After a 4-1/2 hour drive into Vegas, with a week-long trade show starting the next day, I thought I'd grab a massage. Using yelp!, I found U Spa just five minutes from my hotel with a 4.5 star rating. Sounded good to me and I made an appointment for a 90-minute Swedish. Now, to qualify the review. 1) I don't know if there are any state or local statutes that govern how massages are done. If that is the case, then my 2-star rating might be unfair. 2) If the type of massage was company policy, then it's not the therapist's fault, but the rating stands. 3) If it was the therapist, maybe I just got unlucky. Rating still stands. Exterior of building was neat and clean with plenty of parking in a strip mall. I think most of the businesses were closed except for U Spa, but there was plenty of lighting. Lobby was clean and well presented. Person at the front desk and I had some language disconnect, but we worked through it. I had a 6:30 appt, but showed up very early, which seemed to cause some consternation. I assumed there would be some sort of intake form, but none was requested. I was willing to wait for my appointment, but within a minute or two they accommodated me with a therapist. The massage area is comprised of a number of cubicles with short (5') walls that define the massage areas. I'm six feet tall and could easily look across the whole area. There are curtain doors. I was escorted to one of the cubicles and left to undress for the massage. Everything in the cubicle, including the bedding seemed very clean and prepared. One thing that threw me was the table was split...two thirds table and one third table with a missing section. What I didn't see was a foot soaker in between. Started out on my stomach, as always, but therapist said to turn over on my back. She dropped my feet into the soaker, and started on a scalp massage. The scalp massage went on...and on....and on...like, I'm thinking "OK that was nice for awhile, but let's get moving". Good job on it, but WAY too much. Then the feet came out and she worked on feet and calves. Went on...and on...and on...and again, I'm thinking "nice for awhile, but the clock is ticking". After a bit of this and that it was time to turn over. She did a nice job on my back, and then it was over. No glutes, no hams, no back of calves. It's a "full body massage" that misses all the important parts. Now, the therapist was very nice and sweet, no issues with her, just the massage seemed poorly timed and there was either a clear decision NOT to massage certain parts, or she was just untrained on time management. After massage, I paid and tipped and headed back, thinking it would have been more pleasureable to have shreeded the money or given it to someone to gamble away. Find another place. read more

Yelp reviews came through once again! This place caught my eye based on the stars and reviews as I was searching on yelp for a relatively low cost but quality massage. What locked the deal for me was the offers they had advertised such as $30 combo massage for 60 mins. I called to make an appointment just in case but I wanted to get in ASAP and what do you know, no wait at all which made me happy :) Upon arrival I was greeted immediately and notified them of my appointment. The place smelled nice and surprisingly huge! Very clean and nice ambiance and vibe. I do not like super rough massages and my masseuse was perfect. He got knots out where I needed and also made it so relaxing! There are a lot of affordable massage places and I have tried many and they always have been ok but this place is now somewhere I will return again and again! Amazing customer service. We were in Vegas for a weekend trip and wanted a massage after all the hustle and bustle of being in Vegas and Sandy was so sweet and accommodating. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! VERY RUDE!!!! I was super excited for my husband and I to go here and have a 90min couples massage after seeing a Groupon. I called U Spa and they asked me not to purchase the Groupon and that they'd honor it. I received a confirmation and was good. I noticed that there was a 30% off promo code for Groupon so I called and asked if they'd honor the 30% off or I could purchase the Groupon. I was told they could do $108 but the Groupon would've given me $101.50. He told me no and that I could go next door. I asked if he was cancelling my reservation and he said yes and hung up on me. I tried to call back with no success. They ignored calls and then it eventually went straight to voicemail. I then receive a text message saying they didn't understand and that they will not accept my reservation. So i tried to explain through text and they said they were canceling my reservation out of bad faith. I informed them that I would be writing a review about my experience with them to alert other customer of their pore business management. He text back and said "they don't like guests like me" and to not use discriminatory language." I was simply asking for them to honor the price or I could purchase the Groupon. No mean words or anything from my side. I felt very offended and mistreated. I do not recommend for anyone to give their money to this company. I did enjoy my massage. The gal who worked on me was good, the place was clean and relaxing and they were able to accommodate my large group. The only thing I did not like is the "expected" tips. One person in our group tipped $7 for her $49 service. The masseuse handed back the cash -stating it was not enough. Which really upset my friend! So she kept her cash and left- and then followed her out to the car demanding a larger tip! Many in the group were tip shamed if they did not tip $20 or more for a $49 service! But through my whole massage I had to keep reminding the person that did my massage that I wanted light tissue.. When she did my head it hurt like hell, and told her to be gentle. The massage for me was only ok, not enough pressure, felt parts were somewhat neglected (shoulders, upper arms, back of neck/head, hand, etc) and she seemed to mostly use her elbow or arm to give massage, and they left the room a lot for towels etc. I once wondered a couple of times... is she coming back soon? Is my stuff safe? It was. They did come back. My husband said his massage was great. The ambiance was great and staff friendly. Cubical spaced nicely, place clean and relaxing. I had called to book and it seemed price kept changing (or it was a language barrier). We indicated we wanted couples massage, deep tissue he stated for us to pay there no Groupon (135$). When you arrive, you pay first and cash only. That was troubling as there is no inquiry for past injuries or preferences. Know they line up for tips after and you'll feel like a jerk if it's not good. I don't recommend this place myself since I went to Avalon Day Spa (used Groupon) in Sept and it was just better for me (pricing, pressure, safety form, etc). read more
