So Uhaul called me the day before our BIG move and told me they DID NOT have a truck,... ugh! I had no clue what we were going to do until a friend mentioned this company U-PACK. I looked them up on the BBB to make sure they were legit. I then called and set up a truck for the next day. It was very easy. Everytime I had a question and I called they were very helpful. The truck was delivered, we packed it as best we could. They came for it - delivered it and we unloaded. In order to get the most for your money you do need to pack as high and tight as possible. Really pay attention to how and where you put your stuff. Wrap up your breakables and take advantage of EVERY space you can. They do charge by the foot and if you use less than what you paid for they give you a refund. If I ever need to move again I will call U-PACK first and let them do the driving. Stay far away from this company- honestly, you are better off selling all of your belongings than trying to coordinate a move with the hell that is UPack. We have NEVER been more dissatisfied with a company ever. Working with Upack made our move an absolute nightmare and due to a LIFE ALTERING error their computer system made, we really weren't sure we'd be able to move at all. We ended up paying $1500 more than we were originally quoted, due to scrambling to get another pod, hiring additional movers due to your error. We scheduled cubes for our move from Denver to NC. I called and confirmed the reservation on the phone and spoke with a human, who assured me 2 Relocubes would be enough for our two bedroom apartment (1200 Sq ft.). Nobody did any type of walk through for an accurate estimate. Our cubes were supposed to arrive between 8 a.m and 12 p.m. We made sure there were places they could be parked, set out cones, and waited. Mind you- we have movers coming the next day and we are OUT OF OUR APARTMENT that Monday, July 17, with flights booked to our new state. As of Monday we have nowhere to live. There is very little room for error. When our "Relocubes" didn't arrive. I called to confirm and was informed our RESERVATION HAD BEEN CANCELED. For some reason, when I went in to add my billing information two days before our delivery date, it CANCELED the entire reservation. I was receiving updates, confirmations, could manage the move using their dashboard, and received ZERO communications that they had been canceled. One of the worst things about this company is the lack of any sense of urgency all of their staff have. After three extremely frustrated phone calls, finally the woman called me back, and agreed their system had made a terrible error, and told me Denver was the only service center that delivered on weekends and they could get me the pods the following day. The movers filled the two cubes, and about ONE THIRD of our apartment was left. AND this was AFTER we had gotten rid of several pieces of furniture including a mattress and a bed, so technically we didn't even have the furniture of a two bedroom. THEY ARE SMALL. NOW We have two cubes filled, a bunch of stuff left in our apartment and our movers can't come back on Sunday. I call UPack, and request another cube be delivered the following day. For another $1,250- which was NOT what we budgeted for- being assured the two cubes would be adequate. AND now we have to scramble to find MORE movers that can help at a moments' notice. Having been told the cube delivery occurred "in the morning- between 8-12," I hired a mover to come at 1 pm, figuring that would be late enough that the final cube would've been delivered. NOPE. Once again. There was ZERO sense of urgency, and the person we hired ended up sitting around for an hour before the cube even arrived, and ended up staying longer than his designated period due to the delayed delivery. Whenever I called and asked for an update, I was given vague answers like "after lunch...." The next day, we fly to North Carolina, and as soon as we land, I see I have a voicemail and see THEY DELIVERED ANOTHER CUBE INSTEAD OF PICKING UP OUR THREE THAT WERE PACKED. On Tuesday the pods had STILL not been picked up. NOW there were FOUR pods, at a property I NO LONGER lived at.. As the end of the day neared, I called the Denver pick up center to ask when the pods would be picked up, and was told by a VERY rude woman, "YOU ARE ON THE BOOKS, WE HAVE UNTIL FIVE." They were delivered with no issue, and once we unloaded them, I called immediately to request they be picked up on Monday 7/31. Monday came and went and the pods were still there. I have absolutely no idea why they tell you to schedule a time, when Upack literally operates on their own schedule with no respect for the customer. I got a measly $250 back after spending a month trying to get this company to take any accountability. Due to the critical system error, we had to completely rearrange our move, and there was zero accountability or concern for our time and huge life change. I will be warning all of my friends and family NOT to use this company. read more

You don't need me to tell you moving can be stressful. When weighing options about how to get our stuff from Point A to Point B, I was very overwhelmed. In the end, we decided to try the POD/box option of which there are three big companies: PODS, U-Haul and U-Pack. When pulling quotes, I learned about U-Pack's trailer option which was a little cheaper than their cubes and also offered flexibility of using as much (or as little) space as we needed from the 26 foot trailer. We took a chance and went this route! From the get go, it was really easy to book and allowed for a good amount of flexibility in terms of timing. Every time we scheduled a pickup or dropoff, it happened on schedule. I liked U-Pack because they promised the shipment to arrive quicker than other carriers (5-7 business days). Respectfully communicative 4. Cheapest I found for a cross country relo cube/pod 5. Customer focused -- everyone I chatted to was friendly and well-spoken 6. When they didn't show up to drop off my cube, they took off a days rental rate -- and the next day they arrived early in the drop off window. But, they aren't perfect -- there is no customer service on Sunday, and sporadically (?) on Saturdays as well so you need to plan ahead for pick ups/drop offs. Also, they there is no climate control option but I was okay with that. Overall, I loved talking to real people instead of email/automated systems, they were quick to acknowledge if there was a mistake, and they were the cheapest (note, I didn't say cheap -- I had no idea how expensive relo cubes were) I found. read more

