I am writing this review to let others know that I had a very bad experience with Uber a couple of weeks ago. My car has a problem with the transmission which is stressful enough. We have been using Uber to get to and from work. I have been a great customer with Uber and I always give 5 star reviews to my drivers and give very good tips. This particular time I called an Uber and so did my fiance, I should have just gone with his. I waited for awhile with no sign of my Uber even though it said he was there. He called me to find out where I was and I asked him if he saw the Papa Johns on the corner, he said that he didn't. He said something about Smiths and so I figure he was around the block somewhere. We went back and forth and he call me about 4 times and still couldn't find me. I was standing in the street so very visible. I finally had to go and meet him to get the drive at the Papa Johns of which he said he didn't see (in the meantime I thought he went into our condo parking so I had to run in and get the remote and dropped it and broke it as I was flustered). I got in the car and we got on 215 south. I was trying to call work to tell them I would be late (it took him 30 min to find me), he then took the I80 East exit instead of 201, he either didn't have the GPS running or he couldn't read it? He took me all the way back to town, by 600 south and to 13th south before going to 900 west to get back on the 201, to redwood and to work. By this time I was 30 minutes late to work. I bit later I checked my phone to rate the ride and saw that he hadn't closed me out, I tried to hit cancel and it actually double charged me. I contacted Uber by email and explained. They refunded me the overage. I asked them to refund the ride as it was very unprofessional and problematic. They said that they could not do that. I told them they should at least give me a discount for the inconvenience and we went back and forth and they refused to give me a discount, even 10% would have made me feel a little better like they cared but they said they wouldn't give me anything else. The refund they gave me was their fault and I felt like the driver tried to make it look like we made multiple stops. He hardly spoke english and couldn't follow even my directions. I told Uber that I would go with Lyft if they were not going to make it right, I told them that they may not care because I am one person but if there are a lot of "me's" giving reviews like this they should care. I didn't hear anything. I have been taking Lyft with no problems and they have always found my fiance and I right away no matter where we are. They are more professional and just very nice. There were nice drivers with Uber to but their customer service was void. They do not make the situation right even when they should. Don't go with them, they really are not reputable in my opinion. I arrived at the Denver Union Station and proceeded to obtain an Uber. Less in cost than a taxi cab, and I have used Uber in the past, with very good service. I highly recommend Richard, he arrived in a Lincoln Town Car, as my ride would be over an hour, the ride was comfortable. Richard is professional, courteous and a pleasant conversationalist. First rides with Uber. Courteous, good drivers. Here's the issue. What they cryptically call Surge Pricing. Ride cost $9 one way. The return trip was $24. Why? There was a foot race going on downtown. So it was busy. I'm going to call my senator and Representative to see if they can do something to regulate this industry. Maybe it's just growing pains. But to me it's "let the buyer beware, or whatever the traffic will bear". I'll try lyft next time. read more

I would give 00ber an even lower rating if I could. I was at a park attending a child's birthday party when I noticed that I had 4 missed calls on my phone. I called the number back and it was an Uber driver and he said he was having trouble finding me? I said I don't understand, I did not contact you? He said that I must have other wise he would not be there looking for me... I was having trouble understanding him because he was Mexican and spoke very bad english. I told him that I have NO out going calls made on my phone and NO out going Texts on my phone! He said ok and hung up. 2 days later my wife got a large charge from Uber from her bank account, I couldn't believe it! They also took a TIP' they had our info because we used Uber two months earlier. I will never use Uber again especially since there are better, much cheaper ride companies out there now, you cannot contact Uber in any way or for any reason.... I'm betting crap like this is the reason. If you use Uber you will be taken for more of a ride than you bargained for! read more

What a terrible service. Web pages don't work. Constant re-setting of password. Can't contact a human being.

I need an 18 mile ride home from airport. After getting a 7 min, no car available and a 15 minute, I asked for a price estimate. It was a range of $87-114!! Ridiculous. I took Yellow and w a 10 min construction delay it was $64. High, but it was less than Uber and they were in line outside and ready to go. I have had very good Uber experience in Bay Area. No Cars Available at the airport is absurd if you're really in this business. read more

Do not rely on uber in Salt Lake City. I tried to get a car from the airport and there were none available.

Uber SHOULD have a "check ID policy" or other safeguards in place if someone uses a credit card number!!! My card # was involved in FRAUD with Uber. Shame on you Uber for NOT taking the proper safe guards!! Thankfully I caught it in time and reported this fraudulent activity from Uber to my bank and they was able take care of it! I never use Uber since I have my own car!! This was not good!! read more

Not very honest! Used them on two different legs of a trip, but I don't think ever again., Quoted one price in advance and when all was said and done, the bill was twice the cost. Happened on both legs. The account was set up under my daughter and of course they are not going to talk to me, oh wait there isn't anyone to talk to anyway, its all one online. I an an avid user of the uber gift cards they have because my card won't work on their app for some reason. With that being said, I took a ride yesterday that went over my credits by $1.20. This has happened in the past a few times and it has been taken care of right away. However, last night the charge wasn't quickly removed. I bought two different uber cards equaling out to $40 trying to get a petty 1.20 off so I could get a ride home. That didn't work still, so I walked an hour and a half at 3 in the morning. Then to my surprise customer service still hadn't gotten to me today. Unless I want to walk everywhere I am stuck in my house.......over a buck twenty. The drivers never pay attention to my address, just follow gps and I always have to walk over a few streets to get to them as well. read more

Uber is a very good taxi service with very nice drivers. I had to complain about a very stinky car, then UBER gave me a $10 credit for having been exposed to a very stinky car. read more

Hello, I'm very disappointed to have to give such a low rating to a service I have always loved and used more than anyone I know. I heard about Uber way before it launched because I work in the tech industry. It was cool and high-quality for the first several years. But, just like anything cool, it has grown to the point that the wrong people have found out about it. More and more I'm getting the old-school rude taxi driver types. They are exactly what I don't want when I request an Uber. In fact, if someone is coming from the taxi industry, they need extra training to 'untaxify' them. Customer service is the whole point and there is no room for rude drivers with big personalities. Also, if you wanted to drive for Uber because you are lonely and want someone to talk to, that's wrong. Please speak when you are spoken to and let the customer lead the conversation. Sometimes we want to talk, sometimes we don't. This attitude that your passenger owes you a conversation or answers to your curious questions feels very low-class. I think retirees are a great fit for Uber, but if you are too old and deaf to drive you are risking public safety. If you can't safely drive, I'm sorry but Uber is not for you. I am taking a much needed break from Uber to see if things improve. For the first time in several years, I am actually considering buying a car again. Rob read more

Uber is great services, but the surge pricing is killing, I prefer use TaxiTapp the rate is quite closer to Uber and doesn't surge.

I cannot depend on Uber as I have been left waiting longer than the time stated when they would arrive. I was left waiting this summer at Target in SLC for almost 2 hrs with a basketful of groceries outside in the heat. I finally had to call my son at work to come and get me. I have been told a few times that "no cars available" when I once had a drs appt. and missed it. I have waited for the pickup several time only to be told after several minutes that "no cars available" after they had emailed me a time of 19mins. to pickup which kept changing yet going back again to 19 minutes . I can't depend on a return ride and I would be left waiting because it is always too far for me to walk home. Yes, I would like to depend on Uber as I am 89 yrs old and need to know I can depend on them for a return ride to my home . I guess I will try LYFT in the future I have had a couple of very helpful drivers who go out of their way to help when necessary and I always tip very well for the help, but I need to have a definite assurance I will get a ride home within a reasonable time. read more
