I came here on Saturday to buy boxes. There was no customer parking left (near the propane refill station), so I parked where the Uhaul trucks were. As soon as I was getting out of my car, I was told not to park there and I'd have to move to customer parking. Well, duh, how would that happen if parking was full right then? First impression: Another UHaul Location (Bell Ave) couldn't fulfill my reservation so they send us here. No big deal, but a deal nonetheless. So first impression, guy I met was nice and helpful, high energy, good impression. His coworker behind the desk was helpful and knowledgeable as well. So the star is for those guys. The loss of four stars is due to: Female coworker who suggested we use gift cards to make a reservation for $2,300 but apparently wasn't aware that you the website only allows Gift Cards to be purchased in values of $1,000 at a time. She also didn't know how to charge multiple gift cards in a single transaction. Whether that was due to her incompetence or a terrible U-Haul policy, I don't know, but it left a sour taste. Next off, when we finally got a truck, they couldn't produce it so they gave us another truck... 2 hours later. Another truck, that's passenger side mirror would fall limp and leave me blind on my flank while trying to drive across the Country. Great move, technicians. As I write this, I'm leaned over the hood of the truck because some technician failed to ensure the vehicle had transmission fluid in it, and of course, not a single shop in the area stocks the specific fluid the truck needs. But hey, U-Haul sent a technician out, 2 hours in the wrong direction. Thirty minutes after the suspense, we call and find out that the dispatcher is incompetent and they attempt to fix it. So now, we get to wait ANOTHER two hours because U-Haul failed to do one of the most basic tasks required to maintain a fleet. And unfortunately, it's not the one location that's the issue. Another family member in Louisiana received a trailer completely filled with trash, but the associates said it was all clean and good to go. Another occasion, a family member received a truck with a damaged trailer, and when the damage became catastrophic during a routine ride that the associate assured the truck would be fine for, they expected that family member to pay for the damages. What kind of customer service is that? Why is U-Haul so bad at maintaining a fleet and employing competent employees? Think of your last $2,000 transaction, and think of the experience you received. This will be the thing I think of whenever I consider ever using U-Haul again. Stay far away and take the advice I wish I would've: use Penske or Budget. Again, stay FAR away from U-Haul. read more

Damien helped me out so much. Very professional and respectful. I was so stressed from having to move suddenly, and he worked out the kinks and got me set up. My husband and I said walked in and no one acknowledged us, one girl was on the phone the other was mad because she was mopping, we needed help getting the right equipment and neither of them knew anything, we stood there trying to find the right equipment with neither of them offering any sort of help. We waited for assistance and nothing. All we needed was an adaptor to be able to rent a dolly . We ended up leaving and going somewhere else to find the adaptor and then going back to a different location. read more

I have to say this was the best moving experience I have ever had ! I had a 7:30 am appointment to rent a 17 ft truck. I was helped by the General manager Joseph Sanchez , and he was so kind . He was out of the 17ft but substituted a bigger truck free of charge . He also offered a trailer for free ! I was in and out with my rental in less than 10 minutes . First of all, I had made an online appointment but the truck was not ready. I waited until 10:40 for my truck although it was booked for 10:00 pick up. I mentioned that the last time I rented a truck that the PSI came on so to check the tires. When I picked up the truck and pulled off the lot, the tires were losing pressure. I had to pull aside and wait an hour for the tire to change causing me to miss my time to pick up my furniture so I had to wait another hour AND waste gas so I can keep the a.c. on in this Phoenix heat. When I spoke to the assistant manager, he said he couldn't do anything to help me with my horrible experience. The most he could do was waive $3.33 after taxes and give me a scripted "I apologize" statement ! That is a shame. Terrible service & experience!!! read more

I made an appointment online to get a hitch installed on my car here, and paid for all services/ labor costs as soon as i made the appointment. When it's time to go in to get it installed, I was told that it would not be installed that day due to them not having anyone certified. So i take my car back the next day, when their general manager is there. he tells me that i have to drop off my car and come back later for it. they had my vehicle for 2.5 hours before they call me and tell me once again, they are unable to complete the task. this time he said that he was unable to get my taillight off, so they're going to overnight another part and i'll have to bring in my vehicle back for a third day in a row. i take my car back the third day, and i'm there for another 3 hours before it's finished!!! i then had to go back a 4th day in a row because they didn't give me the ball mount, ball, or pin that i needed for the hitch, which i had already paid for 4 days ago. this is absolutely the worst experience with any uhaul i've ever had, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!! read more

U-Haul had the ability to negotiate a good price for us on our move. If they had not been so helpful, our move would have been hard. The truck was basic, but everything went off without a hitch. When check engine light came on when leaving the lot, the manager did help us out right away with a truck swap. Overall, I cannot complain, and we owe them some thanks for helping on the price a bit. I will use UHaul again. read more

We had no time to move her out. My Cousin was in a serious bind and needed a storage right away. All of her things had to be move out that evening. We called around and this place was the only storage open until 7pm. We went in frustrated and already tired but Joe (General Manager) was there and boy did he lift our spirits. By the end of the check in we'd forgot we were tired from all the laughing and joking. He helped us to make sure her things were safe that night and had a great time doing it! Thanks Joe! read more

The GM of this store, Damien Camacho is a joke. Hes rude, unprofessional and overall has horrible customer service. There was an issue with my bill and instead of calling me back to notify me that it has been fix, he avoided my messages for 3 days! Its not until I called HIS boss, Russ Baldwin, that he called me back within minutes, then asked me why his boss is calling him asking about my messages. I explained to him all he had to do was return my calls, he told me he had called back and left a message for me. I assured him he hadn't otherwise I would have went and emptied my storage over the weekend and his response? AND I QUOTE "well whatever, I know I did, what's the issue I can help you with?" Thank goodness for Chris! Shes a blessing at that store! As for Damien, being GM doesn't give you the right to be a jerk to your clients. If anything, you should have an even better attitude. read more

The staff here at this location are friendly. The general manager, Joseph Sanchez, is a litlle too "friendly". While completing the truck rental requirments, my husband stepped out of the building for a minute, Joseph Sanchez proceeded to reach over the counter placed his hand on mine, gave my hand a little squeeze, with his free hand he handed me a uhaul business card. He said "my cell phone number is at the bottom, call me anytime you need anything." He did not let go of my hand until my husband returned. Right before Joseph Sanchez released my hand, he squeezed it again, when I looked at him he smiled, winked and said "anything". I was in total shock. I could not believe it.