We have used U-Pack trailers twice now to make two moves to the Oregon coast. It worked very well the first time. We had a problem the second time when the trailer was delivered the driver failed to unlock the door for us. We discovered this when the movers showed up and we couldn't get the door up. After frantic calls it was decided we would cut the lock. After running to the office for bolt cutters we got in only to discover the promised ramp was missing. ABF has promised to reimburse us for the wasted time and we feel this is still an excellent way to make a move. Used their big semi truck 2 times in one month. First time the whole 28 foot truck and the second time only a portion of the 28 foot truck. Moved from Denver to San Diego. Best price than any other moving company. Hire local movers to load, local movers to unload and upack to drive the truck. Worked great and everything was on time. No complains. On the first trip the truck was too full to fit the loading ramp but upack said no problem and made two trips (1 to pick up the truck and 1 to pick up the ramp) for no extra charge both at departure and arrival destination. We had a cube shipped from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Englewood, CO. The experience at the beginning was good. The guy on the phone knew what he was talking about and the person who dropped off the cube was a really cool guy. I called to schedule delivery of the cube, and the lady caught an attitude with me because I couldn't accept delivery of it until after 1PM. First of all, how do you give a 9 hour delivery window? And why did I have a choice of three 4 hour windows for the initial cube delivery? Okay moving on, we opened the cube, and EVERYTHING was destroyed. I understand its being forked onto and off of trucks and being driven across the country, but the damage caused is from something more. This cube must've been dropped off a forklift or laid on its side. We had floor lamps pierce through book cases and cabinets absolutely obliterated into dust. Sent in a complaint email with details and images and asked for a refund. Refund question is dodged and im given a link to file a claim. First of all, the bottom of the claim says they will only pay out something like $0.10 PER POUND of damaged goods. okay yea so my $3000, 1lb laptop will be comped for $0.10? Whatever, I figured ill submit the claim so that they have a ticket going and ill ask for at least a refund for the service. The claim page doesn't submit. I've tried on my Mac using 3 different browsers, my windows pc, my iPhone and my iPad. They want me to print out a pdf and manually fill it in and fax it! Yeah let me drive 20 minutes to find the last fax machine on earth to send in a claim. Worst customer service ever and I can't warn you away from them enough. read more

Overall, using U-Pack simplified our cross-country move with the flexible delivery and pickup of their moving trailers from our point of origin. The local teams were amazing! Everyone we worked with from the Denver team was friendly, responsive, and helpful. The "corporate" calls were less helpful, but as soon as I could talk with someone in the local office, all went well. My only issue is with the amount of time it took to get our second trailer. We moved from Colorado to South Carolina, with an estimated arrival time for our trailers of 7 - 9 business days. U-Pack delivered our first trailer on June 3 and picked it up on on the 5th while delivering the second trailer. They picked up the second trailer on June 7. The first trailer was delivered to us in South Carolina in the timeframe expected. It's now June 24, and our second trailer MAY arrive sometime this week or next. I appreciate the fact that U-Pack doesn't combine residential goods from multiple families on one trailer. Instead, if a trailer isn't full, they load freight from corporate customers. However, our trailer apparently sat in Denver for several days waiting for additional freight. It seems that a company this size would have better control of the "additional freight" that they load onto less-than-full trailers of residential goods. Bottom line, we're on day 13 still waiting for our second trailer. I would still recommend U-Pack based on our general experience with the local folks on both ends of our move. read more

U-pack is the best thing since sliced bread. I can't believe how easy our move went with them. The best part is that they got our container to our destination within 2-4 days. Most other movers I called said they would deliver our stuff in 7-14 days. And charged 4-6x more than U-Pack. I actually had a double move, since my 88 yo mother was moving too. Her snobby condo board wouldn't allow the container to be dropped off so U-Pack told us we could pack the crate at their location and would even get a discount. So I hired some guys to load all her stuff in their truck and then pack the crate at their location. We saved almost $500 that way. Then it turned out that my mother, instead of paring down her things, actually was taking along a lot of stuff, so I had to call at the last minute and request a second crate. They were able to accommodate me and gave us the same discount for the second one. The crate arrive right on time and everything went smoothly. Despite some shifting of the boxes upon opening the crate, nothing was damaged. I can't say enough good things about moving using U-Pack containers. It is economical, efficient, reliable and easy. If all you need is a trailer and someone qualified to drive it cross a good distance, U-Pack is perfect. Drop off and pickup were a breeze, the drivers on both ends were great. I loved the fact that I could request a specific amount of space in the truck and go over it (and pay for it) if needed. The ability to store the trailer for a month (or longer if needed) while we closed on our new home was an added bonus. We saves a bunch over the pods style move but had to load the truck and unload it over a matter of days instead of bit by bit. We hired local movers to help with the heavy stuff. My only issues was that the commercial trailer is taller than your average haul sale truck so make sure you have a place to park the trailer where it isn't going to wreck your trees. I also had to get a permit to park it on the street in Denver. read more

Ten Stars - I'm not sure where to begin. I move approximately every 4 years and I will never use anyone else but U-Pack. From the moment I made contact with the gentleman in Tampa (so sorry I forgot your name) who was so so nice and worked with me constantly changing dates and times and was so easygoing and nice about it, I knew I made the right choice. Juan, who came to pick up my U-Pack in Tampa - and Chad - who delivered my U-Pack to my Denver location were both so kind and friendly and willing to work around my schedule and understood their job so well because they had worked with the stoage companies before so I didn't even need to provide many details on where they should park, etc.!!! Most of all, I want to tell you that the customer service is better than a using a psychiatrist! This move was very challenging for me. I was speaking with Brenda about the details of my move and toward the end of the conversation, she could tell I was getting upset and asked me to stay on the phone with her as she did not want to hang up with me being sad. She talked with me and was so upbeat, kind and reassuring that by the end of the conversation I was completely geared up for this move! She should have been a therapist!!!!! She called me once I arrived in Denver to see how I was doing and to make sure the move was successful (separate from the standard call U-Pack makes).
