The process could not be simpler, from start to finish it was an amazing experience. If you do not know much about moving It would be in your best interest to call or go online to view this service. If you are able to load your own belongings this service is the way to go. Much less expensive then large and small moving companies. Cheaper than uhaul and you have to load and drive. With ABF Upack all you do is load and they take care of the rest. It is a large trailer unless you go with the cubes they offer so make sure you have the room and permission to leave a trailer there while you load it. My mom recently gave me her bedroom furniture along with some other items as she prepares to downsize in her old age. She lives in Miami and I live in Nashville. Through U-Pack I was able to have two storage cubes delivered right to her driveway. Once we were done loading. U-Pack picked up the containers and transported them back to Nashville. Right from the time of reservation to drop off , U Pack had excellent communications at both origin and drop off point. When I was told that the equipment will be dropped off within an hour, they were there at 50 minutes mark. Same experience with drop off. Also I was told that the transit will take 8 to 10 days and they delivered my box on 8th day!! My mom and I have never been more disrespected with customer service more in my life. I UNFORTUNATELY spoke with BOBBY who claims to be the supervisor. No supervisor would talk to a customer the way that he spoke to us. We specifically were told by Bobby that our cubes were going to be picked up on a certain day. We called twice the day before to ensure our things would be picked up since our closing of our sold house was the following day. Not only did he talk down to us but he wouldn't even let us get a word out. I had a great experience with U-Pack and ABF. I have recommended them to others. I just moved from Miami to San Juan Puerto Rico. I chose U-Pack as it seemed like a more commercial operation, with the ABF association, and the large size truck container, and the ability to control the loading myself. I found both service centers, Miami and San Juan really helpful, as well as the toll free number. My cost was determined by my estimate of cubic feet, if its not calculated properly, and packed tight, the cost will be way off. But the trailer was marked internally with foot markers, so there should be no surprises. The trailer drop off and pick up were on time, no issues. Friendly drivers. And the local PR office provided clear details on info needed to clear the port, (and spoke English). And my PR contact replied to one of my emails on the day after Thanksgiving even though the PR office was closed, to schedule the delivery. In Miami, my location was very urban with no room for a trailer container, we were planning on using several pickups to ferry all items to the container and load at the ABF facility, but they were only open weekdays, so we found a spot nearby at a friends, which was much closer, and parked the trailer there, then 15 or 20 trips with 2 pickups got all to the spot. I liked them because it was a large trailer, and they have residential customers load first, so if I underestimated load size, I could just expand and pay extra per foot. Secondly, I was not dealing with a moving company pressuring me to hurry up on moving day, we loaded over a weekend, using local friends. The lockable wall used to separate my goods form other freight is a good concept, but the wall was in bad shape, but we made it work. This is one area needing some newer upgrading. We locked a mattress in place at the end, high up, behind the wall to extend the wall height to the very top of the container, and make a tight fit. Absolutely the worst company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They dropped our cube off of a forklift and completely refuse to refund us. The customer service is ignoring my emails because they know they're at fault. Emailed a complaint with details and photos. Received a link to file a claim. The form doesn't work, on three different computers using all the major browsers. Finally I got fed up and sent them a screenshot of the form to use. Then a day later they "respectfully decline" to refund me for the awful service I received. NOTE: Even if they DO agree to give you anything back, they only pay out TEN CENTS PER POUND of damage. Your $2,500 laptop? Yeah that's worth A DIME. Customer service is rude and absolutely useless. I've put in 7 requests for refund status, asked for management contact info 5 times, and legal info 4 times. No response. Phone calls "transfer" you to claims department but a new normal customer service rep answers. Absolutely completely useless. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. All our belongings are destroyed and they completely refuse to even take responsibility for the damage they caused. read more

