Terrible experience at uBreakFix. Last Friday, I was referred to this store by Samsung to fix a minor cosmetic issue with my fold phone's inner screen. It had a bubble on the fold screen, but the phone was still fully functional. I thought they would use some technique to smooth out the bubble. Instead, they told me I needed to pay $76 to replace the screen protector. I was hesitant at first, but the service rep was polite and convinced me it would be worth it, so I agreed. Two hours later, just before the store closed, I picked up my phone. The service rep turned off my phone and reassembled the outer case for me, which seemed fine at the time. But now I realize why he might have done that. When I got home and opened the inner screen (the outer screen was working normally), I noticed the inner screen was damaged. The touch functionality wasn't working, and there was a black spot along the center fold. The inner screen was no longer functioning properly. I called the store right away but got no response because they had closed. The next day, I returned to explain your store was supposed to fix my phone, but instead, it seems like you made it worse and damaged the inner screen. The service rep then suggested replacing the inner screen protector again, but I explained that the damage they caused wouldn't be fixed by just changing the protector. He agreed and said he would contact the manager, who would call me by Saturday or Monday. However, I never received any call from them. Frustrated, I went back to the store again. The service rep then told me I would need to replace the entire inner screen for about $600, but he would still need to talk to the manager about something--though I wasn't sure what. 2 days later, the replacement part had already arrived, but they hadn't even bothered to call me. I had to call them to find out When I arrived to get the screen replaced, they told me I had to pay the full $600+ cost, and despite confirming several times, they insisted they weren't responsible for the damage to the screen. I asked, "So my screen was working fine before, and now I have to pay over $700 to fix a problem you caused?" The service rep just smiled and said the manager would contact me the next day, but repeated that they were not responsible for the damage. The whole experience was awful. Buy a new device so you don't have to deal with these liars. The Timonium franchise of this chain had my wife's device (broken screen on a MS Surface tablet) for 8+ weeks. Note that the first 5 of these weeks was before the COVID shutdown, so that's not a viable excuse for the fact that they never repaired it. I called them 4 times for status and was told the same lie each time, including "I'll call you back". Each time I reminded them of the previous unkept promise to call me back. On the final call, the guy who seems to run the place told me "I'll stay late and fix it myself then call you." No call. No fix. See attached photo for what I picked back up from them. read more

Let me tell you that i thought it was impossible, but it got worse. They won't repair the fracture they added to my iphone. Sam Barnes (corporate?) emailed me about a month or so after i posted my horrible experience here. He offered to let me go back to an UNSAFE location that screwed up my repair for free. Whoopee! I told him I couldn't set foot in that store (that was not just unsafe but poorly managed) and he offered me a chance to go to a store an hour away or send in my phone. (and is there a guarantee that the hour away store wears masks or is competent?) Thanks for nothing, Sam. I asked for a refund since they left me with a screen with a new and growing hairline fracture. I just want my money back so i can go somewhere that can actually FIX a screen. Nope. They wouldn't. I would pay twice the amount if apple would do it bec this location is the worst ever (and I have had family phone screens repaired twice in past few years). They don't stand behind their work (in a reasonable way for the average person who doesn't want to mail a phone away for who knows how long) So Sam. Either send me a refund. This is crazy! I didn't think the other reviews were telling the truth but they actually have all the bad reviews taken down instead of fixing problems. There were over 50 1-star reviews on this store (including my own) that have now been wiped. This store WILL NOT repair your phone unless they absolutely feel like it. Went in 4 different occasions and each time they lied to my face and gave my the runaround just for a pixel screen repair. Each time I went in they came up with another excuse for why they couldn't repair it that day. Make no mistake they absolutely don't care about you or your business. And shame on Yelp for allowing this company to keep deleting bad reviews and starting over! read more

I broke the charger head off in my phone. I went to 3 different stores to get it fixed, so that I could still use my phone. None of them could do it the same day and it was going to cost me. I came to UbreakIfix on Fruitville Pike in Lancaster PA. They took it to the back room and walked out in less than a minute and had the charger head out. I was so thankful for their assistance and professionalism. They were very kind and helpful. If you need any work done on your phone or computer, this is the first place I would come. I am not a frequent Yelper (shame on me), but I think it speaks volumes when I do say something. Tonight I stopped by in a bit of an emergency and was granted incredible and timely service. As a traveling photographer and videographer, my gear is my livelihood and when my iPad suddenly needed repair 12 hours prior to a trip, I figured I was doomed. I stopped by on a whim and was greeted by a nice young man who was eager to look and see if my charging port was a quick fix. Within minutes he had my tablet charging and wished me well on my trip. I was 100% undercharged for his efforts and appreciate his willingness to not just dismiss me but do the best he could for a first time customer. Thank you for saving me and my work! read more

