I have never had a bad meal here. Great staff and fun environment. Sometimes quiet. Just a comfortable hometown restaurant.

Review Visit: March 2nd, 2016 If there is an earthquake, this place will be playing 52 Card Pickup. My girlfriend had mentioned Tyroni's quite a few times as a place she wanted to try and we finally found the perfect time to go. It was a cold day and we needed something to warm us up. What better than pizza to warm you up and put a smile on our face. We arrived to an empty parking lot. I was certain the place was closed for the day. As we milled about outside trying to see if the place was open, I snapped the selfie above and then we proceeded to try and enter the restaurant. As we were walking in, a waitress was coming up to us to ask if we were okay. We said we were, we were just trying to figure out if the place was open or not. She said we just missed a crowd and had the place to ourselves. Perfect! My girlfriend and I like similar things, so it wasn't too hard to pick out a pizza. The unexpected thing happened when we went to place our order. They had a special of buy one, get one half off. We took them up on the offer and we both ordered our own pizza instead of splitting one. This let us get exactly what we wanted without compromise. Perfect! We did order some breadsticks, so we munched on those while we waited. As with most appetizers, this was a bad ideas a breadsticks tend to be a bit filling. The waitress slid our two pizzas in front of us as we regretted eating so much of our appetizer. We did leave room for pizza, thankfully. Having two full pizzas placed in front of us meant that we were going to go back home in a food coma, for sure. Slowly but surely we worked on the pizza. We sampled each others pizza and agreed that getting our own was the right choice. I liked hers but was not food envious for once. The pizzas were pretty tasty. I don't remember being amazed by it but at the same time, it was exactly what I expected for the price. That happy middle ground between frozen store bought pizza and gourmet. And you know what, that was perfect for what we were needing on this day. We actually came back a few weeks later to get more pizza but declined the second pizza for half off. We had too many left overs from the first visit that we knew better this time around. The second trip was equally as decent as the first one. We knew what we were expecting and Tyroni's delivered on just that. There is a cool aspect to Tyroni's. They have a ton of playing cards embedded in the ceiling. I am sure I asked our waitress about it before but the meaning behind it is long forgotten. Still, a pretty neat thing to see while sitting. Though with my short attention span, I found myself getting lost in looking at all the cards. Tyroni's is a great stop if you need some pizza at a decent price and a decent taste. read more

Let me preface this by saying there was a cook wanted sign on the door and it was only the second day for our waitress. We went at 5:30 on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Waitress took drink orders quickly. Wine appeared fast; my white zin was in two 5 oz. bottles. My partner's cab was in two plastic cans, I kid you not! I know it's a pizza place, but I had their pasta previously, so I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with addition of green peppers, onion, and mushrooms. I did not order it baked. My partner ordered a calzone as listed on the menu. We had to wait about 20 minutes before the food came, a pretty long time for a place with only four other tables full! My wine was gone before my salad came, but the waitress was pretty prompt in checking and refreshing our beverages. Spouse could not drink anymore canned wine, so he had one of my little 5 oz. bottles. Food arrived before I finished the salad. His calzone had nothing but pepperoni and cheese, when the menu read mushrooms and black olives. Actually it had been so long that we weren't sure what else the menu read about the calzone ingredients! He said it was tasty though. My pasta arrived with no veggies. Waitress took the blame and took it back. With my salad finally finished, the pasta arrived, but it was the baked version, which I didn't want. It tasted good, however, with the veggies fresh and crisp cooked. Our bill was only $50, which included alcohol. Next time, we get a carry out pizza! read more

Okay so I normally don't do buffets, but I had heard so much about this place and thought I'd give it a try. I was close and hungry and should have looked elsewhere...oops. Pros No wait for a table Solid variety of pizza, salad bar fixings, and other stuff (cinnamon bites were great dessert). Cons Service. Waitresses were non-existent, instead standing around chatting about a group coming in (even though they didnt know how many people or when), what they had done all day and were doing tonight, and some town gossip. (I heard this as they were at the entrance to the kitchen which was close-ish to my table.) Food. The pizza was blah. Not a lot of flavor and not warm/hot. Even though there were about 10 people eating they had a hard time keeping up, even though there were multiple people making pizzas. Price. Price was $26 for two buffets and when the pizza isn't warm and service terrible, NOT worth it. Well lesson learned. read more

This is the type of restaurant that belongs on Ramsey's kitchen nightmares anything that could go wrong went extremely wrong on our visit. Complete with a manager who threw their staff under the bus when under fire. Will not be back! read more

We started with the homemade chips and cheese. I ordered the soup and salad and my guest ordered the Calzones with Italian sausage .

