Both women greet you at the door, with warm welcomes and big smiles, as if you are waking into their home. I bring my 3 year old daughter to the salon and they dote on her like two aunties. First time going here and although I had an appointment, I still waited 20 mins.... I paid $140 for gel mani and gel pedi!!! I've never paid $140 anywhere= $70 spa pedi and $70 gel polish manicure? My daughter decided to try U_Ni and was very happy with her nails. She's a teenager and hard to please. Lol. So I decided to try too and am definitely going back. First, I never knew this salon existed. It's behind Main St adjacent to the fire house. When I showed up for my appointment, Grace was ready for me. The salon was very warm and welcoming -- both staff and customers. As Grace was working on my gel fills, I realized my nails were not well done previously. They were very thick. She spent a lot of time correcting my nails and she was meticulous. I was in the chair for 90 min. I think it'll be much quicker next time since they now look like natural nails. I was able to call and get in within an hour for a mani/pedi. The salon was clean and decently decorated inside. It was not the most relaxing environment, but most nail salons aren't. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the owner. She went above and beyond to help me get the right color I was looking for. Very disappointed! Been going here for 3 years since we moved here, they switched owners 2 years ago, Uni and her mom Grace very nice. Though expensive, I am usually pleased, figure prices are post Covid.! Well ,today got a whole new set and was charged $120!!! I told her that was ridiculous, only an hour and a half, nothing fancy, no problems, actually only 9 nails got the new tips........well needless to say, I will never go back! I am not cheap, but I am also not a fool or multi milionaire! Also, the quality of sevice and work done is only average...I have had better, but it is close to home. I found the salon customer service to be attentive when you are a new customer. Once you have become a frequent guest, you just stop being "taken care of". However, this is not why I decided to write this review. It's the cleanliness of this establishment. Some of the staff is simply dirty. One of the girls looks like she has not washed her hair in a month. The desks are dusty and the product is old. My manicure or pedicure doesn't last over one week. I'm so happy I tried this nail place especially because there are newer owners and a completely different (in the best way) from the previous chester nails. They do a fantastic job on my full gel (no nail extensions glued on)... they stay on and beautiful for over 2 weeks. Uni and the others do an amazing job painting and are all skilled at the latest trends like ombre french, the perfect pink/beige neutral combo, iridescent and other nail art. My nails are perfectly shaped. I've been to dozens of nail salons in the area and near the city over the years to get all sorts of extensions and nail art and this is the best one yet. the pedicures are also great but i've gotten a mixed bag of luck with the actual painting/filing depending on the nail tech but overall good. read more

I went to get a set of acrylic nails for prom and graduation. I could not be more upset with how they turned out. They are all uneven in length and crooked. The only think I am pleased with is the color. They charged me 100 dollars for the set. Every single other place I have ever gone to had done them better for cheaper. The constant upselling at this salon is aggravating- if I go in for a manicure only, I need a "fill in", meanwhile they filled my nails less than a week ago, or I need "a massagee, you try", or "what color gel you want ". Essie marshmallow for white, Essie worth the wait, then top coat. I brought polish with me. Leah said she never heard of the colors, they must be so old. Essie 2015 bridal nails, I got married early 2016. I wound up w/the ugliest nails ever for my wedding, Leah would not even make the white part of my nails white with the gel she insisted upon, so my nails were a thin line of white, a thick line of gray-ish dirty looking nail as opposed to the ludicrously white gel, then not the natural color I wanted. Tri-color nails? I was so embarrassed, wish I had time to go to a real nail salon to fix it. I had paid for my girlfriend and her girls who were in wedding party to get their nails manicured, and for Chester Nails to glue on the starfish nail art I bought.(Got to love it, I pay for nail art, they charge $3 to put some glue on and stick it on a child's finger). First Leah tried to tell me one of my best friends had called and wanted an upgrade, wanted gel nails with extensions and pedicures for all. Texted gf, she said absolutely not. I asked for my nail art back, Leah then tried to tell me that none of my 50 pieces of nail art (starfish, shells, mermaids, my wedding theme) were left, said my gf took them, then kids knocked them on floor. When I started texting gf, Leah suddenly found them, gave them back to me. She told me "we make lot of $, don't need your nail bling". Don't need it, so why didn't you give it back to me when I asked? I've been getting the gel version of acrylics for years, they call it pink and white, it's the only way I can keep polish on. Recently I've read a great deal about the possible carcinogenic effects of the ingredients, decided to take them off, I knew I would have to cut my nails super short because they would be weak, breaking and peeling from the removal process. Went to the place I've been going to for years, Chester Nails, only because hours are convenient for me, but they did not want to take off the gel coating they put on, Leah, who runs the place, keeps telling me "just keep it on, if take off, must put on color gel". I explained to her I wanted to go back to my natural nails. She told me "I'll be sorry". Yeah, I'm sorry. Sorry I ever put the gel on my nails, sorry I went to this salon. Instead of dissolving the gel in acetone, they ground off the gel, along with several layers of my natural nail. What was left when they were done was thinner than paper, and it hurt. The women who ground it off left patches of gel on my nails. I now have pink and white blotches on my uber-thin nails from their removal technique. Dermatologist said they should have removed them properly, with acetone (which he said is not great to have on your hands either). So now, I just have to wait for them to grow back, and go see dermo again if there is not any improvement, or my nails continue to hurt. When I first had Chester Nails remove my gels, with their harsh tools (seriously, they take a small dremel-like device to your nails), what they left me with was nails so weak and peeling, they were shorter than my nail bed. And I have to keep cutting and filing as layers of my nail lifted off. Thank god my nails grow quickly, they keep hitting the ends of my fingertips, I keep cutting. And I will till all of the nail they damaged is gone. Run, don't walk. read more

This nail salon is amazing. Uni and her staff are so professional and great at what they do. I always come for a gel manicure and they greet me, take my jacket off, and hang it up for me. The manicure comes with a massage and hot towel which i love. The prices are fair and they put my jacket on for me and even hold the door for me when I leave. I have never had such a bad manicure and pedicure in my life. They tried to up-sell me on the pedicure. I said no, so they completely passed on sloughing my feet with the pumice stone. Came out of there with rough heels and flaky dry skin on my small toe. The manicure, another fiasco. All the nails are now a different length, and I even have a couple that are not even straight. The last time I went I did get the "upsell" for a massage when I had already upgraded to a spa pedicure that included a massage plus the massage that basically every salon gives you at the dryer with a pedicure. The weird radio station that was playing was a turn off too, it was some sort of pledge for religion... And most of it was talking. Not exactly relaxing and very distracting when I was trying to read. I had enjoyed this place in the past so this was a let down for me this time. Still looking for a great salon. read more
