That's all I will say for that male employee, who wouldn't seek the hoyer lift. My uncle called back to complain and Jenni listened attentively without judgement to neither on the employee she works with or my uncle. Jenni was extremely empathetic and her sincerity resonated an employee who truly cares about the patients, and not "just a person who uses a wheelchair". Applause to Torrance Memorial for having such a dedicated employee, and exemplifies the top notch leadership skills for her team.

The people at the front desk didn't acknowledge me as I stood next with no one in line. There were 3 people at the reception desk. One on the phone and two available. One just looked at me and looked forced to say something. Didn't smile, didn't greet or say hello. Nonchalant and just dismissive. However people who were older and of a different race got better treatment around me. I also waited an additional 30 minutes after my appointment. The only reason I'm giving this department 4 stars aside from the wait and slow receptionist area, is because of Dr. Lam. She was amazing. She was so sweet, took her time, knew what she was doing, she was gentle, and reassured me with all the things she was saying. She answered all my questions, and performed all the necessary exams as a follow up. She also cleaned the equipment every single time before using on me. Dr. Lam was also friendly, and made conversations with me. After the doctor did all the exams, she directed me to check out with a staff member and I was out the door. It was easy and smooth. I highly recommend this doctor. She's very knowledgeable and easy to work with. The department just needs to work on the receptionist area. Be more friendly, and attentive.

I took my mom here last Friday for a persistent cough, and by Monday her condition had not improved. When I tried to schedule an appointment with her primary care physician, I was told they needed records from the urgent care visit before they could properly evaluate her. I called the urgent care and was told obtaining the records would be simple--just come in and request them. Unfortunately, that was far from the case. Once I arrived, I received conflicting information from multiple staff members. One person indicated the employee who handled records was on break. Another staff member attempted to make a copy of the medical record but was told they could not. Then I was informed that my mom needed to provide written authorization. As I prepared to have my mom send that authorization, another employee stated that the request had to come directly from her primary care physician. The lack of consistency and clear guidance was both confusing and unacceptable, especially when timely access to medical records is essential for continued care. Patients and their families should not have to navigate contradictory instructions simply to obtain records related to their own treatment. Which process is actually correct? Why is it so difficult to access medical records when prompt medical follow-up depends on them?

I was called at 10:07am to pick up my husband for carpal tunnel surgery, and they said he would be ready within 20-25 minutes. I was instructed to call upon arrival, and when I did, I was told to wait outside and he would be brought out. I called, and it took a solid three minutes to get through to someone. They answered with a very blunt "what?" and when I said I was here to pick up my husband, they said "okay we'll go get him" and hung up. I was outside for 20 minutes waiting before they called again, and asked if I was here to get him yet. I had to tell them "yeah actually I've been out here for 20 minutes, I called you guys 20 minutes ago." And then was given just a rushed "oh okay, we'll bring him out right now!" What the heck were you guys doing to where my husband was just sitting there for 20 minutes? Ridiculous.
