There is a drive up mail box. Slowest employees I've ever encountered. Lines out the door- every time I've been here it has been out the door. Usually only one person working. Not very friendly either, that is if they even talk to you. The girl that "helped" me was very snarky toward me. Kinda annoying to be treated rudely after waiting in line for nearly 20 minutes to get a freaking stamp and an envelope. I would've rather just gotten the silent treatment from her. The older couple in line next to me had to repeat why they were there 6 times before the girl actually listened to them and got them the correct forms. Not terribly small, but not big either. They have some gift wrap and boxes and stuff, all overpriced. If you need that stuff go across the street to the dollar store and grab it real quick. Won't be back. Thankfully I don't send out much mail so I have no reason to return.

The Supervisor is polite and listens attentively however is very protective and biased toward his driver. "Send pictures on the day it happens. I can't do anything without proof." Well, how about all the hoops we've already jumped through and compromised on to accomodate this driver's half-truth's about their inability to safely deliver directly to the houses on this rural road? Now it seems that overersized packages are torn and damaged while being stuffed into mailboxes where they don't really fit, making them near impossible to get out. There is a oversized packaged delivery locker right next to the mailboxes (this being the compromise from them not wanting to deliver to the houses) but the driver apparently would rather do anything than get out of their car in order to use a package locker when they can just drive up to the mail boxes.

I know it is not this office fault, but EXPRESS mail was in the country for 17 days and arrived to addressee in 2.5 months. It's about time: Fox Island finally has a new post office!!…read more The old P.O., which had been in operation for decades, was housed in a cramped little building next to the Fox Island Store. I don't know any specific facts or figures on the number of people served or packages handled, but every time I visited the place it was obviously inadequate for the amount of traffic it was receiving. I'm sure the entire population of the island was excited to see this new facility being built! The new Post Office, now located right across the street from the Fox Island Store, still isn't a very large place. At least now there's room for people to queue up INSIDE the building to do their business, though. More space also equals more P.O. boxes and mailing materials and such. There is also more parking available. One thing that did NOT expand, however, are the business hours: 08:00 - 16:30 (closed for lunch from 13:00 - 13:30) M-F and 09:00 - 10:30 on Saturday.

This is one of them and this is for THE post office. You could almost miss it, since it's basically a modular home on bricks. This post office is similar in style to the one in Bucoda. Small office for a very very very small town. Sometimes the wait is a little long, but it's understandable when you have a line and only 2 cashiers. The lawn is always maintained, and the building is always clean. I have never had any issues with the staff when we go in. We did have a hiccup with our mailman giving us mail that wasn't ours and loosing some of our mail, but the postmaster was very polite and helped get our mail and took the mail that wasn't ours.

Now the bad, specifically our normal postal carrier. This nice lady has run into my vehicle, driven multiple times through my yard (50 yrds), has driven my wife and my son off the road. The best part, our local USPS does not care. Our carrier is untouchable. Recently she decided she did not like my road maintenance level. Which interestingly is not an issue for any other carrier, and I know that because I ask. Even my carriers fill in driver's have indicated they have no issues. These issues have been going on for nearly 20 yrs. I have even been tasked to fix the shoulder of the county road from damage caused by her full gas full brakes driving style. So now, which is not a bad outcome, she has been invited to never deliver to my property again, which will be safer for everyone involved. As an aside, this is yet another government agency that have some members who will take great satisfaction in their ability to lord over you and make you dance to their music because they are virtually untouchable.