First time and certainly wont be the last,was greated and taken care of by friendly staff. Expectations generally low for a buffet but it was all very good and reasonably priced. I'm looking forward to coming back and ordering from the menu. read more

I have always enjoyed this place for lunch. I am in Peoria area frequently for business and this place was good, fast and priced right for a lunch buffet. I regret to say I won't ever go back- I had lunch there recently and I found a very long brown hair in my salad, at least 10" long. Disgusting. No hair on my head is even on inch it wasn't me. And it was half in my mouth before I realized it was in my salad. yuck. So, as I go to leave, they HAND ME A CHECK! Really?! I just had a long hair in my salad! I said "what is this?" They said " you still have to pay for lunch, we threw the rest of the salad way" I don't care what they did with the salad. I do care they made me pay for a long hair in it. I won't be back. Since we are moving back to Pekin I figured I should check out Yelp reviews for the area. We already have our favorites but perhaps you can get us to try your favorites with great reviews. We have lived in Florida for twenty years. But when visiting famly and friends we eat out often. At our age what else can we do? We've gone from Pekin and so Pekin with friends to Tyroni's often. Last few times two couples shared one "sampler" and a large pizza, plus drinks. Prices are fair, service outstanding, and food as good as it gets. What more do I need to write? PS as mentioned, parking stinks. Especially with a quad cab truck. However we heard there is parking in the rear. read more

First time guest. We ordered a large deep dish with extra cheese. Half pepperoni, mushroom, and sausage, half cheese. We were told it would be 30 minutes. Arrived 20 minutes later and decided to check in and pay. That was a mistake. It was another 40 minutes before ai got my food. They screwed up the large so they made me a small and a medium instead. That's not what I wanted or ordered. As for the food, it was weak. No extra cheese and the pizza wasn't that tasty. I'll look elsewhere for my pizza and hope you do the same. read more

Staying at Marriott Courtyard in Peoria and called to place a delivery order of pasta and pizza etc. Their website lists the address as Peoria, but I guess technically in Bartonville. So they would not even take our order, just said that they would not deliver here. Now looking at other reviews, this was a blessing in disguise! Gentleman on the phone was polite enough, but the one in the background, not so much. Tacky, tacky. read more

I hate giving bad reviews, but this experience was terrible. We ordered 1 pizza, 2 calzones, 24 wings, and a nacho appetizer for pick-up. We were on hold 12 minutes and told it would be $71.00...fine. We got to the restaurant and the bill was $89.00. When we questioned and asked to take a look at the bill, we received a hiss from the employee. She had already swiped our card, so the manager re-charged us the lower priced bill and issued a debit refund that could take up to 5 business days to clear. We then waited 28 minutes because the order was never sent to the kitchen. We finally received our food and popped the nachos open in the car because we were starving. The nachos were stale and cold. We checked the rest of the order, it looked fine. We ran back in and told the manager. The manager offered to redo them, so we waited 10 more minutes. After redoing our app, which we appreciated, we headed home to feed our visiting family. The wings were pink inside and mostly raw. The rest of our order was great. The pizza and calzones were awesome, however we had to feed 8 people with a medium pizza and 2 calzones. I don't like to complain but in this case it wasn't just one issue, but multiple. Tyroni's is a great local Italian restaurant in Bartonville, IL. I am not sure if it is a family business or not though. I had pizza there with my family, and it was delicious! It was recommended by a friend and I'm glad I came and tried it. They serve thin crust pizza, and as usual you can get any toppings you want. It was very crispy when it arrived, which is my favorite! The place is a bit small. It was packed with locals when I went in the evening on a weekend. But I guess that could be a good thing! That means the food must be good! It was a bit too pricy for the pizza though. I definitely cannot afford that all the time, so that's the place I will go to if I want to splurge! read more

We just got back from Tyronis Italian Cafe and attempted to use a valid Restaurant.com certificate for $15 off the cost of the meal. When we showed the certificate to our waitress, she said that she would check to see if it was OK to use. She came back and said that she was told that it was OK, so we ordered our meal. As we were eating our starter salad and drinks, she returned and said that the certificate was invalid, so I called the Restaurant.com phone number on the certificate and discovered it was still valid. I then asked the waitress what was going on, and she told me that they they had called the owner at his home, and he told them that he was no longer honoring Restaurant.com certificates even if they were valid. We told her to give us our bill for just the salad and soft drinks and to cancel the rest of the meal that we ordered. Since this was the owner's fault and not the embarrassed waitress, we paid for the salad and soft drinks and even gave her a tip. Also, while we were there, we overheard some other guests complaining that they were overcharged for their bucket of beers that were clearly advertised on each table at $13 each. However, the owner told his staff that he had decided to charge $15 even though the advertised price was $13. Do not eat at Tyronis in Bartonville, IL if you do not want to be cheated by the absentee owner. read more

We went here for the first time. We had seen the commercials and thought since we were in Peoria we would go. The place was nice and service was ok. We ordered the Tyroni potatoes were good but not for almost $10. We both ordered Lasagna. When it came it looked very good. After a couple bites it was cold in the center I asked the waitress and she indicated they only make new once they get down to 1/2 of a pan. I took this to mean it is not made fresh daily and who knows how long it had been in the fridge. I was offered something else so after agonizing over the menu I got a pizza. It was good but not great like other reviews. The manager never come out of the kitchen to talk to us we felt like we did not matter. We will not go back and if you want a good Italian meal choose another place. If your looking for ok pizza then this is your place. read more