This review is just about lack of customer service skills and any form on consideration, and it would be a 0 solely because of one employee. You'll know when you meet him. I'm sure he's knowledgeable and capable (not that he fixed my phone, but he doesn't greet and simply seems annoyed for being there). And the cherry on top was he said when I dropped off my phone, the Wednesday before thanksgiving around 12ish, that he'd call to let me know when it was ready. I received no call and came an hour before they were supposed to close, and were closed already. I then came in on Sunday (today 11/28/21) and he said he called to let me know that my phone couldn't be fixed on Wednesday (I have no missed calls). I asked when and he dismissively said he didn't remember when he called. I then called him out for closing early and he dismissively said "oh I apologize for that." Long story short, customer service skills are seriously lacking and it was a very disappointing experience. read more

I came here after Googling the place, looking for a place to repair my phone due to a cracked screen. Fortunately, I came about an hour after opening and there was no line or customers waiting in front of me. The person I worked with was cordial, helpful and seemed willing to genuinely help. He told me it would be an estianted two hour wait to include factory testing. After coming back to retrieve the phone, the phone was not ready due to an issue with the first screen they tried installing. They told me to wait an extra 15 minutes, no problem. Another customer comes in asking for his phone and another representative basically tells him the same thing that he needs to wait another 15 minutes due to an error in the first screen they tried installing. I wasn't sure what phone thst customer had, but a couple things ran through my head. 1. If that's 2/2 phones with errors on the first try, maybe they should relook at the wntire batch of replacements. 2. What are the chances both are initial replacement screens didn't work? 3. Why does 15 minutes actually take 30 minutes? Overall, it was a good experience becauae my phone works like new and got its battery replaced. But I would caution that waiting more than 2 hours is realistic regardless of the time slot they give you. The pricing was $229 sans tax for my Samsung Galaxy S8+ replacement screen and service. if that assists with any future service endeavors. read more

Don't use this store unless you have time and money to waste and don't care about your phone. I needed to revisit the store three separate times before my iPhone 12 screen was replaced appropriately. Each of my three visuals took over 2 hours. I waisted over 6 hours and over $250. At first they said the FaceID on the phone was not working. However, it was the store that caused the issues because they did not know how to officially collaborate the screen. What's even worse, they said the screen was replaced the first time with an official apple screen. They lied, it was not an official apple screen. They lied, waisted my time, damaged my phone, and took my money. read more

