I had my worst experience yesterday. The driver who didn't speak English picked me up, then exited the freeway after a mile into an unfamiliar neighborhood and told me to exit his car. He dropped me off in the middle of a side street about 6 miles from my house. I'm 70 yo and disabled. Uber help didn't step in to help me.. I have been a regular Uber customer for two years and have been quite happy with the service. Prompt, efficient, inexpensive, yet mostly very professional. Not sure what was broken, but changes in Uber have me closing my account and not looking back. The price for a ride now, is set by an algorithm that looks at how many riders are asking for service in a given area, and how many drivers are logged in and ready to provide it. If there are more riders than drivers available Uber changes the price by a multiple of 2 through 25 or more, which made a $10 trip I took a few days ago, jump to about $40. Since that experience I have regularly asked for service e at different times of the day, and every time a $10 trip is offered, and then right after I accept, the price goes up at least that high. Apparently, the drivers are declining to provide service until someone agrees to the surge price. So what was once a balanced dynamic marketplace is apparently underserved, and I would bet rides are down but fares are up. When Uber comes back, I might be available. read more

Never using Uber again. After checking my account the next day, they charged me 2x for 1 ride!! $176 on 1 transaction then another for $157!!!! The 176$ charge Isn't even showing up on Uber cause this is how the steal and scam from you!! I've reached out multiple times and All the reps says to ask family members if they used your account... they don't help, they just want your mone,y that they already took without your consent or knowledge. I am not sure what happened recently, but we have tried Numerous times to get a ride with Uber and no one is available in our area of Ventura county. I continue to get marketing ads sent home, but I am not able to get a ride regardless of the marketing and outreach. May need to spend more time getting additional drivers before marketing to get more riders. read more

Do not use Uber anymore! My poor mom spent $14 to get to downtown which is fine and then her only ride home is $52. She gets a confirmation and then it gets canceled and then the next price comes along triple. The drivers only want the easy money. Something went terribly wrong with Uber. read more

With all the problems we've had with Uber not responding, no drivers available or cancelling after I was told the driver was on the way, really sucks! We had an Uber driver continue to complain our 5 mile trip wasn't worth his time. The 5 mile trip cost us $44.00 and I tipped him $10.00 If that isn't enough for a few minutes no traffic drive time, stop doing it! Taxi companies will be making a big shift there way with this horrible service Uber is providing. We need to have a service we can count on and not be stranded. I've only used Uber once , but we had a terrific driver who picked us up within 5 or 10 minutes at Discovery, (pardon the memory lapse, I'd had a few Rum & Cokes) and the driver was so personable & helpful as we had no idea where we were going to get a late night meal that wasn't fast food. We didn't go far , we ended up at Fresh & Easy , as I was about to be treated to a fabulous home cooked dinner at home, and it was fab-u-lous! Our driver told us to page him & he'd come back, and he didn't let us down, he was back within minutes of being paged and we were on our way. It was a most excellent adventure & I wouldn't hesitate to use UBER again. read more

Warning to UBER drivers I did not get paid last week due to a malfunction of uber's pay. I have 6 overdraws on my checking account. There is no human help. I still haven't received my money. They will post false surges to spread out uber drivers. Long runs with possible long drive pay is a costly thing to do. 17 miles to fare a 3 mile ride paid me $0.22 cents. I used a gallon or more in gas due to no ride back. My lose on the trip was $1.74. Never take a trip over 12 minutes. Uber keeps promoting high pay for part time and full time work. Most of southern California is saturated by too many Lyft's and ubers. May weekly pay has dropped $300 a week because of no rides. Uber takes 40% off the top. You pay for gas and you need extra insurance from a company that will cover ride share. $150 a month. uber dose not care if you are in an accident. won't fix your car and you can't afford the deductible. THAT'S 40 % off gross GAS 35 % of your gross Working 3 days a week I do 1,000 miles on my car per week. oil change every month or 5 weeks. when I work it's 12 hours without a break to pay my expenses. I average $8.00 per hours, down from $12 dollars an hour 3 months ago and that is down from $16.00 an hour when I started in January. Just too many drivers to make money now. I'm starting another part time job. If gas gets over $4.00 a gallon at it's cheapest stations, I can't make enough money to keep killing myself. read more

