It's small, yes, and that's a shame because many of the buildings on the Main Street, Henry Road, were empty. IMO this little village has potential, the buildings are cool old brick, and the architecture is really awesome! It's a railroad town and my hubby said it looked like a town you'd build from a train set! The post office sits right at the Sussex County/Greenville County Line. The post master, Roger, was very friendly and helpful! I purchased some post card stamps here, but no postcards available... I'm headed to emporia to see if they have any! The post office was well stocked, maintained, and organized! I'd be curious about the history of this town and will research it some more. Hours: M-F 8:30-4:30 Saturday 9:30-11:30

They locked the doors nightly for a span of several days for a hurricane that never materialized...again, inconveniencing customers. The news reported, even before the storm hit the coast... considerably south of us...that central Virginia would not be impacted. This, IMO, was the postmaster's arbitrarily made personal choice...not a sound one. My mail has markedly ceased for the past 2 weeks with the exception of junk mail. First class mail is not being put in my box. I know this because my father sent a card that I have yet to receive. Fact. They can expect to have a formal complaint filed, shortly. Update: August now and I'm just receiving mail from my insurance provider...postmarked May.

It is nice of Fort Lee to have a post office right next to the small PX. I was in AIT and needed to…read moremail home some clothes that I never used. And so for my last three weekends at Fort Lee, I paid separate visits to this post office to package my clothing home and ship it to Washington. On all three occasions, the result was success, although I did pay more than I would have liked to. This place is fairly small and seemingly always busy, yet the line appears to move at a rapid pace even without only two or so people staffed at the counter. There is a table in the back where you can set your box down as you assemble it. If you're lucky, maybe somebody before you has already purchased tape and left it on the table for you to use for free. Otherwise, you'd have to pay the $3.99 or whatever it is to buy a roll of tape that you'll probably only ever use once. Reo is a nice guy who works there; he says he's a former Marine and he asks customers the question "What's the difference between Army tanks and Marine tanks?" The answer is "Army tanks have backup lights," and it supposedly means that the Army tanks are retreating. I don't get it, but he's a cool dude who taught me that ballpoint pens are great for tearing apart tape. He also told me weird things like making the return address some location close to the shipping address so that it at least has a backup location to go to in case the package is shipped back and I'm already gone from Fort Lee. Overall, it's just your average post office on a military installation.

They close whenever apparently. When I showed up three other people came to mail items and the doors were locked, lights out at 12:20. Why not just change the posted hours?

Andy, a staff member, was yelling, discourteous, and unprofessional towards a customer. Unbeknownst to him, a USPS mediator was in line behind the lady and intervened without de-escalation in Andy's rude behavior. It is disheartening to witness anyone being treated poorly. I want to express my appreciation for the other patrons in the post office who voiced their support for the woman and her young daughters. Andy's behavior was unacceptable. I gave the full video of the interaction to the lady who was being criticized. Post Office: Address: 6400 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234

This time it was 9:00 am and no one was in line ... wow that's a first. The clerk was friendly and welcoming. I complimented her on how well stocked the front was. Neat and organized. She expressed how she does this every morning she works. All your postal needs were there. Different size packing boxes and envelopes, cards, priority mail flat rate boxes and envelopes. A variety of stamps for all of us who still Send Mail. Yes I grabbed some. I was a happy customer when I left. Thank you Chester Post Office for all your hard work at delivering our mail.
