This place is great when I'm feeling lazy, have a lot of things to wash, and am out of quarters. They will come pick up your laundry and drop it off in the same day if you get it to them before 10AM. You also give them roughly a 30min window of when they can drop off your stuff and they are pretty punctual. The guy who picks/drops off your clothes arrives on a little scooter and he manages to strap everything onto it. He's super friendly as are the people that work there. They keep your credit card info on file so that it's always really easy to set up a pick-up/drop off. They also do dry cleaning here as well I"ve noticed, but I haven't dropped anything off here yet. read more

I only ever do my own laundry here with the coin machines. The owners are really nice and helpful if you have trouble or need to break large bills into smaller ones for the change machine. Never had any issues and it's usually not even that crowded! Sometimes they close early around the holidays or odd weekends and will stop people from starting their loads after 7pm or so, but they always put a sign on the door. read more

If you like paying alot of money to get a little bit of laundry done, and getting alot of attitude about it, then this place is right for you. I just paid 50 dollars to get two and a half loads of laundry done, which I am kicking myself for in the first place. The morning I had scheduled to have it dropped off, I missed one of their calls. The terrible attitude I got was really shocking to me. This woman was whining and asking me why I didnt answer my phone, why I scheduled the drop off for the time I did, and was very unaccomidating when I tried to reschedule my drop off. Very annoying. The two stars are because I didn't have to walk to the laundromat ten blocks away lugging two loads of laundry. read more

I had a coat mended and dry cleaned here. Very good prices and the staff were super agreeable and helpful. I tried to get the same coat mended across the street at Master Tailor but they turned me away, wouldn't do it because it involved mending the pockets of the coat and the tailor didn't want to unpick the side seams of the coat to fix the pockets. Brought it here and they were very happy to give it a try. They did a great job, and I'll get years more out of the coat now that the pockets are mended. I have not done laundry here so I can't speak to that experience. read more

She accepted my order and charged me a very good price just for two pairs of pants. She was very generous and you can definitely tell that she's very experienced. They dry cleaned my clothes fine (sweaters, dresses, etc) at a cheap price with same day service. The problem was my boyfriend's pants came back twice with double creases. His suit pants already had a permanent crease and it will be very difficult to get their crease out. I took them to another place, so hopefully they can fix it. Dirty place where most of the machines are taken up and the dry cleaning is a waste of your money. Clothes get stolen and the employees do nothing to help the customers get them back. I've been going here for over 4 years. Love this place. They are a bit on the pricey side but it's worth it for the service they provide. I once caught my suit jacket on a nail and they fixed it within 90 mins. They take care of their regulars and I wouldn't go to any other place (even if my office wasn't across the street. This is the absolute worst place to do your laundry at. It came under new management a little while back and has been terrible since. My comforter just got completely destroyed in his dryer due to some ink inside he dryer that was completely invisible upon inspection. I told the man, who sees me every week AND HE JUST LAUGHED IN MY FACE PROFUSELY. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. SAVE YOURSELF MONEY AND HASSLE AND GO TO ANOTHER PLACE NEARBY. This review is for Anna and the amazing alteration service for a bridesmaid dress that I waited until the last minute to deal with. I needed the dress by 9/15 & brought it in on 9/7. Anna didn't even hesitate with her immediate kindness and accommodations. She took her time and was extremely attentive to every detail. It was clear that she not only wanted to make sure that the dress looked great, but that I looked great in the dress as well. The dress was ready as promised, everything was exactly as I hoped it would be & the dress fit perfectly! The pricing was also incredible. I really thought I was going to understandably be charged a lot because of the timing, but I was very pleasantly surprised! I was given a new customer discount despite the amount of work & timing. I brought a white dress shirt here to get dry cleaned (it had 1 dirt mark on the left sleeve that I asked them to remove) and got it back with grey/black stains all over one of the sleeves. First of all, I brought the shirt in on a Monday and they told me it would be available on Thursday after 5 pm. I didn't try to pick it up until the following Tuesday and they told me they didn't have it because they had sent it back because the stain hadn't come out. I was surprised by this because it wasn't really a stain just a small area that got some dirt on it where I had brushed up against an outdoor bench. They seemed appalled that I would expect the shirt to be there 5 days after they said it would be ready! (I never even received a phone call from them with an update about what happened). Long story short, they said I should come back the next day, which I did only to find that the right sleeve had stains all over the INSIDE of the sleeve. They claimed that they received the shirt like this which was 100% completely false. I paid and left after telling them that I knew they were lying though I didn't want to make a huge scene. I have been to several other dry cleaners within 2 blocks of here that have done a fantastic job. Don't go here. read more

