The ladies who work there actually allow you to browse without jumping all over you before you've even had a chance to decide what you want which is a refreshing change! They also offer honest advice and wouldn't encourage you to buy something that looks bad on you or doesn't fit! They tirelessly offer suggestions of things that will work for you and the clothes are unique and beautifully merchandised as well! I just read some of the other reviews and was frankly surprised because I have never had a bad experience here. I have owned 3 clothing stores myself, and from experience I know how hard it can be to make sure everyone you hire is 100% "on" all the time, and thus a customer can unfortunately leave with not the best experience sometimes. I go in here whenever I am in the Marina, which isnt often, but maybe a couple times a year. Each time, I dont really get acknowledged, which I think some people are ok with, but since I'm in the service industry, Im not that excited about it. Ill have things in my hands, but no one ever really wants to help me or talk to me. At that point, Ill usually put the stuff back and walk out the door, as every little bit saved helps my wallet to spend elsewhere. Nice boutique with a chic ambiance and good selection of threads. They offer a wide range of items- from somewhat affordable AG jeans to high end cocktail dresses. They also have shoes, bags and jewelry. The sales associates are hit or miss. Some are very friendly and some aren't friendly at all. Their return policy is strict so sometimes I'm tempted to just take my business to Nordstrom but Two Skirts is just so dang convenient that I keep going back for more. I went there a short while to buy a present for my wife. The staff was very attentive and very helpful. The selection was great. I ended up buying an outfit and a necklace to go with it. I spent quite a bit of time there making up my mind and the service was always friendly even though I changed my mind several times.
