And that location has customers coming to your location ... you really should know not only the cross streets to your location but which corner you are on ... southwest, northeast etc... Probably even more critical if you work for a storage facility. Moving trucks are not easy to maneuver and especially around busy intersections. I didn't set up the rental and had never been there. I was helping a friend from out of state get his mom moved. Nobody I was with knew which side of the street the facility was on. I called the location to verify the cross streets and then asked apparently the most frightening question of all... which corner are you located .... Dead silence but she retrieved a map .... After a couple of minutes looking she said Northeast corner..... nope!!! Close though !!! Anyway hopefully the managers will read this and make sure those who answer the phones know exactly where the facility is located. The young lady was very nice.

The elevator in the second building got broke by two pissed off, former customers who were angry about the prices going up & they destroyed the elevator, causing people to have to use the stairwell. This elevator should have been fixed as soon as the incident happened. I know musicians who store their gear here & they were NOT happy about having to lug their gear up & down the stairs! Now that the elevator has been fixed, things are better for all. The a/c in the second building could use repair, however. The saving grace, if there really is one, are very nice gals who work there. They are AMAZING! Please give them a raise!

I can understand needing to raise prices but raising someone's rent 400% within a year is crazy. People are living out of units with nails throughout the road/access way by the units. They also don't have a person on site to talk with you about any of this. Everything is virtual corporate communications. Warning: extreme rate hikes whenever they want. Extra Storage increased my rate from around $100 a…read moremonth to $200 a month. The only notice you get for this is a postcard in the mail, everything else they call and email to make sure they reach you. When I called to ask why my rate was increased they said it's based on market rates. I suspect they don't try to notify people of this by phone or email for a reason. So be aware Extra Storage can increase your rate by a lot after you have stored your stuff there, and of course they don't tell you this when you're first getting a unit with them. A slight increase I can understand but this feels more like practices that are designed to take advantage of customers. This location does have nice staff and is well maintained though.

The prices were decent and my pay period was set up mid month. US Storage took over, changed the pay period to the first of every month and now if I'm even a day late, I'm charged a very expensive late fee. I called to try and talk to someone about the pay period changing and was told I should just try to pay two months early or months in advance. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to pay almost $600 for a 10x10 space. I've just had to pay the late fee pretty much every month at this point because I relocated to the Tucson area temporarily for my fiance's job (I work from home). We will be back in the Mesa / Gilbert area so I wanted to keep the storage unit. Today, I drove the two hours with my car full to drop off at the unit and I was unable to enter and the code said to see the manager. I went to the front office and there was a sign saying no one will be back until tomorrow. I called the phone number and the lady who answered confirmed my payment went through, but a Manager had to physically be at the location to allow me to enter and unlock my unit, because I paid 7 days past the first. She said they would not be available until tomorrow. I explained it was a four hour trip for me and I did not have the option to drive back tomorrow. She was very polite on the phone and apologized and explained no one was working at this location today, which is on a Monday and around 1:40pm and was well within their advertised work/office hours. I have never left a negative review in my life, but this is so bad that as soon as I have money saved to get a Uhaul to move everything from this location, I will be leaving and never renting from this company and will be sure to let everyone know to avoid this company.
