Very friendly staff. I needed to send mail internationally. They showed me all the options with a very thorough explanation. I chose express mail, which was supposed to arrive in 5 days. I know it is not this office fault, but EXPRESS mail was in the country for 17 days and arrived to addressee in 2.5 months. USPS is great for mailing within the country, but if you have something valuable - use other services. But as I said earlier, staff at this location is great, they do their job. read more

I am just now reading the comments for this location and I agree with a lot of them, one of my biggest problem and concern with this location is whenever I get a package or mail sent to my PO Box even if it was delivered at 9 AM, by FedEx, UPS, Amazon, or any other third-party I am not able to retrieve it until following day no matter how important the document is. THATS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE BY THE USPS. I PAY 200+ DOLLARS FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR..... I have see people with UPS P.O. With most social service employees I give them the benefit of the doubt, NOT HERE! First time I came in asking passport questions I was answered with "uh huh" "maybe" and then was recommended to a different address. I went to the address given to me and THEY DO NOT DO PASSPORT SERVICES AT THAT LOCATION. ok, maybe the postal worker didn't LIE to me maybe she misspoke? I went back to the post office, same employee, same person, gave me the wrong info again. I told them they were wrong. If you don't know an answer say that, do you really think fibbing to me is going to get me away 100%? After all the fuss I found Thurston County Municipal building. I now have had 3 pieces of mail lost and not actually delivered, but tracking shows "Delivered". One of the pieces of mail was a credit card that has since been used at the Lucky Eagle casino and a few other places. The boxes with tracking showing "delivered" have still not made it home after 2 weeks. I can not prove to the seller that my package never arrived, so now I am having to eat these losses because of the incompetency of this post office delivery. My neighbor across the street has handed my family mail on several occasions. This is complete chaos from this postal station. read more

I assume they are understaffed, but regardless, I've closed my PO Box and will never receive mail here again. Conveniently, thousands of dollars in checks are "missing." I have inquired multiple times with various people who work at the location and no one seems to understand what I am saying. I see in the informed delivery that I am supposed to get mail. A lot of the mail I receive and the ONLY reason I got a PO Box is because I receive checks for my business. I'll see the mail has been scanned and it never arrives at my PO Box. I have had to call insurance companies and attorney offices and ask them to update my address to my physical address and resend checks. It's been going on for months now. I closed my PO Box just now, and when I try to forward my mail, the website won't continue. I met a woman at the Lacey post office the other day and she said she has been trying to get them to forward her mail for over 30 days. She also was missing checks as a business owner. I was assuming maybe just errors at first and understaffed, but my conversation with her was very resonate to my own experience. If you run a business that receives payment, DO NOT get a PO Box at this post office. read more

Very slow service and limited stamps available. I went in last week. The line was long and with very slow service! I needed to buy 1 ounce stamps, which I often need as I mail heavier than standard envelopes frequently. I finally got to the front of the line, just to be told that they have no 1 ounce stamps. I never came across a post office that does not carry it. I will have to drive further next time just to find a post office that sells it. read more

I'd give this a minus rating if I could. My saga happened when I lost the key to my neighborhood cluster box lock. I called several times over several days to find out how to get a replacement, but the automatic answering would automatically hang up while I was waiting for someone to speak with. Because I'm disabled, I had to hire a driver to take me to this post office. On 7/23 I paid my $50 in person and was told it'd be two weeks. Because I had informed delivery and can see what mail should be being delivered, although I run a business out of my home, I decided I could wait two weeks. It's now been a month. No key, no mail, no answering the phone. I do have a copy of the back of the check that was deposited by the office on 7/23. The clerk there was very kind and helpful. And my mail carrier is wonderful and I'm still getting priority outgoing mail picked up at my house. But whatever customer service system they have in place is terrible. A business associate in NY texted today that she'd sent me a package. So now I'm going to have to pay to go down there again next week to pick it up with a month of mail, including several packages of office supplies I'd ordered the past weeks. read more

Beginning the first week in March 25 some potentate has been blocking the available parking spaces on the west side of the building with traffic cones. The thing is that in the middle of the day there are not any postal trucks using these spaces, and for many years postal customers have used these spaces without any problems. This same person has cognitive problems as they don't know how a door works. On this same door on the western side there is a sign that says use other door, the thing is that this door works by just pushing in, and if you do use the other door, you'll break your fingernails, as there isn't any handles to use read more

The postal workers here are very nice, polite and helpful. However, this place is really dirty. Plus some of the baseboards at the front counter are cracked and have been taped over to just keep them held in place. It can't cost that much to fix it. read more

I had to send some Christmas packages and the line was pretty long, spilling into the entry way, but I didn't have much of a choice because I needed to get the presents sent. To my relief, the line moved very fast. They only allow 10 customers in the lobby at a time due to Covid so that's why the line looked extra long. I have mailed hundreds of packages this year and with any large volume of items things will go missing. The Lacey, Wa manager Suzi is by far the most amazing USPS employee I have ever experienced in my many years of shipping packages. She truly showed she cared and worked to find a way to help despite being from another state and having her location only being the receiving branch. I know....review a post office? Well I just wanted to say how much I love that this post office has an automated postal center (APC). I don't have to get to the post office when they are open to mail my things. I can just use the APC which is like a self checkout at anytime of the day (except during it's nightly update...which I found out one night) It saves me from having to drive to Olympia to use their APC. Now when the post office is open, the service is what you expect for the post office. It kind of feels like the DMV. Now I will say, at times when it's majorly busy they do bring people from the back and help clear things out and usually have one person handing out packages that people came to pick up so myou don't have to stand in line waiting just to pick up a package. But as far as being friendly, it's pretty rare. But with all cutbacks and downsizing and possibilities of trying to keep from going out of business, I guess it's hard to stay friendly. Oh well, I am glad it's right down the street from my house. read more