I joined Yelp just to write this review. I wanted some laundry dry cleaned the other day, and they RUINED each of my items. I thought it was strange when my clothes got delivered in the laundry bag I had sent them in instead of on hangers... Sure enough, they "washed and folded" each of my cashmere sweaters and silk tops, ruining and shrinking EVERY single item. I called them furious and the only thing the woman said was, "It's a new owner." Hopefully the manager who was not in will return my call and at least give me some sort of compensation for all of my damaged clothes. WORST laundry service of all time. read more

I've also gone in with emergency alterations to my work uniforms and they have fixed them in less than 10min each time at incredibly affordable prices! Horrible customer service. To be avoided at all costs. After reading good reviews, I figured I'd give this company a try for pick-up/drop-off laundry service. I scheduled an appointment for a Monday morning and specifically told the operator that I leave for work at 8 am and would need my laundry picked up before then. I said this because I would not be able to carry my work bags AND my laundry down the stairs once it was time to leave for work. Low and behold, on Monday morning the driver arrived a few minutes after 8:00 am (this is after I called to check in once it got around 7:30 am, so I'm assuming they dispatched him last minute). So I had to cancel and reschedule for the next morning. The next morning the driver was a no-show, no-call. I called U Do-It inquiring about the no-show and they casually said that the driver was doing other pick-ups and wouldn't be coming. They acknowledged that I had a standing appointment and gave a half apology. That's all. They didn't offer a concession, they didn't offer to pick it up another day and do my laundry at a discounted price. Nothing. They were just kind of like "oops." Totally unprofessional and not worth the hassle of possibly going days without your expected clean clothes. For your own good, please use another laundry service! read more

This place is awesome. Seriously, I can be very picky about where and who washes my clothes. When I have the day to spare, I like to use the HUGE industrial machines to do my laundry. Basically, I can fit everything I need to wash into one machine for one price. Sold! I haven't found any other laundromat that has the convenience of these machines. Also, I love the fact that there is a prewash tub, where you can pretreat stains, etc. Again, that seems rare in most laundromats in the city. When I don't have the time I splurge for a wash and fold/dry cleaning. The owner (I'm assuming) is always there and very kind. If you're a regular, she'll definitely remember you and take special care. She's told me personally that she's a pro-tailor as well. If I ever need mending, I'd be happy to leave my clothes in her hands. Overall, efficeint and cost effective place for laundry. This place is my spot hands down. read more

