While I am there another individual walks up also needing hardware. I see the Yelp listing says they open at 7! It's fine if they open later but tell people. Change your sign. Change your google listing. I live very close to Lowes, I made a special trip to support your local business. I asked a young employee for help but he seemed to be new so he walked up the isle to Robert to ask for help. Robert yells "what do you want?!" The kid says something & Robert says "go help her, I'm busy" as he's NOT helping anyone. Then he tells the kid "go get someone else to help her. What does she want?!" ALL this as I'm standing at the end of the isle where I could clearly hear him & his LOUD refusal to help the kid help me. He FINALLY walks over & I tell him to not speak to the kid like that in front of customers & that the way he was talking to him & about me was rude and not good customer service. The prices are fair, they give discounts to veterans, have helpful staff, and they run regular sales that are worth keeping track of. Make sure you sign up for their app and get your phone into their system so you can get good deals. Often there are plants outside that are well suited to our area and although they may cost a little more, they will probably be successful for you as they have for me. Drop by regularly since they have lots of seasonal items. Some years back they used to have a popcorn machine and it was such fun to browse around while munching some free popcorn. I wish they'd bring it back as it added a special festival atmosphere, even if they have to put a little coin box for people to kick in some quarters...Keep your money local and shop here when you can. It's in a pleasant little strip mall, Greenway Terrace, that has plenty of shops to help with your other errands too: with three restaurants, a day spa, cookie shop, barber shop, hair salon, dollar store, gift shop with a P.O. contract store, clothing store, dentist, flooring shop, insurance office, and hearing aid store.

I never leave bad reviews about any store because I never care enough. But the interaction I had today was actually crazy. I thought I might've been on a prank show. There was nothing wrong with my return -- I wasn't upset, I wasn't being difficult, and I had no problem with Harbor Freight's policy. I just asked a simple question about why the process seemed different than usual. In response, Elizabeth became visibly agitated, spoke over me, and said, "Since you're in the military, you need to learn some patience," referencing the uniform I had on. That comment really threw me off. I don't think wearing a uniform makes me better than anyone else, but it definitely doesn't make me the person you pick a fight with -- especially when nothing is wrong. I wasn't being rude or sarcastic, but she treated me like I was. The part that confused me the most is that she seemed to create a scenario in her head and then react to it. It felt like she was projecting some kind of frustration onto me, even though I was calm and just asking a question. The manager eventually stepped in to explain the return system, and I had to clarify multiple times that I wasn't upset with the policy at all -- I had no issue with the return process. My issue was her attitude and behavior, which turned a normal interaction into something extremely uncomfortable for no reason. She was escalating a situation that never existed. I left that store upset and confused. I've spent thousands of dollars at Harbor Freight and have always had good experiences -- until now. I hope this gets addressed, because that kind of customer interaction is unacceptable.

Got an aftermarket part for my car that required a 10" socket extension. I knew before even looking in my small tool collection that I do not own a 10" socket extension. Off to Harbor Freight! Located in the heart of Peoria. Plenty of ample parking. Super easy to spot. Parking lot and entry way are clean. I was greeted the moment I entered the store. Aisle was clearly marked. Found what I wanted in seconds. Checked out and paid for it immediately. The whole thing took a couple of minutes at best. It's unlikely I'll need to come here very often, but I was pleased with the experience I had yesterday!

As I walked in the first thing I noticed was the whole store was rearranged. All I came here to buy was fluorescent light bulbs. I mean I managed to find them quite quickly but even so the aisles were much longer than before. As anyone shopping for anything now many of the expensive items are locked up, which makes the shopping experience not so easy like it used to be. Just glad I was only looking for light bulbs and not something that was locked up. I have been a customer of the Ace Hardware stores for many years and only because I don't have to wonder through a bunch of items like your big hardware stores. Changes sometimes takes one to get used to but I don't often stop at this store very often so it's a good thing for me. This store is very busy on weekends and glad I have the opportunity to shop during the week. One thing I can say is that they always have good employees that are helpful. The west side you'll be in the self check out corral. Self check out- there's cameras and security you don't need four people just goofing around in their phones in this area when you could obviously put them to work with cashiering to cut the lines down, or have them stock and help get the store properly stocked. Security- there's an armed rent a security guard at the entrance not the exit which is weird. Restroom- what you'd expect from a Home Depot filthy!
