I dropped off three high end couture garments at this place because I was looking to have them dry cleaned and I was told they were the best in town. The total retail of these garments is roughly $800. One of them was a Yumi Row lack linen balloon skirt, retail $230. It had a rip in it, which I knew about. I had already hired a professional local seamstress who specializes in repairing couture garments with a scheduled appointment to get this fixed, but wanted it cleaned first. When I got it back, someone at Yoon's had taken it upon themselves to stitch up this rip. It was clearly done with an inappropriate machine not meant to be used on a delicate courture garment - thus causing more damage to the rip and structure of this garment - but more importantly, they did so WITHOUT MY PERMISSION *and* WITHOUT DISCLOSING THAT THEY DID IT. In my opinion this means that they mistakenly thought they had caused the rip, and decided to try and stitch it up surreptitiously so that I wouldn't know it happened. Either one of two things happened here: they thought they ripped it and tried to cover it up, or they saw it was ripped and took it upon themselves to repair it without my permission or authorization, doing so inappripriately and damaging the garment further. In either event it was a completely unacceptable thing to do, and they are civilly liable for the structural damage this repair caused to the garment. Thus I am suing in small claims. read more

The owners are friendly and professional. They offer dry cleaning, clothing repair, and clothing modification. The entire process from drop off to pick up was straightforward and efficient. They are also very understanding if pick up needs to be delayed. The price is reasonable for the area. read more

The Yoons and their employees feel like family and are very honest. They have given me advice sometimes on stain-removal and alterations that would save me from paying them money to do this (and they tell me instead that it would be wiser in those particular cases just to go to a retail store and buy new clothing). I have to give these folks a shout out for being so spectacular over the past year and a half that I've been using them. They are timely and the quality of their work is great. For full disclosure, there was one time them at my shirt went MIA very very briefly. In that time they were very apologetic and offered generous compensation and shortly after the shirt was found anyway. (I obviously didn't accept any compensation). Since then I've used them many many many times and no issue. I even went a month and a half forgetting to pick something up but when I remembered, the items were good to go. I don't know if any of you have come across people who are passionate about their dry cleaners, but we absolutely love taking our items to Yoon's. They are very reliable, personable, and all of our stuff has come back even better than before. We were going to them for just dry cleaning at first. It was when one of my beloved sweaters that I got in Paris got a sad, and very noticeable tear in the sleeve from a rough washing machine. (I should have known better!) Thinking that we could take it to Yoon's and I would just have to live with a scar on the sleeve that - hopefully - only I would notice, we got it back and I couldn't believe what I saw! (Or, rather I didn't see!) I inspected both sleeves, turned the sweater inside-out, and I couldn't find where the damage was. What sorcery is this?! Needless to say, after that I was pretty sold on their services. Since then, we have taken suits, tailoring, coats, gowns - absolutely everything to them and have never been disappointed. Helped me out in a pinch!! Needed my dress dry cleaned bc of a water stain. They didn't have time to do a 24hr turn around so one of the women put a stain solution on my dress and told me soak the whole dress in water and then let it dry. I had to stop going where I used to go because of a strange falling out with my previous seamstress. I checked out Yoon's because of the convenient location, but as soon as I walked in the door and was greeted with such kindness, I knew I was in the right place. My sister-in-law's mother thrifts and flea markets like I thrift and flea market. Last time we were in Harrisburg, she gifted me with two thrift store bathrobes. Both needed to be shortened and one was missing a belt. The seamstress at Yoon's did a phenomenal job on both of them, and used the fabric from the pink one to make its new belt. I feel beautiful in both robes, and since I work from home and basically wear a bathrobe all day, it's nice to feel sexy and beautiful. I recently started a new job that requires me to actually dress like an adult, so I needed to find a dry cleaners to take care of my new profesh threads. Yoon's is right down the street from my apartment, so I figured it was worth a shot. I'm kind of new to this whole "dry cleaning" game, so I can't honestly say that I've payed less for service at other places, but Yoon's does seem a bit pricey to me. (My BF says they are comparable to other cleaners re: men's stuff, but it cost $12 for a dress of mine to be cleaned, and around $4 a blouse.) On average, it seems to take 3 -5 days for them to get clothes back to you. Is that long? I don't know. That aside, the service is awesome, the clothes come back clean and I can walk there in less than 4 minutes, so I'm happy! Other cool things: - They thoroughly check all the pockets of your stuff and flag any specific stains or marks on the clothes (this was especially helpful when my BF brought in a suit that he had worn to a bachelor party - lots of cash money in the pockets and wine stains on the pants and the jacket. Hashtag party animal). -They let me bring my dog inside the shop and give him treats! -They gave me a sweet, legit-looking giant bag to hold all my dirty laundry. -They clean other things, like down comforters. -The last time I was in there, I had my dog with me and was picking up a massive amount of clothes. The husband offered to carry my clothes and walk back with me to my apartment! I declined, but if that's not customer service that goes above and beyond, I don't know what is! FINALLY, I found a decent tailor in WashWest! Yoon's is run by a friendly family who are true professionals -- something that's oddly rare in this supposedly upscale part of town. So far I've only brought in a few dress pants and one pair of jeans to hem, but each time the workmanship has been excellent. The lady carefully measured the length, accounting for the shoes I would be wearing with the pants, and I returned to find crisply hemmed pants with neat, nearly invisible stitches. Yay! For my precious premium denim, the lady even asked whether I wanted to keep the original hem -- before I even thought to mention it! Like I said, true professionals. I think the turnaround time (just under a week) is pretty typical for this area, and the prices are about average. The only negative is the hours aren't as long as I would like, but then I just make sure to stop by on a Saturday. read more