I can't get anyone at the store to tell me if the screen used to repairs my Iphone is the same material as what was on it originally. I also was hung up on when I asked for a manager. Not sure if that was an accident but I called back and the clerk refused to answer my call. I wasn't rude. Verizon told me the store could give me the specific information about the screen used but the person at the desk told me that Asurian sends the screen in an unmarked bag. Then she backtracked and send there were identifying numbers on it. I've had two problems with my phone since I got it back. I'm a very unsatisfied customer at this point. There's no email and she won't answer my calls so here I am with no recourse but to go online and write a review. Brought in my samsung galaxy phone for a screen replacement. I came in at 1:00 and was told to come back at 4:30. I came at 5:00 and they still weren't done fixing my phone until 6:00! The worst part was the customer service. They kept telling me a few more minutes. I would have preferred they just let me know it would be awhile and they I could have picked up the phone another day. I was late picking up my kids and I kept wanting to leave the store and then they'd say it was almost done again. They should have been upfront. It didn't help that I could hear employees talking the whole time in the back, it made me think fixing the phone would have gone a lot faster without all the goofing around. I would only use them again if I was prepared to drop off a phone for repair and pick it up days later, with a scheduled appointment. *My experience happened back in Aug. 2020. I wrote this under a different location. I have since deleted it from that location and am posting it here* I took my laptop to the Cockeysville, Maryland location for repair. The bottom of my laptop cracked and I needed to have it fixed; it got worse the more I open and closed it. I currently work from home as a lot of us do due to Covid-19. While the base and frame of my laptop was not in good shape, the rest of the laptop worked just fine. I had no issues with the speed of which my laptop moved nor did I have internet connectivity issues.    I took my laptop to the Cockeysville location for them to look at and give me an estimate. I was sent an email when I left the location that would give me updates of their progress. A few days went by and I didn't hear anything. I just so happen to check the timeline email and it said that progress was on hold and they were waiting for a call back. They never called or emailed me for an update in the first place. Had I not gone to that email, they wouldn't have contacted me to tell me about my laptop. I called them and they told me how much it would cost to repair the laptop and how long it would take. Eventually, I decided to get my laptop and not have the repairs done. I went back to the Cockeysville location and got my laptop. I was given two receipts, one with the estimate and one with no price showing I didn't need to pay anything. I get home to use the laptop, and it doesn't work. This happened on a Saturday. I called them to complain and was told I could bring it back on Monday for them to fix. They did not connect the wires back properly; the laptop would come on but not the monitor. Why would they give me back my laptop in a non-working condition? I did not give them my laptop that way so I was very upset that they gave back to me that way.    I returned the next Monday and they "re-connected" the wires and my monitor now came on. Once home, I went to do work on my laptop and there was no connection to my wi-fi. I worked to get it all reconnected but the diagnostic testing I ran on my computer said the router was the issue, which wasn't true since all my other appliances were working fine with the wi-fi. I called back to speak with the manager about the wi-fi not being able to work since getting my laptop back from them. I didn't get his name, but he told me the reason why it is not working is because closing and opening the laptop will keep disconnecting the wires. At no point in me bringing my laptop to them, did anyone tell me what issues or potential issues I would have with my laptop. The explanation also doesn't make any sense. I opened and closed my laptop regularly before I gave it to them and my wi-fi worked fine. It wasn't until I got my laptop back from them that I am having connectivity issues with wi-fi in my own home.      I don't understand why my laptop worked less than it did before getting it "fixed" or "diagnosed" by UBreakIFix. The only thing the manager could say to me was he was sorry that the issues with my laptop were not communicated to me. I now have a laptop that was fine before I went to have it looked at and its now in worse condition. The manager made no offer to fix what his employees botched nor did he offer any other solutions. I never reach out to issue complaints regarding service; I simply never return or spend my money at that place of business. But given the cost of the item that needed repair, and the fact I'll  likely have to pay more to have to the original problem fixed, plus whatever the Cockeysville location did to it, I felt like I had to contact someone about these issues (Additional note: after getting the laoptop looked at by someone else, it turns out UBreakIFix also "forgot" to put back in three screws). Not only do I work from home, but I am also a student and I am trying to start my own business online so I need my laptop in working condition. This was my first experience with this company and it will be my last. As it stands, I do not have a solution to my laptop issues at this time but I do know I'll have to get it fixed and it's going to cost more. The wi-fi works off and on in only one part of my home, far away from where I do my work in my home. read more

UPDATED: This company had my computer for 5 weeks and did not communicate with me about the process unless I' called in. My computer was supposed to be done at week 4 when they revealed they did not perform the prep and diagnostic properly and had to order additional parts. I understand USPS has had some problems with delivery and I was okay waiting for the few weeks but now to wait additional time because they did not do their prep and diagnostics properly is inexcusable. Then when the repair was finally done (week 5) and I came to get it, when I went to make sure everything was working, my touchpad mouse was not working and it was revealed the technician forgot to reattach it so I had to leave my laptop for additional two weeks. Received my laptop again and now the charging port does not work and have to return it again. So now we are at 8 weeks for what was supposed to be a simple hinge repair but has had to be returned for additional repairs because of their service. This has been a horrible experience and a waste of 250 dollars with no offer of discount or refund. read more

Dropped my Note 8 on a gravel parking lot and busted the screen. Filed claim with Asurion and was told to take it to UbreakiFix (Timonium). Was told it would be 2-2-1/2 hrs. Had to wait in car due to COVID. Went in and checked after 2 hrs and was told another 10-15 min as they were in the process of TESTING the phone. Went back to car and the girl brought it out to me in less than 10 min. Went home and found that the entire left side of phone was non responsive to the S-pen, and if I used my finger the next letter was entered unless I pressed and held the letter (i.e. A, S was what showed up). Called them and was told to bring it back tomorrow which I did. Again another 2-2-1/2 wait time. Went back to car (directly in front of the glass doors). 2 hrs later I went back inside to check and the girl (different than Monday) told me because I used Asurion insurance I would have to file another claim for them to look at it again. I waited 2 hrs in 90 degree weather and she couldn't be bothered to come out and tell me. She went in the back to get me phone and I waited again (~5 min) before I yelled "Just give me my phone so I could leave. I've wasted enough time for nothing". Waited a couple of more minutes before she came out with my phone. CHECK YOUR PHONE BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! Better yet call Asurion and they will overnight a new phone and you can avoid this place all together. read more