Upack it was much cheaper than the estimate I got from a big moving company. It was more work for me, but so worth the savings. The truck arrived on time and gave us plenty of time to move our things into the truck. The associate that set it all up was professional and great to work with. She was very responsive and informative. They hired the movers to come and move our furniture onto the truck and the truck was not unloaded until it got to our home. One small glitch, the truck was late being picked up for 3 days so was sitting in our driveway blocking access tot he garage. But other than that, it was an excellent experience. Customer service was super helpful during the ordering The CUBE delivery was on-time and the driver provided tips on packing. After packing, pickup was right on time in the time window provided and the driver ensured I had all the details I would need once our cubes arrived in Maryland. I was looking for the most convenient way to move from Miami, Fl to South Carolina. Everybody was charging me over 2.5k to rent me a truck that I had to load and drive. U-pack was one third of the price (I called a month before I moved). The boxes looked small at first sight but the smallest one fit my 2-1 apartment. They picked up the box, I took my time to enjoy the road trip to SC, not worrying about hauling the big load. They arrived in about a week and everything was just like I packed it. Service was great, pricing never changed, and all the customer service reps from u pack and the call centers were readily available. My only suggestion is that from the initial call they need to explain the trailer being delivered within a time window. That can pose issues if you've hired help or have others there ready to assist. Thanks guys, this helped immensely. We were able to move from Florida to Virginia with ease without having to worry about having our stuff lost in transit or stored outdoors for long periods of time.... common issues from military contracted movers. I want to preface this by stating that I do not believe on blasting businesses, however, the amount of regret that I have for having contacting this company is quite high. I had contacted this company as a recommendation from a family friend, who had moved from FL to CO, the same move that I made not long ago. When I called U-Pack, a female rep, created a quote for me, for 2 cubes, and during my conversation with her I had mentioned the amount of furniture I was taking and their measurements, so the quote could be accurate, she was "very sure" that I would only need 2 cubes for a 3 bedroom apartment, when I asked how much could be the fee if instead the moving was done center to center, she said they did not perform that service, which was odd since my family friend had that service done. I called back in Spanish and a male rep had assured me that they did offer the service center to center, and that he would change it, to which my quote was $2K, to which I was very satisfied. Comes the day of taking my furniture and boxes to the center, I was in shock, there was a 5 feet by 2 feet cube for 2 3 feet dressers, bookshelves, 3 night stands, and around 40 boxes. I went directly to the office, which is apartment is a sub-contractor from U-pack, the male representative, who was very nice, directed me to speak to U-pack as he was unable to make any changes. I called U-pack and the male representative told me that "we" (the customer) where supposed to know it would not fit (even after we provided with the measurements and numbers of each piece of furniture), and that there was nothing they could do, other than creating another quote for another cube which would take my quote to double $4K, or a 13-feet of a trailer for $5K. The representatives are scammers, they do expect you to know the cubes and how much can be arranged there, when they are the "experts", and when you have no other option you either have to find more $ or figure out another option. From my initial quote of $2K I end up paying $5K, and there was no sympathy from U-Pack, nor any help since they were the ones that made the calculation mistake. I have seen another case like this, however the customer did give U-Pack 4 to 5 starts, which for me is unbelievable, also, whilst in the Miami Center, you are able to see upset people, I am assuming for the same reasons. At this time I have already moved, but I am extremely regretful of ever calling this people. If you took the time to read this far, PLEASE STAY AWAY, they are not worth it and sooner rather than later you will find yourself paying more for space. Also, I had already tried to dispute this with the Best Business Bureau, to be told by the customer service that "they are not responsible of knowing what will and will not fit", regardless of being given an inventory with measurements. read more