Since my first review we have returned several times. Sorry to say....every time has had something negative about it. One time, our waitress was non-existent. Maybe because we were only having the buffet. However, they couldn't keep up with the buffet and there was a lot of sitting a waiting without food. Another time, the waitress spilled the hot wax on my pizza when she put it on the table. I honestly wasn't upset by it but then I had to put my finger in the wax and let her see it actually turn white on my finger as it cooled to prove that she had done it. They made me a new pizza. My husbands order wasn't correct, even though he hadn't ordered anything special. He ordered something off the menu with no special instructions and they added things that weren't supposed to be there. Weird. The last time was even more interesting. After waiting quite a long time the waitress informed us that the cook had gotten my husbands pizza wrong so they were remaking both of our pizzas so that we still received them at the same time and were fresh. Okay. When the "correct" pizzas finally came out mine was wrong. So mine was right and my husband's was wrong and they recooked both and mine was wrong and my husband's was right. What?! We talked with our waitress about this indecent and couldn't help but bring up the fact that it seemed something was wrong every time we came. She said the cook was new. What are the odds that every time we have gone we've experienced some one new? Maybe. She offered us a free dessert which we politely declined, to which they brought us anyway packed to go. I don't know that I will ever get my husband back in here. The food is actually very good. The service seems to be all over the place. I have kept trying and still haven't gotten a good enjoyable visit here. Wish that wasn't true because the breadsticks are AMAZING! read more

We had dinner here tonight and our waitress was lacking customer service. We didnt get menus, had to get our own silverware and my order was wrong. The waitress wrote it down correctly but didnt enter it into the computer right. She didnt offer to cotrect my meal nor the price. I offered to pay half for my meal and asked to speak to someone about it, she said she would get her manager. After 10 minutes, she brought a revised bill. I paid and she brought back the wrong change. As I was walking out the waitress had an attitude and said it wasnt like she tried to screw up my order. I will never be back! We order delivery from here regularly and occasionally eat in the restaurant. The food is consistently delicious. I love their thin crust pizza. Their thick crust is very reminiscent of old school Pizza Hut pan pizza. Very tasty. Their pasta dishes are also yummy, as are their wings. Great service. Great food. Stopped here for lunch on the way to Bloomington. Ordered Sunday buffet. I also ordered water with lemon. However the waitress told me they were out of lemon. No big deal. My secret husband ordered a $1 mimosa, which he described as effervescent. I sampled it as well and found it to be quite delicious. I enjoyed the salad part of the buffet. Being on a restricted diet I was able still to find much to my liking. The salad was a mix of what appeared to be romaine, iceberg, and other leafy varieties, cut small enough to stab with my fork and still fit into my dainty mouth. Same for the size of the cut green bell peppers and tomatoes. I also put hard boiled eggs and black olives on my salad, topped with vinegar, oil, pepper, and salt. There were many more options but I was unable to partake, due to my aforementioned restricted diet (Whole30). My secret husband enjoyed two trips to the buffet where he exclusively ate thin delicious garlicky thin crust pepperoni pizza. When I kissed him later the garlicky taste was a delight to my senses. The buffet had lots more choices such as parmesan chicken wings, waffle fries, and a number of traditional American Italian foods. Compared to some Italian restaurants we have frequented in the past, this has more of an Americanized menu. Buffet items were replenished as needed. Price seemed average or moderate for similar dining experiences. Service was average in my opinion. The hostess seated us right away. Our waitress was polite and checked in on us a couple of times. My secret husband would come back if he has other business in the Bartonville area. I of course would accompany him.... but if he gets hit by a train, I would be more inclined to see what else Bartonville has to offer in the culinary arts should I ever find myself here on John Deere business. read more

Don't ever order delivery from this place. They always have a problem and an excuse. I placed an order tonight and was told it would arrive in about 35 mins. When it finally got here, an hour and a half later, it was exactly as one would expect an hour and a half old pizza to be. I heard multiple excuses on the way...a driver called in, a driver's car broke down, etc etc. The best response the restautant had "you need to be patient"....I need to be patient...excuse me! Their pizza's are very good, just make sure you dine in or carry out and don't have a customer service issue. The kids they have running the place don't know how to handle it. read more

I've been here several times over the years...food is "meh", but the servers are generally good looking, and the location is convenient when I'm in that part of town. I was there today, with my brother, however, and noticed that even though we both had the same thing (lunch buffet with soda) my tab was almost $2 more than his. When asked about it, the server says that when someone asks for bleu cheese as their dressing, they have to ring it up differently, and charge the soda separately. WHAT?? $2 is not going to break me, but that really would have been nice to know beforehand. read more

Pizzas are overpriced and Monicals is better and cheaper. Tyronis Breadsticks are good, but once again too expensive. Tyronis management is inexperienced and has their staff deal with customer issues, instead of dealing with it themselves and making it right for the customer. read more

We ordered carry out gluten free pizza crust and we got seriously ill after eating it. I contacted them to let them know to watch for cross contamination as I'm sure that's what happened. All I wanted was an apology for making us sick, but didn't get any response at all. We will never go there again and based on their lack of customer care, I will never recommend anyone to go there. read more
