At a consultation,Dr. Dorsey advised my family member that they could have a support person in the room during their upcoming procedure. On the day of that procedure, that accommodation was denied. the nurse repeatedly dismissed the concerns of the patient and the family member. I would not recommend this doctor as they were blatantly misleading during consultation. The day of experience was more traumatic than necessary based on this misinformation. read more

Been here twice since they went under the US Dermatology Partner "umbrella". First I want to say that the doctors/PAs/nurses are nice and friendly; front office and check-out seem irritated by the patients. That being said, I cannot get over how unorganized this office is!!! Last appointment (2024) they sent my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy after telling them and writing it down. They then lied and said that they sent it in the pharmacy just got it wrong (which has NEVER happened with my little pharmacy). Then when I asked what pharmacy and when they sent it over, they said they couldn't tell me... wth?? Then they called me with my test results (which I had no test done), when I told them I had no test done they just brushed it off. This time I was told we needed a total of 3 appointments back to back, when we got there the front desk said that wasn't true. I didn't care as long as we got everything covered on today's visit. Visits went fine, repeated my requested pharmacy. Wrote it down and put the address. The nurse tried to change my mind. I said, no I like my pharmacy because they are always thorough. Called my pharmacy the next day, they didn't get anything called in. Called the derm. office and they said they didn't know if it had been called in yet. Over 24hrs and we were heading out of town. They said someone would call me back soon.. well of course no one ever called me back! Such an unorganized office! This doesn't not make me feel confident in this office. read more

I visited Dr Peckham on Thursday, March 27th on s referral from a friend. I waited several weeks for my appointment but as my issue isn't urgent, I didn't mind the wait. I arrived early for my appointment. Although I had already completed online paperwork, I was asked to complete more paperwork once I arrived. This is not only annoying but redundant. Especially since not only had I completed the paperwork well in advance, it appears that no one bothered to look at it before my arrival. Nonetheless, I completed the one-page form and took it with me into my consultation. Dr Peckham was very kind. He confirmed my suspicion that I had a lipoma on my forehead. He explained the removal procedure and recovery. He also felt that another doctor, Dr Dorsey, in the same office would be a better "surgeon" for my particular issue. I received a call on Friday morning that went to voicemail. I called back immediately but was not able to reach anyone therefore I left a message. The day went on without a return of my call, so I called again and had to have another message. From then I called a further SIX MORE TIMES. I did an online chat. I have left multiple messages. Tuesday afternoon I finally talked to a human. She was fairly new to the company and she really tried her best to get me some help. In the end, I agreed to let her try and get me someone to call me. I explained that if I didn't hear from someone by mid-day, I would be forced to assume US Dermatology doesn't care about me. I will be taking my business elsewhere. My advice to Dr Peckham would be not to recommend Dr Dorsey. My advice to Dt Dorsey would be to replace her staff with people that actually give a damn about prospective clients. read more

Went in for an appointment on Thursday and had a small skin lesion taken off my foot and sent to get it biopsied. The doctor prescribed an antibiotic cream and the nurse said she would call it in within 30 minutes. At the end of the day I called CVS and they said the prescription was never called in. I called the dermatology office on Friday and spoke to the front desk about it , they told me to call back and choose the phone option to speak with a nurse. I did, and left a message. Again, we called CVS that evening and the prescription was not called in. The dermatology office is closed on the weekend, and I never heard from the office at all. It's Monday at 11am, and u still haven't heard from anyone. I called them and selected different options to speak with someone live and no one answered. I again needed to leave another message. This office is very unprofessional. I liked the doctor, but if the facility is disorganized and don't care about their patients there is no point in going. read more

The doctors and the service are fine but look out for the billing. After going here for 3years, all of the sudden my annual preventative care exam is a surgical procedure which means my insurance doesn't cover 100 percent so this visit cost me $$. I have made numerous calls trying to figure out why it was coded different to be told over and over it was an insurance problem. I tried to explain my insurance doesn't determine the way the visit is coded then I was told it is the doctor who determines the code but they wouldn't budge on changing it. So I won't be going back. If they can't bill my visit correctly leaving me to wonder how much my next visit will cost!! read more

Dr. Jean Charles and her team were outstanding when providing a body scan to both of my elderly parents, specifically reviewing and ultimately biopsying a suspicious facial mark on my mother. Turns out it was skin cancer and thanks to her thorough notes and photos, we were able to get my mom's MOHS surgery as soon as got her moved out to another state, where I live and where she and my father were moving. I really appreciate the bedside manner Dr. Charles had and the gentle way she dealt with my parents who had never been to a dermatologist. read more

