They are getting very dirty right now they charge a booking fee but worst than that . The price comes up for a ride but when the driver shows up on the app the price has gone up $10. You can see anything until the driver comes up and the price jumps $10 . They also know where you are but send a driver to a different location that you aren't aware of happens to me a lot . They no have no recourse to complain about anything. If they send a driver to the wrong location it's still on you . No phone nothing but siphoning of your bank account. Yet another angry customer. I got an on-time pick-up by a good driver today; BUT he used the Uber GPS to drive me home. I didn't know where we were half the time. To drive home from where we were to home normally takes about 11 minutes. The route the Uber GPS took us on took perhaps 25 minutes and miles out of our way. I think the ridiculous route their GPS led us on was a disgusting way to charge more money! I will never use Uber by choice. I believe that Uber Couriers were involved, perhaps inadvertently, in a scam yesterday 10/30/2025. My issue and concern is that there is no way I can find to contact Uber to report this and perhaps find out the address of where the packages were delivered. There is no online link or phone number. The drivers are super great but communicating with the office is very difficult unless you wish to rent a car. Everything is done to avoid voice communication. The staff is instructed to refer to you to the webpage but there is no communication there. A booking fee was added to my reservation which was entirely online. Don't EVER use UberEats! "We don't offer compensation for orders being the wrong temperature." They don't care about you or if the food is cold because the driver had it with them for 45 minutes! (the restaurant was about 15 minutes from me) On 11/1/24, I ordered food delivery through Ubereats. The quoted estimated wait time was an hour from the order being placed. The delivery driver picked up the food 30 minutes after the order was placed. I spoke with them and asked if they had any other deliveries to drop off before delivering mine, and he said yes, he had a "few". My food arrived 45 minutes later, and it was cold. Anyone who uses Ubereats knows that the quoted delivery window shown on the order status screen will update itself by extending the "latest delivery by" number as the order progresses and the first quoted "latest delivery by" time passes by. I attempted to seek recompense through the dystopian chat bot labyrinth, but each agent had the same script, the same copied and pasted chunks of text about how hard Uber is striving to address my concerns and how genuinely invested they personally are in my satisfaction. It will turn out that this is not factually correct! Shocking, I know! The agent told me that since my order arrived on time (within their quoted timeframe, which kept lengthening as to become meaningless), they can't refund anything. That doesn't make sense, since they kept changing the timeframe they were using to justify their refusal! What's worse, they even said this multiple times: "we don't offer compensation for orders being the wrong temperature." In other words, they do not care if the food is hot or cold when it gets to me. Wow. They even word it in a way that makes it seem like I am wrong to expect hot (or at least warm!) food. That actually took this cynical soul by surprise. I cannot find Uber Eats but I believe they have the same customer service copout. I called the numbers plural each one saying they no longer provide customer service by phone and to use the chat. The chat sucks!!!!! I can't even begin to express my frustration with chatting with several reps and to get a terrible answer as to why they will not help. Calling the non English speaking driver was also frustrating because even when I translated via Google he still didn't cancel my order. Not a Uber customer, but I'm worked as an on site shuttle coordinator for the Nvidia GTC event in San Jose Convention Center. Since day 1, we got issue with Uber coming into the shuttle only curb side dropping off their passengers , even there are numerous sign mention NO stopping all time or Shuttle ONLY. Not only Uber drivers never brother with the signs, when the on-site coordinator ask them to leave they act very aggressive toward the onsite coordinators many even flip their middle finger and shout the F word to them. I wonder did Uber driver think they can do whatever they want? Did Uber ever train their drivers to pay attention to the sign? No stopping all time or Shuttle only sign means Nothing to Uber? Uber should do some basic training for drivers for convention venues, there will always be traffic restrictions during convention. Uber sends message stating that they where very busy at the time which required them to increase their rates. Uber