My fridge stopped cooling, I called Thompson's and they responded to my house within 3 hours. Craig was very professional and a nice person. He informed me that the fridge had a freon leak and was not worth the cost of repairing. I paid the service charge and thanked him for being so honest and not trying to rip me off. Went on my search for an oven repair service on a Sunday afternoon, sending out a few requests for information. I was pleasantly surprised to hear back from Diann with Thompson's Appliance. She answered a few questions and we were able to schedule service the following Monday. Craig arrived within the scheduled window time. He diagnosed the problem with our oven and repaired it within an hour. He was courteous and polite the entire time. I would recommend this company and would definitely call them again if the need arises. read more

Incompetence with attitude! That about sums up my experience with Mr. Thomson. He is listed on the Thermador webpage as an authorized repairman. But when he came to fix a problem of water in my Thermador fridge, he had no idea how to access the defrost drain. Shouldn't an authorized repairman have access to some service manual diagrams? After dismantling the inside of the box, he concluded that he can't get to the defrost drain from the inside and had to pull the fridge out and look in the back. After two hours, he did remove the dust ball from the defrost drain and set out to reassemble. But when done he had THREE screws unaccounted for and no idea where they go. He made a joke about it and guaranteed that the fridge `wasn't going anywhere'. During the job when he dismantled the fridge and put screws in random piles, I asked him if he will remember where the screws go. He replied that `there is method to the madness'. Two days later, I noticed a plastic piece at the base of the fridge. I took a picture and texted to him. He said that it goes by the water filter and that he had put that back already. I looked and there was no place for that piece by the water filter at the base. I think he just made that up. I searched online and the piece is a `dividing wall' which should go somewhere in the fridge box, nowhere near what he said. And he charged 300 for the two hours. Never returned to put the plastic piece back in the fridge. Avoid if you can. read more

I called Thompson's to ask for an estimate on a repair for my Cooktop. Over the phone, I told them exactly what was happening in exact detail. They sent someone out and took 2 min. to determine exactly what I had told them over the phone. The charge was $85 dollars and the tech was quite rude. Later I received an estimate for $750 for repairs. These folks were recommended by Electrolux. The tech never told or offered me a rebate on the service call if they did the repairs. read more

When I called to see if they had an appliance, I was told they didn't have it. It's a very common appliance, a microwave, and I didn't specify brand, just OTR. I asked what they sold instead and the woman said they did sell them, they just don't stock them. But she didn't want to discuss them over the phone, wanted me to come in. It's not convenient for me to go visit stores to price shop. This store used to have friendly employees back when they had a regular store with showroom. They don't seem to want to deal with individuals anymore. read more

All i know is that I called this place and ordered a part for my fridge. When the part came in, I went there with the broken part. The new part was a substitution and looked a little different( replacement parts at times may look a little different). The person behind the counter took a closer look and was not satisfied that that was the correct part, even though the broken part had a part number on it. She kept looking for about 20 minutes until she found the part that was actually needed. So instead of going home with a part that was incorrect, I went home with the correct part, and the correct part was half the price of the wrong part. I was quite happy and satisfied with the service and help that was provided. read more

Well, we just had Thompson's come out yesterday to assess what caused our refrigerator to quit working. It was only nine years old and new when we bought it. The repairman was on time and fairly nice. He found that a starter for the compressor had shorted out and burned. He explained that it had burned the posts on the compressor as well and we needed to buy a new refrigerator as there was no way to fix the problem. My son, who is an electrician asked him if we could buy a new starter and repair the posts and see if the compressor was still good, saving us the cost of a new frig. He said, no. The compressor would cost about $700-$900 and we might as well buy a new frig. We thanked him and paid the $86.00 for the service call and he left. My husband and son went down and bought a new starter part for $35.00 at ABCO appliance parts here in Arlington and the nice man told us these parts burn out all the time and most likely the compressor was still good. My son filed off the burned posts, put in the new starter and we found the compressor was just fine. The frig is working like a champ 24 hours later, freezer is now 10 degrees and the frig is 38-40 degrees. What a difference in price to fix the frig! We couldn't believe this guy's insistance that we needed to buy a whole new refrigerator. Never use Thompson's again for any thing! read more