This moving company is FANNNNTASTICCCC !!! Reliable, affordable, spacious, and SO convenient - they basically spell out everything that a stressed out mover is looking to turn to. My husband and I were having trouble finding an affordable/trustworthy moving company to move our family of 5 from Miami, FL to Oklahoma - every company we researched came with a chunky price tag/risky reviews. And then, one glorious morning (1 week before our moving date to be exact), we came across UPack and all of the awesomeness and convenience it entailed! One phone call, an awesome price quote (after reading pages and pages of great reviews), and BOOM! Done! As scheduled, they dropped off two shipping containers right on time (did I mention they dropped the 2nd container off free of charge, as a "just in case you need it" - of course, we would have to pay if we would've used it - but how considerate and nice is that ?!), we had a few days to pack it up, then a simple phone call to schedule pick up/shipment for the next day. Once again, they came right on time to take our storage container and conveniently shipped it to Oklahoma even before the time span promised! All we had to do when we arrived was give them a call to schedule drop off in front of our house (which also arrived right on time), unload our stuff (which was in perfect condition the same way we left it), and they conveniently picked up the unit when we finished! We are relocating to Texas in the near future and look forward to using UPack again!! read more

I shipped some things from out of state to Miami & had a good experience on the Miami end. Here's what you do if you need stuff (furniture from out of town). Go on the website and request an estimate. They bring you a cube, you load it up call the shipping place, they call you when it gets to the destination and set up a delivery time. These people came early in their 4 hour window (it was 2-6 and they came at 2:30). They will hold it 2 days for free, so you can work it into your schedule. You have 3 days to unload. Call the warehouse when you're done and they take the cube away. The delivery guy did a great job and fit the cube in my ity-bity beach parking spot and they removed it promptly the next day. This is a great way to move stuff long distance if you don't want to deal with driving a U-haul. The price rental is cheaper & you don't have to pay for gas or pick it up and drop it off a some random location. I would use this service again! We recently used ABF to move our belongings from Miami, FL to Pittsburgh, PA. ABF is a very economical option for moving long-distance--particularly if you go to the terminal to load your things. Assuming you don't have a really small load, their trailers are the best deal. With the trailer, you pay according to how many feet (length-wise) you use in their trailer (each foot is 72 cubic feet). There is a minimum charge of 5 feet and you will only pay what you actually use after the minimum charge (lets say you book for 12 feet and you only use 10 feet, you will only pay the charge for 10 feet). Once you factor in renting a Uhaul truck and paying for gas (those small moving trucks only get around 8 MPG), you will find that ABF is about the same as getting a Uhaul truck. We moved about 800 cubic feet of stuff a distance of 1200 miles for only $1074. Once we paid movers on both ends to load/unload and transport our belongings between our residences and the terminals, we were able to complete our entire move for $2200 without lifting a thing. I am very happy we elected to use ABF to transport our items and hire movers on both ends rather than hiring a traditional full-service mover--which was going to cost us $4,000 to $5,000. My only criticism is that transit time was long than expected. We loaded our trailer on a Monday. According to the info I was provided, our trailer should have departed the next day--on Tuesday. However, our trailer never ended up leaving Miami until Thursday. It only departed Miami after we complained to the destination office in Pittsburgh and they got things moving along. While admittedly our items were delivered within the estimated timeframe, I was not happy that it needlessly took two extra time because someone apparently forgot to dispatch our trailer. Despite the one hangup, I was very pleased with ABF overall. Our items arrived safely and in one piece--we've unpacked almost everything and haven't found anything broken yet. The people we encountered at the Miami terminal were also friendly and helpful. P.S. They will negotiate on price if you call their 1-800 number when booking. I saved about $200 with very minimal negotiating. read more

The pricing was all over the place and when asked to review the call I was still quoted a different price.. Frustration to the most high... All of the arrangements that were set in place were never adhered to.. A big mess.. Never again.. When I called to have them pick it up because this is something I stated to them over the phone that it could not be in my complex over the weekend.. I got a sorry your not on my list to have this cube picked up and maybe just maybe we can retrieve this on Monday... For the money and the bleeping headache next time I will just drive my things myself... I don't recommend this people for anyone that is moving cross country, cross the street or across the universe... Outstanding experience and highly recommend! First ordered a trailer but switched to relo cubes due to street parking concerns. Throughout the process, U-Pack was super friendly, flexible, and responsive. Switch to cubes, increase in relo cubes after partial loading, and