I came here after visiting Breathe Salt Room and they gave out free samples. I tried them and they were really good. Right after we visited salt room, i took my daughters and visited for lunch pick up. Unfortunately everything was ruined when the employee girl assisted with my order. Not sure if she was having a bad day , but from the start she had this bad attitude and energy towards me. I told her i wanted 3 empanadas and order acai bowls and her vibe was very negative with unpleasant tone. I could tell right away she didnt want to work and didnt want to help me. I gave her 3 orders of empanadas and asked her to give me 2 medium acai bowls. Gave her clear instructions what to have for 1st bowl and 2nd bowl, which she did but seemed frustrated? It was our first time here and i was asking her few questions and she was clearly annoyed also. Once we got to the step to put some different syrup drizzle for both cups, she mixed it up and made a mistake. I clarified again i wanted honey drizzle on mango and almond butter on acai, and she asked me with a attitude "so you dont want these bowls?" It almost felt like i wasted her time and work! Her attitude was the worst ive seen this year at any restaurant. I said yes because my girls dont eat peanut butter and we just want the right order, i wasnt upset rather confused. Once I asked her to remake the right order, her face turned dark and she was clearly upset. At the end she brought the cups, did not even apologize, gave me all the attitude, and gave me the bags and did not say anything... no thank you for coming, NO sorry there was a mistake, nothing. I felt really bad for the owner of this place because store seems to be new and running well but has a cancer in their store. The restaurant can have best price, best quality, best presentation but if you have horrible customer service oriented staff, they will run out of business. As a small business owner myself, I hope the owner(s) read this message Please retrain your staff and if they cannot embrace basic customer service skills, they shouldn't be working for you They will drive your store to ZERO In case if the owners are curious, the girl who assisted us had tattoos in her both arms. I didnt see any name tags, she had dark skin, maybe Asian, but had tattoos on her arms. Unfortunately this will be the first and last time coming. I don't know who decided to put passion fruit jelly on top of an açaí bowl... but they deserve a raise. You get that deep, cold açaí flavor first, smooth and just the right amount of sweet... and then the passion fruit jelly hits. It doesn't blend quietly. It crashes into it in the best way. Bright, tangy, a little tropical punch that wakes the whole bowl up. Every bite is that contrast... rich and refreshing, then sharp and juicy. It shouldn't work this well, but it absolutely does. I was glad to have received a coupon to purchase a bowl from Ubatuba at a discounted price from a running event, so I decided to go to their Brea location as I was in the area. My bowl included a mango and agave coconut base with bananas, blueberries, kiwis, and papayas. I went light on dry toppings with coconut shavings and dry almonds. I've been on an empanada binge lately and thought I'd stop in to try the empanadas here at Ubatuba. There was a larger variety available than I had previously seen on line, so that was a nice surprise! I went with 2 savory, 1 sweet: Philly Cheesesteak, Mushroom, and Banana/Dulce de Leche. Apparently the empanadas are shipped to the store frozen and are heated up/prepared as they're ordered, so I did have to wait a few minutes for that to be done. The mushroom one was completely filled with a delicious mix of mushrooms, cheese and onions ~ I'd definitely get this one again! The Philly cheesesteak may have defrosted and refrozen at some point because the filling was all bunched towards the bottom of the empanada, leaving a big empty pocket at the top. All the flavors of a Philly cheesesteak were there, but this one was a miss this time. I'd give it another try to see if the filling is better distributed. The dessert empanada rounded everything off nicely. The filling was evenly distributed throughout and had great flavor without being overly sweet. While I was waiting for my order to come up, I checked out their açaí bowl offerings and was quite impressed! Base choices are limited, but the toppings selection is impressive. I spotted a fresh papaya and a ginger sauce which I haven't seen at other bowl places. I'm looking forward to trying a bowl at a future visit. The store itself is streamlined, nicely laid out, and clean. Seating is plentiful. There seemed to only be one person working, but she was friendly and answered all my questions as a first timer. Came here after their grand opening because I thought I could get free stuff - turns out it was one day only but we did still score a bogo deal. I got a large bowl with Acai, mango, coconut, and a splash of passion fruit juice. The passion fruit juice really tied the bowl together by adding a nice tang. I topped it with hemp granola, all the tropical fruits and some seeds. The base was pretty good but it kinda tasted like sherbet. I think I would've appreciated a more natural mango or coconut flavor but the sweetness made it feel less healthy. I had peanut and almond butter on mine - the girl who helped me SQUEEZED it on very generously. As nice as that was, it was a bit too much nut butter for me. My husband enjoyed the excess though! My only complaint is the papaya - I know that it can be bitter but I definitely had some pieces that were more bitter than expected. I felt like maybe I was eating a rind? It threw off the flavors of the bowl and made me nervous about scooping another papaya down below. Otherwise, everything was delicious. We'd probably come back but definitely not if I'm seeking something "fresh" and "healthy". read more

We walked inside around 8pm and were greeted right away by three amazing people behind the counter. The place was clean and inviting. They offered us samples of the different bases and informed us about the various toppings we could get. My daughter liked the Açaí base and I went with the Pitaya (not real sweet). We had fresh fruit added to our bowls (blueberries, strawberries and bananas). The service and bowls were great and we'll definitely be back. I've never been a big fan of Açaí bowls because I found them to be too sweet but with the Pitaya I was pleasantly surprised; it left me wanting more. They had the usual açaí base, a coconut one, passion fruit one, matcha one, and a mango one.