I "tried" to use Uber for the first time yesterday. To say that I am underwhelmed would be a compliment to Uber. I had taken my car in for repair at 8:00 AM, and then at 8:10 I tried to call Uber to take me home (6 miles). The app at first said that I had to wait 8 minutes for my ride. Then it went to 4 (I was very happy at this point). But a minute later it went to 11. Then 8. Then 4. Then 11 again, etc., etc., etc. According to the display, 3 uber cars passed right by me. The display showed several Uber vehicles operating in the area. After 40 minutes of watching the estimated pickup time go back and forth, I removed the Uber app from my phone, and called my wife to pick me up. As far as I can tell, this is a completely useless (non)service. read more

From the rating it's obvious it isn't recommended to use Uber Eats. My family member works for Uber as a side job and can confirm what I'm about to post. The delivery people now has the ability to see the 'entire' order on their app when they are taking a food delivery order. However, they NEVER check the order and maybe 1 out of 5 times the order will be correct. Normally it is missing one or more items, or the drinks are not included (this problem is actually normal). When you contact support you NEVER get the satisfaction of a resolution. It's a very simplistic choice menu which doesn't usually cover the problem and then they just refund what was paid for the item. Not the exorbitant delivery fee, processing fee, etc. So you are left with needing to go out to purchase dinner for family members again but spent a fortune on basically nothing. I'd recommend avoiding Uber and only using one of the other delivery organizations. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. Scheduled a pick up this morning, and the ETA was in 20-25 min. No big deal. The driver arrived early and Uber failed to notify me, maintaining that she was 1 min. away. By the time I came out (which was still well before the ETA) she was driving away! No reflection on her, who knows how long she was outside and "1 min. away" Iwas charged a cancellation fee which I contested, and Uber gave me my money in "ride credit" which didn't even appear in my payment methods. So I lost the money I spent on NO RIDE and ended up super late anyway. I recommend the bus. read more

Great end to my vacation! Used Uber for The first time by downloading app while on shuttle back from airport. Very user-friendly app user-friendly app which is very helpful I'm not very technically savvy. Getting back to the drop off area I didn't even have a two minute wait before my Uber driver Michelle showed up. So prompt I love it no waiting. Upon entering the Uber I was greeted by a big smile and very friendly Michelle. Her customer service skills are on point. Before I knew it I was home safely thank you Uber and Michelle from Santa Paula for making a great end to my vacation I will never call a cab again and deal with messy car is dirty drivers and overpriced rates. Michelle's car was very clean her personal appearance was very clean and the rates of the drive where spectacular. Thank you Uber and Michelle!!!! read more

The worst app for older people I tried to get my daughter a ride and I typed the wrong address in but then couldn't add the correct address had to cancel which I hear messes up the driver and he doesn't get paid and no one to talk too get it straightened out very poor app read more

Took an uber to LA. Wasn't a hassle. It wasn't awkward like it would've been with a regular taxi.

I wanted to use Uber to get from Thousand Oaks to LAX, but the "pre" book doesn't work. If your computer program doesn't work AND there is no contact for your IT to fix it, You become useless to me I erased the APP, Sad, I guess they don't want my money read more

This is the second time I've ordered an Uber driver. No problem with the actual people picking up, my problem is with the company Uber! Every time I've had bogus charges added after I've paid with no recourse to contact and get these charges disputed/removed. Yesterday, I had a pick up, nice driver, tipped him way over the 20% suggested. He arrived 20 minutes early, I told the driver he was early, he said he just got the call and came over. I ordered the pickup 2 days ahead with a specific time to be picked up. I was almost ready, took a few minutes to put my dogs in the house, gather my things and get in the car. After tipping on the App, as they suggest, I got an additional "wait time" charge!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME, THE GUY WAS EARLY, I moved quickly to get in the car. Same thing happened last time. I'm beginning to think Uber does this to make more money! I will check into Lyft next time............. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had. I would give them zero stars if I could. It was New Year's Eve and I was not notified of the surge charge prior to pick up. A ride that was meant to be $24 ended up being almost $200 just because it was New Year's Eve. If I was notified of this charge I definitely would not have booked the pick up. I have tried contacting uber and they are not willing to help us. It has been a horrible experience and not only will I never use them again, but I will tell my family and friends to not use them either. read more

@Uber is TRASH. My kids are in New York and one left her purse in the car and contacted this driver within 1 min of getting off the car and he charged her $20 IN CASH!! This damn CON MAN made my son pay him in cash or he wouldn't give him the girl's purse! Uber policy says $15 for lost/left behind items which is still a damn CON in my book!
