I had a horrendous experience trying to open a business account with Tamra…read more What should have been simple turned into over a week of delays, poor communication, and constant back-and-forth due to "approvals" and unavailable managers. Responses were slow and inconsistent. When I was finally told to come in, my request to schedule a specific time was ignored until 10 minutes before. Then I was told--only after arriving--that I needed $105 to fund the account, which was never disclosed beforehand. The only option suggested could trigger a cash advance fee. After being left sitting for 15 minutes while she "checked with a manager," I walked out. Disorganized, inefficient, and a complete waste of time. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

This is one of the credit unions I currently bank with, and I'll be honest -- my experiences at…read morethis particular location have been a little hit or miss. Nothing terrible, just depending on the day and timing. Let's talk parking first. Whew. It can definitely be a challenge. The branch is located in the La Mesa Spring Valley Plaza, which is shared with several busy businesses like Round Table Pizza, Albert's Mexican Food, Vons, Sports Clips, and even an Asian buffet among others. Because of that, you may find yourself circling the lot a few times waiting for someone to pull out. If you're coming during peak hours, just prepare for that. I usually stop by when I'm already in the area running errands and just need to get in and out. For quick transactions, deposits, or basic banking needs, it works perfectly. Now let me say this -- the staff here are super sweet and very friendly. They really do try to take care of customers in a prompt and professional manner. I've never had to handle any major financial matters here, but for everyday banking needs, they've been solid. They also have an ATM outside and a drive-through option, which is convenient if you don't feel like going inside or you're short on time. Overall, California Coast Credit Union is a great credit union with multiple locations throughout San Diego County, plus access to shared branch locations in certain areas. That flexibility is a big win for me because I can bank pretty much anywhere I am in the city. If you're on the fence about joining California Coast, don't be. If you're looking to establish checking, savings, or just want a reliable credit union with accessibility around town, they're definitely worth giving a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

My husband has been a customer of this bank for over 30 years…read more It used to be Wells Fargo, Great American, Bank of the West, and now since last Labor Day weekend 2023, BMO. So there are certain individuals my husband has banked with for that entire time. Do they provide exceptional service to us? No. In fact, I went to deposit $500 cash at the teller of this branch yesterday morning Labor Day 2024, and the teller message flashed after I put all the cash to deposit, that there was no more deposits available. Then my $500 never came back out. I did not get a receipt, and there was nothing to show the $500 I had lost. I went in to the bank this morning, and they had no idea of what had happened, nor did they take any helpful action, except the young teller who helped me, filled out a report which he said I "should look for something in the next 7 days and if I don't see anything within 14 days, call the branch and they can look up my profile." How can a banking institution not have a reconciliation of the transactions that occurred and resulting errors or mis-reconciliation. There are numerous incidents in the past year or two that I could recount here about not getting my phone calls returned from three different and specific bankers, who know me personally, and they have never resolved the varying issues which I had contacted them for. Terrible service and it seems to be a part of the bank culture. Don't take my word for it, see for yourself. UPDATE: Nine days later and still no resolution to my $500 stuck in the teller. Simply ridiculous. Never go here unless you don't value your money, This bank surely will not value it nor you as a customer. Even after 30 loyal years.