This place is really convenient to my job so i wanted to use them for shirt laundry (i HATE ironing). But they charge $5 a shirt. Which is absurd. The place i used to use in the suburbs is $1.25. So i won't be going back. If their other services are as overpriced, i certainly can't afford it. On the other hand, the people that run the place are super nice. read more

I received a recommendation from a friend when moving into the neighborhood to give them a try and I have not regretted it. My clothes have been taken care of in a timely and professional manner, but more importantly is the genuinely friendly and caring service that is provided. The owners are super friendly and will go out of there way to help you out however they can-- from helping carry large loads of dry cleaning to your car/avoiding tickets from the PPA. I've gone here a few times for dry cleaning, and they have always done a good job. Prices and turn around time are pretty standard. I recently took a few items here to get some hems and holes repaired, and the results are absolutely amazing! My favorite blouse and winter coat are now as good as new. Wife went for a shirt cleaning because it was so close to our place. Shirt was not cleaned on time but I think that might be because they didn't hear her right. However, noticed a stain on her sleeve and went back the next day. They blamed her and said it was her fault. Did not offer to clean again and just sent her away saying they don't need her business. This place not only is an excellent cleaners, but the customer service is out of this world. They remember my and my husband's name, are SO friendly, and the price is very reasonable. I've also gotten a bridesmaids dress hemmed there, and the work was fantastic and I had the dress back in a week. I used to be a loyal customer of Yoon's. Last month, they put a new zipper in a pair of jeans for me. The zipper was difficult to use and started to fall down, so I brought back the jeans so they could fix the zipper. When I brought the pants back, they told me that there was no way they would have put this type of bad zipper in my jeans, and they accused me of lying that I got the zipper replaced there. They only agreed to fix it for an additional cost, and they would not believe me, even though they know me! I will not be going back. read more

I have used Yoon's in the past and have received good service. Today I picked up shirts and 2 of 6 had the collars improperly pressed so that they were an inch above the seam. Thinking that this was no issue I brought them back to be redone and was told "that's the way it is" and they would do nothing. I have been using this place for a few months. Recently, nothing has been ready on time. The final straw was today when my favorite blouse came back with bleach stains on the front and back. There were also new grease stains. I did have a stain removed but it was much smaller and it a different area (at least that was gone). I have never washed the blouse myself, and I don't even keep my dry cleaning with my non-dry clean clothing. I am 100% certain it was not there when I dropped it off. They agreed it was bleach, but denied responsibility even though they send it out so anything could have happened. $170 blouse is ruined. No apology or anything. I don't understand this dry cleaner. If I come to you to get something cleaned and it is returned in the same condition I brought it to you in you either: a) didn't do your job b) you couldn't properly clean it but failed to tell me c) some other more generous to you option that I cannot figure out now because I'm too annoyed. As a note, the shirt I brought in had a small stain (makeup) that I noted to the dry cleaner when I dropped it off and was told it would not be a problem.