I'm trying to report my carrier, but they never answer their phone. Even though my packages are clearly and correctly labeled, at least 3 of them (since February, including two priority Mail) end up going to my neighbors. I've spoken to a few of my neighbors and they all have the same issue. I have a sign on my doorstep saying "for security reasons, please place packages HERE." Which is on one specific side of my door, because from the street that side can't be seen. I have doorbell video of him looking at the sign, reading it, and ignoring it completely. At least twice he's done this. And it's not like I'm making him do anything other than putting my package on THIS side of my door rather than THAT side. He's just awful. And also very rude. And unorganized as when he gets here in the morning I watch him sort the Mail piece by piece into everyone's box. read more

Can't answer phones. Each and every person I have dealt with out of this place needs to strongly consider other jobs or going back to pre school for some listening skills. I have told this place to please put our business time sensitive packages to be delivered at a later time every single week for almost two years to deaf ears. As well as any personal packages I have ever tried to send to any of my previous residents through any of the post office in Lacey or Olympia have been either stolen/"lost" even if they say I had "signed" for it which is illegal since no mail carrier ever would see me due to me working lots of hours. I suggest pay the 5 extra bucks and order from literally anything else that doesn't make you do the post office and you'll thank me. This post office reminds me of the DMV. You don't want to go... but sometimes you just have to. In those moments I don't print shipping online then this is my preferred post office. The pros: The post office workers are smiley! Imagine that! There is rarely a line during the 12-1pm hour There's a self service shipping station The Cons: Parking... when the gym next door is in full swing you'll be hard pressed for a parking spot The priority shipping materials are rarely stocked in the self-serve lobby... forcing you to take business inside. That, in and of itself, warrants the deduction of a star. Don't offer self-serve if you don't offer the ability to do so. Overall, I enjoy this Post Office. The delivery service of this post office is absolutely the WORST! EVERY TIME I have a package to be delivered it gets delivered to my next door neighbors house! Not just once or twice, EVERY SINGLE TIME! TO top that off, my house numbers are displayed real big above my garage door! I've had a bunch of mail not delivered as well and complaints continuously fall on deaf ears. There was a time a package wasn't delivered because it was "undeliverable due to invalid address" shortly after that tracking updated to "customer refused delivery." I'd like to know how that combo is even possible. I then got a call back 3 MONTHS later to see if it had been resolved and of course nothing was done. Come to find out I don't even have a regular carrier, it's a different person all of the time but CAN ANY OF THEM EVEN READ NUMBERS?! I'd be interested to know the requirements to be a carrier here besides breathing! The worst part is that I live WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE of the dang post office! I have had so many issues with these mail carriers. On multiple occasions I have not been delivered my mail so I reschedule delivery and still they don't deliver it when promised. When I reach out about it, they email me saying they'll deliver it a certain day and yet it still doesn't come. Lately my mail has been damaged. I've had labels on shipping envelopes that had multiple labels of "do not bend" and yet it was shoved and folded in my tiny mailbox. It's ridiculous that this keeps happening. Its crazy how many times my neighbors and i have to trade mail because of mix ups & how often it occurs. I understand that during covid mail is being delayed and everything but this is not the issue. The issue is plain laziness. I really wish that after mixed up mail, damaged mail/packages, complaints, undelivered mail that they would seriously consider hiring someone else to do this job. read more

I was very impressed by the speed of service today, considering it's the holiday season. I usually have to mentally prepare myself when visiting this location on any day but was pleasantly surprised when I was met with a smile by the clerk. This has been the first time I've visited any post office and the clerk actually look like he loved his job. There were three cashiers and nine people ahead of me plus the three already being served when I got in line. When one of the three people being served was done, the third cashier LEFT HIS POST! WTF? Since then there were six more customers who stepped in line behind me. The cashier who left went back to his post but did not open his post with about a dozen customers still in line. Wtf? I have mailed cards to my Aunt which is in a assisted living and every time they get returned saying that they can't deliver them. I am so upset cards mean alot to people that are shut-ins. This location is the station that handles my residential mail delivery. I've had several problems over the past two years with mail being delivered to me but it was addressed to people with other addresses, sometimes even on a different street than me. I'm not sure where the problem lies, but it's frustrating. I also had a recent experience where a package addressed to me was delivered and signed for by someone on another street. I never received the package, and the person who signed for it is an older woman who can't recall receiving something that wasn't addressed to her. I contacted the supervisor and the postal inspections department and no one could figure out how this happened. I never received the original package and had to have the shipper replace the product after doing an investigation into the matter. As far as the retail services at this station, it's usually busy at the counter. 9 times out of 10, there is a line. The best thing about this station is the Automated Postal Center which will allow you to ship packages 24 hours a day. Whenever I go, this is usually the option I choose. It saves a lot of time and frustration. With the holidays fast approaching, this is probably the best option for us all. read more

The Lacey PO is so poorly managed,I live on rural 26 and it is a greatly over burned route so some days we get no mail and for flyers that the super markets pay for,we either do not get them or they are at least three days late. I tried to call the po from 530pm to 600pm and rediled continuously for the 30 minutes and never got an answer. The Olympia post master who this office is under will never answer the phone either. Shame on the management because the post office used to be a very good service,now they do not know the meaning of the word. read more

Been coming here for 7 years and never had a problem, even during the holidays. I have shown up and there is a line out the door and the crew just keeps rocking and it's just a ten minute wait during peak season. The whole staff is professional and friendly and get you in and out for the cheapest price they are allowed to charge for their services.
