Calling in you get an answer on the 1st or 2nd ring, communication is concise, direct and 100% informative. The same people are there all the time, which I love and they seem to know everything about their store and are quick to answer any questions I have. Insurance is way more expensive than Uhaul but it's due to Penske's commercial nature and how they service both residential and commerical clients, whereas uhaul is primarily residential. I have only used a lift gate once before I started renting from Penske and it is a night and day difference. I really can't go back. The Penske trucks are larger, but definitely require a ladder in order to access 100% of the available cargo space, which is standard for a straight truck. I've found them consistently having fresh vehicles in - only a few hundred or a few thousand miles on the odometer sometimes. Their 26 foot straight trucks feel a bit bigger/larger than the uhaul vehicles, and I personally don't like driving them around the small tight streets of Kensington or South Philadelphia but these trucks also weren't designed for those areas. Their 16 foot Isuzu box truck w/lift gate is an absolute dream and is the standard for modern trucking. The design of the cab and the windows is breathtaking and it feels so much safer - I can see so much more of the road, pedestrians, etc. What's more, whenever I call to other locations, or call the 1-800 number it's the same thing over and over again - concise, direct, professional service. They *must* be spending good money on training their employees before they ever hit the office by themselves because the difference in service quality is absolutely night and day between Penske and Uhaul. Penske literally changed the way we do business and has saved us so much and allowed us to do so much more. Can't wait to go through 2017 with them.

I needed a truck to move a bunch of items one way to New York. The way that U-Haul works for…read moreone-way moves is they won't tell you where your truck will be assigned to you until a day or two before, which made me extremely anxious. I had asked for the U-Haul location at 12th and Washington, but the day before I was assigned this location. Which was fine because it is equally convenient to me and I had actually not even known it was here. Unlike my prior experiences at the 12th and Washington location, when I went to pick up the truck it was not crowded at all. The location was super clean and well organized. The truck I needed was available. Javier helped me and he was knowledgeable, courteous, and helped me pick out a few other items I needed to purchase. The truck was clean and drove well. Javier showed me the few things on the truck that I needed to know in order to drive it. The whole experience was very efficient. Next time I need a truck rental I'm going to come here as my first choice. I've read some of the other negative reviews here, and that was just not my experience at all.

This location is a joke. Had very bad experience here. First…read moreof all, they add equipments inside the truck without the consumer knowledge. Next thing they tell you " equipment is inside with zip ties. If you pop the zip ties you will get charged". Cool is obvious, but in my case the items they were getting loaded in the truck were oversized and ended up popping the zip ties. They're also mats above the dolly which secure the dolly to prevent on moving. In order to use the dolly you have to remove the mat's. Meaning there's sign that dolly was not use. Who ever rent for here make sure you get a rental that has no equipment( if not needed). Also be careful with gas, apparently to them I didn't return the truck with the right gas range . They will get you with that. They want you to pump more than the actual range. Don't get fooled because is close to you. Find a location where things feel right!
