I wasn't planning to lapse from my vegetarianism quite so theatrically, but about three quarters of the way through my first mug of the darkly seductive, tank-delivered Kozel, the little goat on the beer mat whispered "vepřové koleno." A third of the way through Mug Two, a dark-beer braised pork knuckle the size of my head was delivered with a jolly flourish by a member of the restaurant's prompt and insouciantly friendly service crew. Wonderful! The front room is for dining. The shady patio in the back is for the bar. We had the pork medallions with bleu cheese and edam - excellent!! Green beans came with bacon and garlic and were the best I've had. The broccoli and rice side dish was outstanding. The pork tenderloin with pepper sauce was gobbled by my son before I could even get a taste of it. We left really happy and wondering when we can eat here again during our 24 hour stay. . read more

This is perfect pub especially for students, because it´s cheap, meals are big and beer is good. We used to go there at least once per week :-) The visits are not so common these days but still. They have a garden which is not really fancy but is good enough. Meals are good, I would say better average and the plates are pretty full so you have two options: two get stuffed or to have a breakfast the next day :-) Beer is good. They take a good care of a pipes. And service is ok. We have never had a problems with them. All and all it´s not something extra special but it´s still a perfect pub to eat and drink for student´s prices and play mariáš (czech card game). read more

Whoever is close to this restaurant should go there! The service was so great, the location really nice (they have very nice and rustique interior inside, but we sat outside in the beer garden, because the weather was so nice) and the staff is extremely friendly. One of the best service we ever had going out in Prague. The food was not only plenty and really delicious, it was also not very expensive. There are also a few vegetarian options (I'm a Vegetarian myself) and they have a mix of Czech food and Mexican style dishes. All in all an enjoyable stay and I would always recommend this place and will go there again next time I'm in Prague. read more

We've been here on a Monday evenig. We had no problem finding a place to sit in the beergarden which is very comfortable. The drinks are good and cheap, the service was very nice and paying attention to the guests. No problems with the cheque. The food was super good, even though the roast beef was a LITTLE BIT chewy. Pretty nice place close to the college campus. We were able to order and eat and pay the bill within an hour. I ordered the chicken tereza and the chicken was well seasoned but the fries were not. It balances out nicely though because you can eat the fries with the chicken. Prices are decent for the portion size (140 crowns). They even have this cool toilet seat in the bathroom that looks like a lime. The waiters can be kind of weird since it seems like once you get their attention they just walk away but I think it was because they are trying to find someone who speaks English. read more

Great place in Zizkov. Almost everyone who eats there is from Czech Republic. You probably won't be able to communicate in English but there is also and english menu so you will be able to order something. But I have to say that prices in english menu were higher... And there was no daily offer. So I recommend to try to translate czech menu and order some lunch menu (for 85czk) Servings are gigantic. It was imposible to eat both soup and the second dish... If you're a tourist DONT GO HERE! The waiter was an absolute jerk. As soon as we arrived we had to work to even get him to acknowledge us. Upon rolling his eyes and saying "good luck on finding a table" we found a table where a group had just departed. We waited at a table for 20 minutes as he helped every table except ours and another couple (who were tourists as well) with drinks and food. He never looked or came to our table ONCE. What blatant ignorance. THEN, after giving the table next to ours a round of drinks, he finally looks at us and winks in a very prick manner and walks off, as if taunting us. A friend in our group then went to the bathroom and he took him the wrong way. After finally giving him the correct directions he then said "be careful" as if trying to spook an infant. This place is an absolute joke. Did I mention they never cleaned the table? Don't go to this dump of a hole! The service is a night mare and they hate tourists. Unbelievable the utter disrespect my group witnessed. This place should be avoided. Spare yourself the agony. You'd be better off any where else.
