4 hours agoNEW If I could give this place U Fix It in Arlington Tx. a "0" I would..I went in the store looking for a valve for my refrigerator, I gave the associate Chris the part #. He sold me the wrong part and when I went to return the WRONG part the next day, he refused to give me a refund. I told him the part had NOT been installed,he didn't believe me so he called his Boss Jim. The end result was I did not get a refund. If a company treats it's customers this way over a $40 refund. they are evidently hard up for money.They just lost a customer and I advise you to stay away as well. The way I was treated just ruined my day! Horrible!! Instead of calling me a liar when I said the part had not been installed, he should have tried to upgrade or increase the sale by helping me replace my ice maker, that is what a great associate would do. NEVER SHOP HERE! I'm not usually one to write reviews but trying to get parts from this company has been a nightmare. After I did the research and gave them the exact part numbers, the wrong parts were ordered. Not that big of deal. Things happen. I get it. But I was told no charges were made to my account and not to worry about. I went ahead and tried again to order the right parts and was again told I would not be charged. The next day my account had been double charged for the wrong items and they did nothing to fix it. Had to call my bank to get them involved. This place is a gem. I called the store looking for a thermal fuse for a 90 Series Kenmore dryer. Edgar searched for the part and said he had 3 in stock. He then offered to pull the part for me before I got to the store. When I arrived at the store with my "faulty" fuse he offered to test it for free. Fridge was freezing everything. Thought I needed a new thermostat. Staff here was Happy to order parts for me but thought that my issue may be something else. They transferred me to one of their techs who walked me through how to do a service check and troubleshoot the refrigerator. Come to find out, ice was blocking a damper door from closing. Consider going elsewhere if your circumstances permit. Otherwise, you may find yourself gouged, especially if you do not do the homework before buying anything from them. The run capacitor on my condensor had burned out near midnight on a Friday night. My options were fairly limited. Temperatures were expected to be 95F+ for the next couple of days. Many HVAC supply companies do not sell directly to the consumer, and very few of those companies are open on weekends. Purchasing online wasn't an option either, unless I wanted to wait until Wednesday. The heat would have been too much to bear. I came across U-Fix-It, and was expecting to pay a fair and reasonable premium for the convenience of purchasing locally. I purchased a Jard 12792 run capacitor for $42.50 excluding tax. This was a direct replacement for a Goodman CAP050550440RTS. It worked as expected, and was satisfied with the part itself. The customer service person was friendly. I never heard of Jard and thought I would research the company. During the course of my research, I was shocked to find that the very same part regularly sells for $8! I was livid not only at the gouging (430% markup), but the nauseating hypocrisy as well. This business' "guiding principle" is "Love your neighbor as you love yourself" which is a verse from Mark 12:31. Under the clear coat finish of the counter top, was also promotional material for a pastor based in Oklahoma. A 430% markup over competing retail cost is not only un-Christian but down right unconscionable. Proverbs 16:8 says "Better is a little with righteousness than great income with injustice". Even the tort system limits damages to 3 times the loss amount. If the business would have sold me the part at 50-100% markup, i.e. $12-16, I would have happily given a much higher review. Paying a small premium for the convenience of getting a much needed part on short notice is fair. However, benefitting from someone's dire situation is not. read more

I paid $47.50 for a part I later realized cost an average of $10-13+($2-4)-s/h (on line). Please avoid if you have a few day to order on line. Over priced, marked up at least 3x's. Good place to do business if you have no problem with feeling cheated. SMH read more

Good service , the employee was a big help and they had my capacitor in store, other places said it was hard to find 80/12.5/370 , also gave me some tips on checking my condenser fan motor . They do offer free testing of motors and capacitors . If you are comfortable doing your own repair this is a good place with good price one stop shop , no need to wait on delivery from Internet or calling anyone.they also offered good phone help that way I did not waste my time driving from north Fort Worth area . read more
