This has the best selection of cool, edgy or trendy frames and service of any place that I have found in all of Sonoma County. I have to take away a star since they do not accept ANY insurance. That's not to say that you can't still submit your paperwork to your insurance company after you purchase and get some reimbursement but it probably won't be the same as going to a network provider. Huge bummer because they have lost some business from me because of that. However I've still purchased a couple of frames and found some that I was able to order elsewhere. The get orders filled quickly. And the quality of workmanship in the lenses I have not found any problems with. I love love love this place. I just wish they took my insurance. read more

WARNING: This could happen to you Imagine that you and your spouse are in the process of buying 4 pairs of prescription frames. You have gone to one store in Sonoma and bought a great pair and now have 3 to go. You find Uber Optics in Yelp and go there next. You both are trying on several pairs of frames and taking pictures of each other with the other spouse's camera to see what they look like on and for later reference. Uber Optics had a few hundred pairs of frames just laying on shelves and the mirrors are several steps away so when you get back to put it back it is not obvious where they should go so you just put it anywhere. Someone comes to help one of you for a short while but they are soon doing something else. The process is find a pair you like, take out your camera, have your spouse take a picture of you with it on, check, repeat. It's a great day in paradise until after a while my wife finds two pairs she likes and the woman who was helping her took down her name, address, phone number and information about the frames she liked. Then Nancy came over and accused my wife of putting one of the pairs in her pocket. Now this is totally off the rails because that never occurred. She may have seen her with frames and putting her camera into her pocket but she never saw what she said she saw. She then asked my wife to empty her pockets which she did but no frames were found. My wife was furious at this point and stormed out. I was also upset at the sheer gall of accusing us innocent customers of theft but I kept my cool and told Nancy that we may have put it down in the wrong place but I am sure she knows where they all go. She said it might be in storage somewhere so I also left. When we got home we got a call from an officer at the Petaluma Police Department who said only that my wife had been caught on a security camera putting a frame in her pocket and to return the frame. Now that is just a bold lie because it never happened that way. If there is footage it probably shows one of the times my wife putting her camera in her pocket while she was holding a set of frames. I am sure there is no footage of her actually putting a set of frames in her pocket. When we got home we went through all our pockets and her purse to make sure we didn't inadvertently put a frame there there but didn't find anything. Nancy says there is a pair of glasses missing but there must be another reason they went missing: misplaced by staff; stolen by someone else, who knows. Not our problem. My wife gave her real name, address and phone number. This is not something a thief would do. It would be like a bank robber taking a selfie with a police officer on the way out of robbing a bank. We have been dragged through an inferno of emotions for doing nothing but trying to buy some frames at the wrong store. The next time you decide to buy glasses please don't go here unless you would like to take the chance of being treated like us. read more

I recently got a new pair of glasses through my insurance provider, but due to the style it kept falling off the bridge of my nose. I was walking by this store and took a chance to walk into Uber Optics to see if I could get recommendations or if there was a small fix they could do. I'd been back to where I got my glasses twice, and what they did did made the glasses more uneven. You'd never guess how great this store is from the outside! Not that the outside isn't charming, because it is. However, this store is huge and has an endless amount of styles to pick from. Who I assume is the owner greeted me and made sure I knew to let her know if I had any questions or needed help finding anything and left me on my merry way to explore. WOW... this place has ALL styles and is for everyone. They don't do eye exams there but they are able to take your prescriptions to order and fit your specs. As I was perusing, they were helping a couple fit glasses. They were so genuine and wanted their customers to be happy with the style and fit of their glasses. Love that. But not only trendy - they have elegant, classic, and an assortment of colorful frames as well.
