The employee told me they were backed up and wouldn't be able to diagnose it this week unless I signed up for their membership, which would move me to the front of the line. I told him I wasn't interested in a membership. He then said it would cost $165 for a diagnosis. I pointed out that their website states diagnostics are free, but he ignored my question and continued trying to sell me their $39/month membership. After I declined again, he explained that the $165 diagnostic fee would be applied toward the repair. I asked what would happen if the repair only cost $50--would I receive the remaining balance back? He said no. He then suggested that if I signed up for the membership and kept it for a minimum of two months, I would receive a discount on the diagnostic fee. At that point, something didn't feel right, so I decided to leave without having them service my console. I then took the same Xbox to the uBreakiFix on Harbor Boulevard. The employee there told me they would inspect the system, call me with an estimate if repairs were needed, and that there would be no charge unless I approved the repair. I'm posting this review for my 84 year old mother who is not very tech savvy at all. My mom thought her entire screen was cracked. She called and priced the new screen...she was prepared for to pay for a new screen but when she took it in apparently she has only cracked her screen protector...the gentleman at the store was so kind and replaced her screen protector. I usually don't have problems with services or speak about bad ones but this is a must. .I called to get an estimate for my iPad screen was quoted $180 arrived and now my Apple iPad screen OM $320. Then came back a week later after repaired because I had a dead pixel running from top-bottom. Showed the tech and he says I must have dropped it and looks at the corner of my iPad and sees the frame has a nic granted it's 6 years old and believes its from that. I said no way pixels don't do out like that. Came back after summer with a guy friend to have another set of eyes on the situation. Ya he did the same shenanigans. We needed a battery installed in our laptop and left it. Then when I called he told me he does not have a battery for it. Then I went to pick it up and was told that he did find a battery and the job was done. Then he gave me the wrong computer. It was older and beat up. Then he found my computer and gave me the wrong charger. Then he found my charger. Then after a week, the computer would not start or run without being plugged in. He must have installed an old battery. I found I could buy the battery at Amazon for $27. So I it then replaced it at Best Buy. Either this guy is a crook or incompetent. Did not help at all. The associate who told me his name is Sam (I asked for his name before I left the store) refused to honor Samsung's free screen protector replacement promotion, which allows you to have one free replacement of the screen protector on a new Galaxy Z Fold5 bought directly from Samsung within a year of the purchase/activation date (the promo is SEPARATE from the warranty; just Google "Screen Protector Replacement for Samsung Galaxy Z Series" for the promo details). He acknowledged my screen protector had scratches on it yet refused to replace the screen protector saying it would ruin the screen. How does that even make sense? Sam was also not very professional since I had to wait about 3 minutes at the counter before he emerged from the back and asked what I needed in an unfriendly manner. Then he immediately started caressing my phone slowly and thoroughly. I felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave because he didn't say anything at all while doing that, and it was such an awkward "customer service" experience. He also came across as aloof and unhelpful, as if I was burdening him with my presence. His people skills are severely lacking. He didn't even explain what he was doing, from when he was fondling my phone to typing on the computer to disappearing to the back of the store for a minute after asking me what color my phone was and not waiting for me to give a definitive answer. Lastly (and perhaps ironically), the two TVs behind the counter were not working properly. The screen was mostly black except for an outline of a small red rectangle with words in the center indicating that that TVs were incorrectly set up. If the team can't be bothered to fix their own TVs, why should they be trusted with personal devices? Would not recommend this store. read more

Got my iPhone fixed on a Sunday!!! It was super quick and it saved me from having to buy a new phone.

Scammers and Thieves. Had two $600 phones to be repaired. Was told first phone would be $140 with discounts and second phone was still under warranty so repair was free. They charged $200 to get first phone back. Then, after another two more weeks we were told, "OOPS!" Turns out second phone was not covered by warranty but they already did the repair so that would cost another $200 to get back. Not going to give them any more of our hard earned money. So, basically, they stole the phone. Pay the ransom or they keep it. ALSO - Guy acts like he is English-challenged but I believe he's purposely being hard to understand so when they bait and switch later, can act like they were telling you the truth all along. read more

Took my phone to get the front screen and battery replaced, handed it to the guy he checked it he said everything was good everything worked got it back in 2 hours all of a sudden the camera stopped working the guy that fixed it proceeded to tell me the camera didn't work when I brought it in and making up a bunch of lies and I showed him I have took photos prior to it getting it fixed and then he changed his response to that they don't touch the cameras and a bunch of lies and then he said " you have insurance just file another claim " even on the iPhone settings it's saying they have changed the camera to a unknown camera part. Had an EXCELLENT experience with this location. Great communication and customer service. They helped me with a warranty repair on my Samsung S25 Ultra. That being said, dealing with Samsung to get them to approve the fix was a nightmare. This location is about 1 hour away from where I live, however, I will make the drive out to uBreakiFix Costa Mesa whenever I have an issue with my phone because of my experience. read more

