I recently had my check card stolen a few days before I left for a vacation. I went in here frantic…read moreand worried what I would do. The friendly staff (I wish I could remember his name, sorry) helped me immediately. They sat down with me and went over every detail and things to watch out for as they could be red flags on my account for whom ever stole the card. They set me up with a temp card and I was even able to use this on my vacation! I was very satisifed with their honest, friendly customer service and have been for several years.

I've been a loyal TCF customer since I was 15- I'm almost 50. I transferred money onto a "tcf…read moreccard" which cost me $65. The guy who set it up at the bank, set it up to pay the FULL amount. I've got overdraft protection. I went to the TCF Excelsior Bank. Apparently, that doesn't cover auto payments, or balance transfers- this all happened right before Christmas!!! "TATIANA" graced me with her presence." SHE'S VERY rude, callous & think she's a big deal. The tcf ccard co was almost as bad. I'M considering banking elsewhere bc of HER & this whole nightmare! I contacted DISCOVER- trsfd to them- zero bal fee, 0%12 mo. PLEASANT to deal with. THANKS for everything TATIANA & the tcf ccard co for taking such good care of a valued customer. I have been a TCF customer for over 21 years. It's a relatively small bank in comparison but that…read moredidn't really bother me, in fact I kind of liked that about it. I never had any major problems, even when issues (such as extra fees, were my own fault) well that is until the recent merger they did with Chemical bank that is. A few months ago I had to get money out of a non-TCF ATM and I got whacked with a $12 fee. When I stopped in the branch to have some of that fee reversed I was not only denied but insulted in the process. I called to close my account and the rep on the phone resolved the issue and apologized profusely. Then about 18+ days ago my account was compromised and emptied with fraudulent charges. Most were pending and I do not know why they still went through. I reported ALL the charges for reimbursement but only a few got reversed. I had to call again, (wait times are excessive) I reported the remaining charges and again only a few got reversed. Called AGAIN and I am still waiting for MY MONEY BACK! The totals on the online banking are always inaccurate now and to call again takes an excess of over 45 minutes if the call even goes through, as sometimes the recording tells me to call back another time and disconnects. I am hoping TCF can correct these problems PROMPTLY and get back to good service or I will be forced to bank else-where!

I made an appointment 1-week in advance and got 2 phone calls, one was 1-hr 15 minutes before my appointment and the other was 5 minutes before my appointment. No one left a message and travelled all the way to the bank to be told that they couldn't help me. Poor customer service!