logistics for loading and then at the other end for unloading were easy due to the ability of U-Pack people at both ends to work with our requests and even changing requests because of weather. They worked with us to beat PODS price quote and it ended up being the same cost as renting a truck and gas, but minus the hassle of driving a 14Ft truck down the coast. Considered renting a van and driving it 1000 miles each way (because you can't rent a van one way), but the thought of crawling through Atlanta traffic and later barreling down I-95 in south Florida forced us to reconsider. I used a relocube from ABF U-Pack to move all the contents of a 1BR apartment from North Carolina to South Florida. The cube costs about the same as a self-move with a rental truck, but you don't have to do the driving! Gas and mileage are included in the quote, and you know the full price upfront. It was significantly cheaper than a full service moving company or any other "pod" type moving containers. Keep in mind you are responsible for packing your own contents unless you pay extra to hire loading assistance. The insurance provided by the company is not very high-dollar coverage, so I recommend you have your own insurance, just in case. Renter's insurance covers items in-transit, so that is what I used. ABF drops off the cube at your origin location and you have up to three days to load. You lock it up with your own lock, so you know no one else can access your belongings. My cube arrived to Florida in under a week, which was much faster than most moving companies. They also have online tracking, so you can see exactly where your cube is at any time from point A to point B. When the cube arrived, they were able to hold it on-site at their local terminal for free for a few days, so I could have it delivered for unloading during the following weekend. The driver will call when he is 30-60 min away from your location, so you don't have to wait around all day to receive your cube delivery. Overall I had a very good experience. Customer service was helpful and it was easy to get a hold of someone for questions. My items arrived intact, and the move went as smoothly as any other self-move I've done in the past. My only advice would be to make sure you know exactly how much stuff you have before the cube arrives. My 1BR contents fit in the cube, but just barely! I definitely recommend ABF U-Pack and I would use the service again for a future move. read more

Used UPack to help my daughter move from Palm Beach Gardens, FL back home to New Jersey. From the first phone call with Lilly Holcomb and all of the follow-up calls, everyone was helpful, professional and extraordinary. The cubes were dropped off and picked up on time, transit was about 5 days as expected and delivery was on time, although a little late in the day, I called UPack while we were waiting to find out where the truck was and when they found out that I had hired some high school kids to help off load, they offered to reimburse me for the hours the kids spent waiting. I had shopped PODS and several other moving/shipping options and UPack was the best deal by far. Excellent experience from beginning to end, will use again and will recommend them. First let me say that I truly never write reviews and especially not this long. I decided to write this one because Upack made my life so much easier during a very stressful move. I was moving to Chicago from Florida and originally considered renting a truck and doing it myself, it turns out truck rentals are ridiculously expensive ($1800 for a 16 foot truck) plus everything else I would have to worry about like gas, tolls, having to stop and park the truck along the trip, etc. So I started to look at moving companies and it was in my opinion all a big scam. Some would quote me a reasonable price, but when I would look at reviews, everyone said that their strategy was to later up-charge you once your stuff was in their trucks and that a lot of time your items would be lost or damaged. And the more reputable companies would charge a crazy amount of money (about $8,000 for a 1 bedroom apt). Anyways, someone told me to check out Upack, and OMG I am so happy I did. Everyone I spoke to was extremely nice and helpful, both in Florida and Chicago. They were also super accommodating as I had to change plans, dates, times multiple times and it was all free to change. I must've called them 10 times in two days and they were always pleasant and helpful. First they were supposed to drop off the trailer at my storage unit, but when the storage unit did not allow this, they just gave me the option (which I didn't even know existed) to load at their facility and because they take into account that you have to rent a truck to take your belongings to the trailer, they dropped like $400 of the original quote. Also, they quoted me 10 feet of space but I only ended up using 6 feet and they reduced the price to 6 feet, no questions asked, so you only pay for what you use. All my items were exactly as I left them and it arrived exactly when they said it would. I would completely recommend Upack. read more