If you are diabetic, you know you will get dry skin. Are you also aware that dry skin can become psoriasis. I don't wish that on my worst enemy. I finally asked my Primary to give me a recommendation on a dermatologist. The first appointment took about a month. Since I had been suffering for a couple of years a month wasn't long. The waiting room was unfortunately packed. You sign in at the front desk. Yes, you must wear a mask. Then they call you back to the desk and get your information, insurance card, and ID. You sit back and wait. It was busy that day so I wasn't called until 15 minutes after my appointment time. I was meeting with Dr. Hartman. His nurse practitioner, Michelle, saw me first. She asked questions and took notes. Gave me a robe to put on for my exam. The doc came in with Michelle again. He asked different question and checked out my skin everywhere. I definitely have a classic case of plaque psoriasis. He was recommending a drug called Ilumya. They contacted Paragon Injections to schedule an appointment for me. Long story short. The drug would cost me over $5,000. for the first two shots even with my insurance involved. Michelle took on the challenge of helping me. She worked with Ilumya to have them pay for my treatment. So Michelle gets credit for that fifth star. Otherwise my only con, they are always late on there appointment times. read more

Walked in at 3:03pm so I could be early for my 3:20pm apt. Sat there listening to an obnoxious front desk lady who wouldn't shut up. Watched many people check in after me sit and get called in and then walked out. At 3:50pm went to the desk and asked about my apt for 3:20pm and the obnoxious lady said oh yeah Brandi is running late. Sat back down and lady near me said are you booked with Brandi. I said yes and her apt was at 3"10. So now I have someone in front of me I walked out at 3:59pm and walked to the front desk and said you can cancel my apt and walked out. I will never go back here. I'm giving one star bc it's required. I had a confirmed appointment today. I arrived and went to check in when the girl at the front desk told me they didn't have an appointment for me today. I told her it was booked a while ago to have some suspicious moles examined and to review my biopsy results. She went to the back and returned saying she could get someone to come talk to me about my results and then I wouldn't need an appointment. I told her I was there to have suspicious moles examined. She threw her hands up and asked, "What do you want me to do about it!" Then I got angry. If you have a confirmed appointment, someone needs to see you. But this is just another example of what I've been saying for years, there's no such thing as patient care anymore. So if you're looking for that, Don't Come Here! read more

My visit from start to finish was excellent. From Stephanie at the res workin desk guiding me thru check in on the iPad to the gentleman who called me back who just happened to be filling in today from Georgetown since they were short handed. They let me know that Dr Johnson was running behind schedule but it didn't affect me at all. I was super early and she was able to catch up and see me in time. Her assistant was very nice and guided me through the long hallways and turns.. gets kinda tricky. They share a location with a medical spa so you will see lots of cosmetic advertising and products. I was simply there for an annual skin exam and it was my first time there. Dr.Johnson was great. She was super kind and very thorough. She is sincere and genuine. I will definitely be back to see her as long as I live in the area. read more

Shocked is the best way to describe how I felt leaving this location. The staff were all friendly. The visit was quick and that is the reason for my low rating. I went in for an allergy concern and while concluding the visit I inquired about another dermatological concern. Dr. Peckham immediately stated that I could inquire only if it was quick as he didn't have time... puzzled I proceeded to ask he addressed it quickly then rushed out. I was left with the nurse who I had a question about something she had stated earlier to which she said that I would need another appointment with the doctor as they are very thorough with the appointments, I stated the doctor was in the room less than 20 min that's not a lot of time for thorough to which she stated: They are limited to 10 min appt, I was shocked. I have a high copay for dermatologist visits, I don't believe ANY dermatologist is worth six hundred dollars an hour. My insurance informed me that my copay does not only pay for 10 minutes and that was just this offices policy which is outrageous to me. So if you're comfortable paying/visiting in 10 minute increments go ahead and go here but look elsewhere if you'd like to save time/money. My experience left me feeling shocked and feeling that this group is a money grab. read more

This is the nicest, most professional looking doctor's office I have ever visited. They were super punctual, the least amount of time I've ever spent in a waiting room. I was referred by a friend to have the doctor remove some bumps on my scalp. For my first consultation they took stock of the cysts and put me on schedule for surgery. They also injected the cyst that was inflamed with steroids to help it calm down. Three days later I was able to return to have 2 cysts removed. The procedure was quick and painless, I was in and out within 30 Minutes. The absolute best experience I have had with a doctor, I highly recommend them. read more

Have been several times, the first time was with a woman doctor that seemed not to give a dang, left feeling not seen or heard, Went back a few months later but chose another Dr. Thankfully I got Dr. Charles, who I have been seeing ever since. She is very personable, smart and knows who I am. Her assistant is the best I have seen. She is great with follow up questions. I would be very careful with this practice. I went in for a check in February of 2022 (paid whatever copay at the time). Went in again March of 2023. Today I received a notification that a bill had been sent to collections. After calling, I learned of a bill from February of 2022 I was never informed about. The practice advertised to me all year via email and phone, but I was never informed about this bill. Also, I was there IN PERSON in March and they still did not mention it. I have never had anything like this happen to me in my life and I'm not sure what to make of it, but I will never go back -- that is for sure. read more