eats is the worst , I accidentally ordered a meal and hit 2 x instead of just one, I made a quick cancellation and reordered again from the same restaurant. Uber eats didn't not refund me my 30 second cancellation meal, instead my burger from Burger King meal, cost me 80$ I had to pay for the cancelled and the new order, I contacted for a refund and they said there's nothing they can do. I had an emergency and I used Uber for the first time. Uber arrived on time and when I arrived to my destination, I gave the driver cash for the trip cost ($19.00) plus $6.00 tip -total $25.00. I didn't realize that Uber billed my credit card for the cost, since I was stressed out. I informed Uber customer service of my mistake, I gave the name and license plate of the driver and the date and time. I asked Uber to reimburse me of my cost and to check with the driver the amount of cash that I gave him. The computer generated customer service referred me to another department and wrote that I would receive an email from that department. After several weeks, thus far, Uber has failed to contact me. There is mostly good to say about this service and here's the deets on why it works for me. From my experience I use Uber twice a week in a month, M-F and I'm ok with it. This vs. public transit is much faster when planned ahead and you pay more for the convenience. Why wouldn't you? No more strong arm gestures at the local parking lot. Usually I pool with other riders because it is affordable, but eats up time getting to the destination. NBD. Send out the pickup early and you will be happy you did on your bank statement. Typically I ask for a Uber to get to the Doctor's office or an Interview with the agency. I find that though I do pay more for mile with Uber, I get to my place sooner, In good company also. Time is money and I don't waste it on waiting around. I'd like to uber to Sacto or So-cal someday. Uber road trip? My only gripe is that some drivers believe that gps is a crystal ball or something. A good old fashioned sharp memory works better if not clearer. I tell Uber Drivers where they should be going and I get to the address on time. Was trying to go from Natomas to the Golden 1 Center for a fun game of Kings vs. Lakers basketball. It was great! I planned the Uber and got to the location I had seen on Uber. Well, apparently I was not in the exact location. She called and started speaking to me like she was upset. I told her I was behind her and she stopped the car and then took off, hung up in my face and cancelled the ride. Of course there was a $5 fee. I ended up driving my own car. I would give 0 starts but I can't. I ordered baskin robins from Uber eats last night and when it arrived it was literally a quart of melted ice creme( un eatable). Uber has professional way of transporting cold ice creme, they don't use coolers or anything to keep it from melting. I reached out to Uber about my order and this was their response! I've asked my ex for rides to the airport and she barks out "use Uber", and hangs up the phone, quicker than when she gets a telemarketer! Finally I use my smart phone as an internet site, besides as a simple phone, and load up the Uber mobile app. I fill out a questionnaire, including name, address, credit card number, e-mail, cell phone number, and a code when finalizing the app on the cell phone. I use Uber is for a ride to San Jose airport at 9am Friday. I open up the app, with the built in GPS already knowing my location, select my type of transportation: uber-pool, uber-x, uber-suv, or uber-black, cheapest to most expensive. Being a cheapskate, I select uber-pool, enter my destination, see the fare, and confirm the ride. Uber comes back with a driver first name and picture, his vehicle make-model-license plate number, and time of arrival. Late model Toyota Corolla driven by a white dude in his 50s. The driver has my name and picture on his GPS screen mounted on an attachment on the steering column. Car comes to my home within 3 minutes, with driver getting out to help the wife and I with the luggage, 2 carry on and 2 under seat pieces. Uber logo on the front dashboard. In New York city in the rain, the driver of a taxi never got out of the car to help us with our luggage in his interior stained Prius. The Corolla is spotless, with no cigarette odors, no stains, and no ripped upholstery. I get in the front seat, and the wife in the back. Since it is an Uber pool ride, we make another stop in Sunnyvale, a bit of a detour, adding at least 8 minutes time to get to our destination. It's another Asian dude going to San Jose State, and he gets to sit with my wife. No hanky panky to worry about as my wife is twice his age! Brisk traffic on the freeway, with the driver safely dropping us at the departures area, helping us unload the luggage, while I tip him $4 to add to the $7 fare, for the 13 mile ride, getting