The reasons for my rating are poor communication (language barrier) and inaccurate information on hours of operation on their own web page. Called them a day ago to schedule a pick-up. First, it took ages to explain that I have not dropped my laundry yet and want to use their pick-up/delivery service. Then it turned out that the delivery person left for the day (it was around 2 pm) despite that their web page states that deliveries and pick-ups happen from 7:30 - noon and 5-7 pm, Mon-Sat. Very friendly staff and professional service - I like to get my dresses altered a bit here and there so they fit better, and I can be pretty picky... I've had 4 or 5 dresses altered by Anna here so far, and she is awesome!! She always talks me through what she will do with the dresses, and they always turn out great, looking much better on me than when I bought them. She is reliable, friendly, and so, so helpful. There are other cleaners in my neighborhood (Washington Square West) but I choose to cross town to go here because of the combination of excellent service and price. I have only used this place for drop off wash and fold laundry. They do a fine job at washing and folding the laundry but they are ridiculously expensive. They charge $1.75 a pound, which in itself is hefty (when I lived in NY the going rate was $1 a pound). Once I adjusted to that sticker shock, I became even more shocked when they told me I had to pay a $10 surcharge because there was a blanket. "Not heavy enough for size" she said in her rather apathetic voice, "10 dollar more". So, I had two small throws that were on the couch (these were the blankets), 2 small bath mats and 3 hand towels. Based on weight, this was going to cost $18.75. With the extra $10, $28.75 to wash just 6 items. Another time, I took a cotton comforter. She charged an extra $10 for that on top of its weight as well. My hands were tied, so I went with it. bottom line: do I hate this place? Not really. Are they a price gouging rip off when it comes to dropping off laundry for wash and fold? Most definitely. I haven't used them for dry cleaning or for doing my own laundry, both of which I imagine are fine. But as soon as I find another wash and fold option, I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

I've had a few things tailored here. They do a good job and can get things done in a couple of days vs a week or more elsewhere.

Like the other reviews have said, U-Do-It is a solid laundromat. The only difference with others I've been to in the area is price. I went this morning to wash a large sleeping bag. I used one of the three (only three?!) triple load washers, and it cost $5, which is a bit pricey, no? Otherwise, the service is good and the staff are attentive. read more

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I had arrived around 8:30 p.m. when the gentleman who is presumably the owner tells me to use the large washing machine so that I would be finished by closing at 10 p.m. I did so and immediately proceeded to dry my clothes. Somewhere a few minutes before 10, the other employee there-- a middle-aged woman--comes to me and in a very angry tone tells me that I can't be drying my clothes right now because they are closing soon. So I say I've got four minutes left in the dryer and point to the timer on the machines. She says, "okay 4 minutes and then you go," so being that there was a couple of minutes left before 10 when the clothes were dry, I began to fold my clothing and she came over again and at this time it's 10:02. She was screaming at me to leave immediately or she was going to call the police! Absolutely terrible attitude without any appreciation for a legitimate customer doing exactly what the business is there for. read more

This place is HORRIBLE!!! Machine took 30 minutes to fill with water and then never began a wash cycle. The ladies were rude and not helpful. I had to pay for another machine. Initially, they told me I could buy detergent in the store. After a long and frustrating discussion, they did give me detergent for the two loads I had to a start over. My purse, which was a jean/cotton material, was covered/stained in hot sauce (long story) and this was the only dry cleaner to even attempt to fix it. When I got it back it was 99.7% all off my purse, with a tiny bit still in the inside. I was SOO relieved and shocked. I've been here twice and will never bring my clothes back here to be dry cleaned. They must have used starch on my 70 dollar pair of pants, I am not sure but they permanently stained my pants. They told me they would clean them again, but when I came back to pick them up the stains were still there. They told me I brought the pants there that way and I absolutely did not. The stains are large. When I pushed the issue and told them they ruined my pants, her response was "so what, we have 1000 dollar pairs of pants". They gave me 5 dollars for my pants and ignored me while I tried to talk to them. I called back later to tell them the way I was treated was disrespectful but the owner hung up the phone on me. A business like this should not be in business, especially a place that is responsible for your personal belongings. They were not willing to reason or work with me. If my pants were more than 200 dollars, I would sue them if not for their attitude alone. DO NOT DO YOUR DRY CLEANING HERE. read more

i was looking for an affordable dry cleaning place and this was great choice. they have 20% off on tuesday, and i had 4 dresses, a men's suit, and 2 blouses all dry cleaned for under just over $40. they were friendly and they are open early which made it very convenient. i would definitely recommend! read more