This practice has gone down hill in recent years. I had been a patient going on nearly 15 years and had been under a variety of doctors care throughout. While the doctors are fine, the management of this practice is unhelpful and unprofessional. I had given plenty of notice the morning of my appointment that I would be no more than 15 minutes late due to coming from out of town and unexpected weather. They called me back within less than an hour of my appointment to say it was unacceptable to be more than 10 minutes late and that they would be cancelling my appointment. They were uninterested in helping me find a new appointment time and if anyone has attended this practice you know that the average wait time in the lobby typically exceeds a minimum of 20 minutes every time. Ridiculous attitude and lack of customer service is why I will not be returning and will be advising my friends and family I have recommended this practice to in the past, to seek help elsewhere. I needed a new dermatologist as my previous one was way too far from my house. The location of this place is close to my house and I'm so happy I finally made the switch. This place has amazing staff! From the front lobby staff, to med assistant taking me back to the room, to the check-out staff. They all have great customer service and very nice. I saw Dr. Johnson for my appt and she is great! I give 4 stars b/c the wait time from checking in to being called back to the room took 30mins. read more

This review is about the office where Dr. Hartmann works, whom I saw today. First: Dr. Hartmann seems great. And people who know me know I have seen a loooooot of m.d.'s. Seriously. He doesn't talk down to you, listens to what you have to say. He's not too buddy-buddy, answers questions directly and tells you exactly what he is doing while he is checking out all your skin. He gives you options, but says what he thinks you ought to do about said options. Granted, I've only seen the man the one time, but I will report back in the future if he warrants a change in star status. Second: this is definitely one of the strangest doc's offices I have been to in terms of the staff - because they were all eerily super nice and cheery. I mean, I'm pretty sure I saw not one person looking even slightly bored. Now, I have worked in many offices. You got to get bored entering paperwork. Faxing. Appointment-ing. I dunno. It's not like 1401 Medical Pkwy has an open-air view of tiki bars, clear oceans and warm sunsets. Maybe it's because these days, dermatology has come to be equated with "selling a crapton of high-end skin care treatments and products to people", and so the doctors have hired people who are always sunny in Cedar Park? Don't get me wrong, it's not like I want staff to be grumpy and give me guff for no reason, I'm just sayin'. Third: Note that Building B is the building that is to the right of the hospital (which is to the right of the pediatric center). Plenty of parking though you might have a bit of a walk if you come at a peak time. Finally: my appointment began right on time (though I was the first patient). Dr. Whelan Johnson of US Dermatology in Cedar Park is AWESOME! However, I was told the office was part of my insurance network when I made the appointment and I confirmed the expected cost would be $20 for an in-network visit. On the day of my appointment I was charged the $20 (in-network) office copay. Four months later I started receiving bills for over $400 for the "out-of-network" expense. I called the billing office several times to report the error and was told they would investigate. I continued to receive bills and then was threatened with collections. I paid the amount due, under protest, and advised the office I was going to file a complaint with the TX department of Health and Human Services, which I have done. If Dr. Johnson ever joins another practice, I'd love to see her again!! read more

Lies about consultation cost. I was clearly told there was no cost if the procedure wasn't done before the appointment was set because I wasn't sure of affordability for the procedure. I couldn't have the procedure completed because of cost, so they turned around and charged me a consultation fee. I will never return for care where I can not trust. Both before and after this appointment I was assured there was no cost. Now I have a bill, and the Dr. has told the billing department that it was a billable visit, therefore I owe them. I have been a long time patient here and brought both my sons as well. I was always very happy with the service until they went under new ownership. The new ownership is stopping treatments that were effective and inexpensive in favor of their higher priced and higher margin custom formularies that are less effective. The billing systems are severely messed up and the place they have outsourced billings to is unhelpful and inconsiderate. After having no issues for more than 5 years, I now get multiple bills for the same service and random bills. In the latest incident I received a charge from 15 months ago for some lab work that appeared from no where. The billing department was unwilling to discuss other than saying that it was likely to be turned over to collections if it went unpaid. Sorry to say I will have to find a new office and advise you to be wary of the "new" recommendations for treatments and review your bills when they come to you. read more

I missed an appointment, my fault, and called and rescheduled. I wasn't able to get in for another month which I understood. I didn't receive a confirmation text so I called to confirm. They said they didn't have an appointment for me. They asked who I talked to which I certainly didn't remember. I looked back at my phone records and even know the exact time I called. They said it would be at least another month. I'm so disappointed because I thought David the PA was great. I will now find a new provider.