us there in one piece! Why so much of a tip? The Uber-pool rides lose money for the drivers, and they have to eat just like anyone else. Taxi ride to the airport is $39 from Sunnyvale, and Wingz is $27, and Uber-X is $14 during non surge periods. Fast forward a week. We are going from San Jose airport to Sunnyvale on a Saturday afternoon. Wife and I are at the arrivals area outside, when I punch in the Uber app. The app GPS zeroes in on my location, and says the driver will pick us up at ride share area 8 in the center island across from arrivals. No problem except that I'm waiting an eternity for the traffic light to change to green so that I can cross the 20 feet to the center island. Heavy traffic, with police everywhere, so no jay walking with luggage, and I don't want to end up as road kill! Uber has a policy of only waiting 2 minutes maximum for a customer, before leaving and billing the client $5. Light turns green, and I'm across the street, and flying down the 100 yard center island, with two pieces of luggage in tow, past stations 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8. Not up to NFL 0-40 standards, but not shabby for a 64 year old obese geezer! In the middle of the run, my cell phone rings with the driver confirming that I'm the crazy dude running like mad toward him, abandoning the wife in the dust. Older Indian dude helps us with the luggage in a Prius V, with the front seat filled with a solo passenger in his 20s. Another Uber-pool ride, in a spanking clean vehicle. We have to drive up 280 north, let the front passenger off at Lawrence Expressway, who leaves no tip, get back onto 280, and head north on Sunnyvale Saratoga Road. One disadvantage of Uber-pool is that the driver can pick up passengers along the way, even if it requires two left turns, which it did in our case, adding more time and potential discomfort -3 passengers in the back, and 1 passenger in the front after picking up 2 people in Sunnyvale blocks from my house. Tight squeeze in a Prius V with 3 people in the back, and of course yours truly stuck in the center! This time the Uber Pool ride from the airport to my house costs $13.46. I tip the aging Indian driver $5 for the trouble of driving in the rain. I would have been better off taking Uber-X with all the delays. Not many drivers on a rainy day, so the demand is up. And just try taking Uber at 1:30am in the morning, like Dennis T, where there is a scarcity of Uber drivers, when the rate can triple to match that of taxis' $3 per mile. New Year's Day we needed a ride to and from the Stadium for the 49er Vs Seattle game. Very busy weekend for Uber and surprisingly our 1st driver "Ceasar" pick us up within minutes of being ping. The fare from the Biltmore hotel to the Stadium ran us only $9 in a SUV. After the game was over, (of course the Seahawk won) we ping Uber to pick us up. Our driver immediately called us (less than a minute) and let us know he was parked behind Carl's Jr. on "Calle De Luna." "Hans" was our driver and was super friendly. When we arrived to the hotel, we hoop out of his Prius and let him get back to making money. While checking into the hotel, I immediately realized I had left my Burberry Sunglasses in the back seat. I called Hans on the number that he had contacts me at,however it was an automated number for Uber drivers? After doing some research on the internet I found out that you could report a lost item on the Uber app! Wow! I reported the time and description of the glasses and what ya know.... several hours later Hans dropped my sun glasses off at front desk. What a relief when the front desk called and informed me that they had my Locs. With such a busy day, I'm in utter disbelief that he was able to retrieve my possession and return it to me. Uber rides and delivery services is a rip off. The Uber One membership offers no real discounts, savings or overall advantages to being a member. The people they allow to drive for them are thieves that steal orders, items that were left behind don't follow instructions and often put riders in dangerous situations because they don't feel like driving to where they were requested, or cancel when they find out the destination because 30 minutes it too far. How does the better business beauru not shut this operation down? Is it a scam? Most recent example, I ordered groceries most items had advertised promos that were advertised by Uber One not by the store. Those promos and discounts never made it to me, as far as I know the delivery driver kept my promo items. Or this one time I ordered Chinese food and everything had been opened and eaten out of. I started using uber like a year back in San Francisco cause it is so hard to drive around in the city and uber gets you around for A decent rate. I stared using it here in San Jose so I don't have to look for A designated driver when I'm out drinking.