Got my phone fixed here but what I did not like was that after I received my phone they scheduled me for a diagnostics /cleaning appointment WITHOUT telling me!.. If you had my phone for 3 days why didnt you just clean it there!?? Asurion should investigate this! Don't know if they be charging the company for falsely doing this (although for clients its free included in your phone insurance) but if you get your phone fixed here and have Asurion, go back online to you asurion claims account or emails to cancel services that were not scheduled by you.. Also they take forever to answer your call and then say they dont have your info to call for a follow up which is just nonsense. read more

I brought my daughter's Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 phone to this store for repair due to the common screen flickering issue. The phone is still under warranty. The first question the technician asked me was, "Do you have insurance?"--which immediately raised concerns. I explained that the screen flicker is a known manufacturing issue and that my phone is fully covered under warranty. He then claimed there might be damage to the screen. I told him there was none. He said he would check with Samsung, and it would take 10-15 minutes to confirm if the repair would be covered. Heard him talking foreign language over the phone for like 10 mins , Just a few minutes later, he returned and said it wouldn't be covered. Frankly, I expected that response the moment he asked about insurance. If your Samsung device is under warranty, I strongly advise sending it directly to Samsung by mail for service. I went in for a free repair thru my ATT insurance on Friday Dec 27 at 1030am. My lcd touch screen wasn't working and I had to get it replaced. Super weird experience When I pick up my phone an hr and a half later, the guy who repaired my phone scans a QR code on the front counter with my phone and begins to set up a device diagnostic appointment and cleaning appointment without my knowledge or authorization. He was inputting my information in order to schedule these appointments. After he successfully signed me up for a device diagnostic appointment without my knowledge, I caught the guy while he was setting up the cleaning appointment. I asked him why are you doing this, and he aggressively argues with me saying I will owe Asurion money for my free repair if I do not sign up for these appointments. Which is a lie. And proceeded to tell me to just sign up for the appointments and not show up. I said that's not true and walked away with my phone. This person should be fired and not be trusted with the privacy of their phones. I felt personally taken advantage of and had my privacy completely invaded. I am obviously not the first person this has happened to. I don't write yelp reviews but this is gross behavior by this person. This person should not be trusted with a private phone. read more

I came in to get my tablet repaired and the glass was thicker than it was before and still did not work (the battery was also supposed to be changed) anything apple related I would just send it back to apple to have it repaired. I went to UBreakiFix in Costa Mesa since I was having issues with my Galaxy Flip (the inner screen was totally black even though the small exterior screen works- this is a very common issue and has even occurred with brand new Flips). Poyan was extremely combative and kept trying to blame me for the screen instead of trying to come up with solutions. He didn't listen and kept trying to blame us. Customers don't like being attacked. I immediately went to another cell phone repair shop and they were incredibly helpful; they were willing to call Samsung too. Fast forward to the next day i have received no call so i called them again, guy said wii was ready to pick up, i asked how much at pickup and he said $125-$150 and i said okay. My Galaxy Flip Z 5 had a common inner screen issue (black parts, flickering, unresponsive to touch), so I contacted Samsung customer service. A rep walked me through their website step by step, making a claim and appointment to repair the screen at this store. I received a confirmation both from Samsung and uBreakiFix, so I felt at ease. Upon arriving the store, Poyan asked me "Do you have an insurance?" I told him that I don't, but the Samsung is having a promotion for fixing this inner screen issue for the reduced fee of $200. He checked his computer and said that he sees that I made an appointment, but he didn't receive a claim from Samsung, so he can't repair my phone. Since my phone was unusable, I borrowed a store phone and called Samsung's customer service. The Samsung rep was trying to explain to Poyan over and over that this is a Samsung promotion and the phone should be repaired for $200. Poyan kept saying that he sees that I made an appointment, but he didn't receive a claim from Samsung, so there was nothing he could do. I wasted my time here. I read other reviewers having the same issue with the Flip Z phone and with the store rep denying the repair service under the Samsung promotion. As others suggested, I am shipping the phone directly to Samsung to avoid wasting more time with this business. read more

If they hire someone new they should make sure they are up to speed on the computer before leaving them alone. It took over 15 minutes when I dropped off my phone. It took the guy 20 minutes to figure out how to print what I need to sign when I came back to pick up my phone. He even stopped helping me to help another customer. He had an AirPod in and 3 silver bracelets on, I didn't catch his name. I will not be back to this location. I'll drive even further if I have to in order to avoid incompetent employees. And on top on it, they said they would call the alternate number on file to let me know it was ready, he did not. And I was waiting 5 hours to know if my phone was ready. I called and the guy was like "I texted you". He didn't and I thought maybe he was dumb enough to text my phone THAT I DROPPED OFF, no, he didn't. He's just incompetent. read more
