Lodi not good location to rent U-Haul . I ordered trailer ,an was not at location I ordered from, tried to send me to Galt. I ordered week early to get reservation from Lodi an still not available at time or location promised. They asked how they could fix my problem , not my problem U-Haul messed up location an time. Most of the workers were helpful, especially on return. But I would have appreciated them telling me that the truck didn't have a ramp! What's ironic is when I picked up the truck there was another guy there that was complaining that his trailer rental didn't have a ramp and that he specifically asked for a trailer with a ramp when he reserved it 1 week before picking it up. When I returned the truck the guy helping me outdoors was awesome, worked fast and hard, but the guy at the desk was somewhat of a sloth, and he had to be passing gas the whole time because it stunk bad at the desk. We rented a truck for the day just to move our stuff from storage then we get to the storage and the truck ran like crap the whole way to the storage. But when we got there and had everything loaded up it wouldn't even start. So we were chill about it we just thought hey they would send a new truck but nope they make us wait an hour for a somebody to come look and tell us what's wrong. I needed a trailer with a ramp so I could load a fridge by myself. I was told they only had 6x12 trailers with ramps, not the 5x9. Ok, they can only rent me what they have available. I showed up, and witnessed what another reviewer complained about. A guy had scheduled a hitch install, and they said they had no one available and no hitch that fits his truck. They guy was obviously mad. The only recourse he was offered was to come back Monday and he could call a number to file a complaint. The person who helped me was nice, and the trailer was nice. That is the reason for 3 stars. However, I was frustrated to see two 5x9 trailers with ramps sitting there, available, when I hooked up the 6x12. At that point it was too late. I had to get going. I experienced a terrible week with U-Haul, the main system for reservations had me driving all over TWO TOWNS trying to get equipment. The people here at Lodi U-Haul- were the ONLY people who were accurate with their reservations and helpful! Great customer service- and made up for the terrible week and multiple issues we had with U-Haul as a corporation, and all the other facilities we visited. I went in to U-Haul yesterday about 30 minutes before they closed to get propane and this young gentleman Jacob had the best customer service for such a younger Man my husband strapped down the tank Jacob did not hesitate to. Help me get the tank out of my truck and after he was done filling it he asked me if I wanted him to strap it down for me since I really kind of didn't know what I was doing but he made sure that it was strapped down safely so I can get back home. Horrible horrible horrible we needed a auto transportation we called the Lodi branch got transferred everywhere but Lodi branch.. spoke to a man took my credit card information. So I'm thinking I got the trailer I needed.. NOPE he transferred me this happened for literally 45 min!! So I drove down to Lodi branch spoke to the most unhelpful man EVER named Alex and older man named Jessie if they gave me there real names !! his attitude was .. it wasn't his problem they were closing in a hour.. didn't offer to look at other locations nothing!!! we figured he wasn't gonna help us we left never ever ever again will I use Lodi location not to mention uhaul in a whole sucked .. note to everyone don't call a 2 hours before closing they will just transfer your called till there closed!!! read more

Horrible. Promised to have a vehicle in the morning. Gave us a confirmation number the whole bit. Apparently they never had he vehicle back from the previous customer. So here we have plans to move our grandma into an assisted living facility and have to be out of the current apartment today and are basically screwed by Uhaul and they don't bother to offer any other options. They should not give customer a false sense of having a secured rental when they don't have the requirement to rent. Going forward I'll be sure to use Penske !!! read more

Horrible!!! We scheduled an appointment a week ago to have a hitch installed, dropped it off today, came back 2 hours later and they had not even started the work. They said they could not promise they would get to it that day. It seems unloading pods from a semi was more important to them. They obviously do not think customers with an appointment are a priority. I would never come back here and would not recommend this U-Haul to anyone. read more

Try something else! dishonest business. Rude staff, worst customer service. I made my reservation online for the Tam O'Shanter site in Stockton but they didn't have the vehicle I wanted, so U-Haul directed me to the Lodi site. While waiting in line I heard a guy express his frustration in trying to get his refund. I picked up the truck after more than 25 minutes of wait. Line again when returning the truck the next day. But when the receipt was mailed, they charged me a whole extra day of rental because I had to wait in line and the truck was checked back into the system 11 minutes late. They also charged me $302.72 a day later, as if I had made two reservations. When I called to dispute the charges, twice the lady claimed that the system is slow and she could not make any changes. She said she will call me back. She never did. Their customer service is a bogus number. Nobody answers the line. I read online that 95% of customers have a negative experience with U-Haul. I should have checked before I made a reservation with U-Haul. Lesson learned. read more

This u-haul specifically was one of the best u hauls i've ever been too, the salesman there was SO helpful in picking out the truck i wanted to drive, and help me learn how to drive it correctly. The truck was amazing and drove so smooth and hard from point a to b again and again, made my move much easier. honestly i wanted to drive it all day. I have rented from this uhaul 3 times now. Good experience, other than it can take a while if picking up on a Saturday, which probably should be expected. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful and the trucks have always been in good condition when I pick up. I'll definitely use them again. read more

We rented two climate control units from this place. The gate keys never work. We always have to go inside and have them rekey them which takes forever because there's always a line and they're really slow. We moved over the summer and rented two outside units to store things until we received the keys to our new home. I stood there for 45 minutes waiting for someone to remove the temporary lock. A guy came and told me I could just wait because he was helping someone else and it was just too bad for me. I informed him that I was not moving until I was helped and therefore he would not be closing in 30 minutes if I was still standing there. One of my movers used to work there and got someone else to help us. When we came to load the units they complained that my moving truck was taking too much room and they needed to let a semi in. I informed them that was their problem and when my truck was loaded we would move. They also have messed up the records and my name is not on the unit only my husband's. So last time I went in to have them fix the gate key, this guy sneered at me and told me "you're name's not on it. Why should I fix your key?" The other lady working informed him it was their mistake, I had been in there a few days earlier, and to fix the key. Now. I called U-Haul to complain about this guy and they never bothered to call back.Neither did the manager. Don't rent anything from this place. The employees are rude, the process takes forever, they can't keep their records straight, the gate keys never work. And their least concern is customer service. So if you have a problem (and inevitably you will) it won't get resolved and you'll be frustrated. The employees will treat you like crap because they can and there's no consequences to it. read more

We were coming back to California, from Idaho with a trailer full of stuff. Our trailer broke down on a Friday evening. They were so helpful, they helped us unload and load into a u-haul trailer, and stored our broken trailer in their yard for a few days. Above and beyond the call of duty. This location has made mistakes. Employee's once in a while make a small mistake, however, after speaking to Gil The field manager it turned to a large problem. I have a storage unit at the Lodi location. No big deal $95 a month easy and cheap. When my unit was unfortunately canceled by mistake I was told I would receive a free month. One month later I didn't get my free month and I went into the store to ask what happened. I met Gil that told me he had 12 years with the company and that he is the field manager for many stores. He looks up my file and say I got my free month and the records were correct. I'm getting frustrated at this point and explained that's not right. Gil asks me to prove it by giving him my bank records. No thanks. Lucky I took my time contacted the general manager Chris and I hope for the sake of uhaul this field manager is removed from his current duties or is retrained with regards to proper customer service. read more
