Came in today and didn't even get to enjoy a smoothie. Is this due to the only worker in the shop? Absolutely not. On the contrary, I've been to this location on numerous occasions and all the workers I've interacted with are super sweet. The young lady who was working around 5pm today is one of my favorites (my sincerest apologies, I didn't get her name and they don't have name tags), but she is always consistent and delivers the most amazing items, no matter what you pick from the menu. Her presentation is gorgeous and she's constantly on top of it. When I walked in today, I could immediately tell something was off. She had a long line of online orders and they kept printing out whilst she was struggling to try to finish the four different acai bowls she was working on. She had no one to help her to clean the blenders or anything else that needed cleaning and she looked extremely overwhelmed and upset. And I know me walking in was only adding to her stress. She needed back up and to see that she had no one broke my heart. As someone who has worked in the food industry, this is uncalled for. Give your amazing workers a raise and provide them with the back up they deserve. read more

It was my first time visiting Nectar Juice Bar, and unfortunately the experience was very frustrating. The employee taking my order was very difficult to understand, which made it hard to communicate what I wanted. I asked for a smoothie that my friend has ordered many times and specifically requested coconut, but due to the language barrier, the order wasn't done correctly and I didn't get what I asked for. If you're working at an American shop, it's important to at least be familiar with common ingredients customers ask for so orders can be made correctly and customers can be understood. OK I had to come back and update my review. The manager or owner made things right . I go there whenever in Whittier. I get the lunch special veggie salad with a juice for 13.99 tou can't beat it very reasonable prices they since got new staff, juices are on point and if it's not you can let them know they probably will make another one they have for me. I recommend this place. If you download the app you earn points and get free items the more points the bigger the items. I ordered a pick up order and the woman working there wasn't necessarily rude at all, but she wasn't a ray of sunshine either and she seemed like she didn't want to be there. I have been to this location before and have gotten smoothies. They've always turned out really good, and past staff I have interacted with were friendly. I use to work at this location during my college years so I completely understand the daily struggle of working at a smoothie shop. With that being said, I've been coming here the past month or so there's two things I noticed. 1) I always see 1 person working, never 2 or 3 (whether in the morning or afternoon which is crazy to depend on 1 person handling register and making all the orders) 2) My smoothies come out too watered down and not filled all the way to the top. $15 bucks wasted! I do not want to blame the staff because again, I understand that there's only so much 1 person can do and you could chalk the experiences as bad coincidence but please management, do better. Get a free 16oz (small) smoothie or juice with signing up with the app. First time getting a juice, I am not a juice person to start because juices usually taste pretty "green" and healthy. The Greenie (extra apple, no parsley) tasted good for a juice. My friend said the Boost juice tasted really good. It was like orange juice. George was great! It smelled like mildew and the guy who took my order was sweeping and had gloves on and as i walking in he went to take my order, he took my order with the gloves still on and MADE my smoothie with the gloves he was using to sweep. Very clean Nekter! Stopped in for a juice after a workout and got the free ginger shot for checking in (love a good check in!) It was fresh and spicy, just like I like! I also ordered a small Green Apple Detox for $7.15 (a little steep, but fresh juice also cost a little more) and it was tasty. I got the peanut butter açaí bowl which I guess the peanut butter is mixed in with the smoothie portion. I barely tasted any peanut butter. It's not a traditional açaí bowl as the base version is a smoothie. The reason for my 3 stars is first my bowl didn't have a peanut butter taste to it and that's what I got and second is how dirty the iPad was for you to sign your signature. The iPad felt so crusty and looked so dirty! All your customers are touching the same iPad please disinfect it at least daily. If the iPad is that dirty makes me wonder how dirty the kitchen is. Been a frequent fan of Nektar juices mostly because of getting older and making a point to stay on top of my health with their healthy lifestyle menu. I run 3 different restaurants with over 127 employees and I know potential great employees. Haylen, who was on her own for the Brea Nekter location was holding it down for peek afternoon business when I came in after 4 PM. I had my usual "Recovery" & "Strawberry Bannana" juices & smoothies and all were made to standard recipe to keep up with the Nektar consistency. Point what made Haylen stand out was not folding to the demand of business. Being by herself, maintaining on-line orders, as well as new in coming Guests who are still undecided on their drinks with a million questions she was very pleasant, maintained her time management, and was constantly smiling with all her Guests. It's not easy running small businesses especially out here in California but it's also more difficult on finding great team members to help run an operations. Great job with finding and bringing Haylen aboard your Brea Nektar operations. I would not have any hesitation on bringing someone like her to my own businesses. read more

The bagel store next door was very popular, but Nekter seemed like the healthier choice at the time. We got the berry bowl and the mango bowl (subbed in nut milk for a Tropical bowl) and it was presented beautifully! Yes - the bowls and smoothies take a while to make but the reason I like Nekter is that they make the bowl to order and not let it sit in the freezer. I do like the variety of fruit and the freshness of the bowl itself. I'm still in shock of the steady increase in prices but hey- what can you do?