Thompson's was referred to me by my usual maintenance company because my dishwasher had stopped working and my regular company doesn't do dishwashers. I was a little leary, because I only found 4 reviews online, and they were universally bad. But I trust the company that referred them and I'm glad I did. They called to let me know when they'd be there, they arrived on time, and they had the dishwasher running very quickly. Don't let those old (like several years old) reviews stop you. Customer service is certainly not their forte. They repaired a refrigerator and when we called Joe to tell him it was not working he told us that they could not come out today or even have the technician call us. I asked if the technician could come by first thing the next morning and he said that the technician would call within a two hour window the next day. I must be fair to say that Dale(technician) was very pleasant and seemed very knowledgable. I feel that the problem is management or lack of. It is apparent that they do not care about their customer satisfaction, Joe showed no empathy for a repair that has left us without a working refrigerator for 6 days before the attempted repair, and now there is a possibility that another 6 days(if parts are needed). In good faith I cannot continue to recommend this company. read more

Thompson's Appliance Repair and it's owner Craig Thompson are the worst. They are interested only in making money and do not care about the service that they supposedly provide. I called to have them repair a washer and dryer and was exploited by their exorbitant prices! I paid dearly ($400) for the repair and Mr. Craig Thompson never bothered to respond to my request to repairing the dryer after supposedly fixing the problem. He replaced a part,which was defective, and rather than come by and resolve the problem he took my money and left me hanging. His arrogance was evident when he told me that the problem I had with the "wrinkle prevent" cycle was my unfamiliarity with my dryer which I have had for over 7 years. When I called and spoke with Tina, his receptionist, on Monday, August 1, 2016 and scheduled an appointment for Friday, August 5, 2016 later that week and was told that he would call me @ 9:30 in the morning to let me know when he would be by. I did not hear from him. When I called @ 9:30 on Friday morning I was told that he was having "computer issues" but that he would call me. To my dismay, I never heard from him and today, August 12, 2016 makes it two weeks and still no call from him. He has no integrity in his business ethics and his word is a fallacy. He had mentioned that he had inherited the business from his father and I no longer wonder about his lack of professionalism. He has no pride and concern what the Thompson name stood for in the community. Do not employ his services as he is the modern day version of a thief. read more

DO NOT.....I repeat....DO NOT take your appliances here to be repaired, unless you like it when appliance repairs take twice as long and cost twice as much as you were originally quoted. My husband took our dryer to them to have two screws reset. He was told it would take about 24 hours and his credit card was charged a little over 40 dollars. Over 48 hours later, we had not heard from anyone at Thompson's regarding the status of our dryer so he called them to see if the repairs had been completed. At that time, he was notified that they had gone ahead and done another $43 dollars worth of work on the dryer without calling to notify us or obtain our approval for the additional work and charges. I called this morning to find out exactly why we were not notified that the repairs would take twice as long and cost twice as much as we were intially told. The first Thompson brother I spoke with was rather unapologetic, telling me that we "were being treated no differently than any of their other customers." I told him if that was the case, that certainly didn't bode well for their business practices. He admitted he told my husband that the repair would most likely be completed within 24 hrs and had no acceptable explanation why they did not call us to let us know why it would take longer or notify us they was a need for additional work and additional charges BEFORE proceeding. He chalked it up to being some type of "miscommunication" to which I responded that part of their JOB is communicating with the customer. While I was was speaking with the first Thompson brother, his brother picked up the phone, interuptted the conversation and proceeded to SCREAM at me. I told him several times that as customer, I didn't appreciate the way he was speaking to me, however he refused to stop screaming, so I finally hung up and sent my husband up there to pay their additional "ransom fee" so we could get our dryer back. I'd hate to see anyone else go through what we just went through or get treated the way we just got treated....so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE for your own good and the good of your pocketbook, STAY AWAY FROM THOMPSON'S APPLIANCE REPAIR!!!!! read more
