If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at this uBreakiFix location was a complete disaster from start to finish. The staff member who "helped" me (pictured here) was rude, dismissive, and arrogant from the moment I walked in. He acted like answering basic questions about my repair was a burden, rolled his eyes when I asked for details, and clearly had no deep knowledge of hardware repair. Their diagnostics were inconsistent and suspicious. When I dropped off my device, they said there was no water damage. Later, after they failed to fix it, they suddenly claimed there was water damage -- contradicting their own report. This is a common scam tactic to avoid taking responsibility for failed repairs. To make matters worse, they use cheap, non-OEM parts that aren't fully compatible with your device. After their so-called "repair," my MacBook had issues it never had before like poor touch response on the trackpad and keyboard keys being loose. When I pointed this out, the employee blamed me instead of acknowledging the poor workmanship. This place fails in every way that matters -- no professionalism, no accountability, no quality parts, and no real expertise. If you value your time, money, and devices, go to a reputable repair shop or an authorized service center. uBreakiFix in Oak Lawn is the last place you should trust. read more

Man if I could give this place 100 stars I would for the last 2 weeks or so my iPhone 16 pro max the charger would constantly fall out while it was charging, I don't mess with charging ports stopped even charging like the plug just wouldn't go in at all I stop at Att and call Asurion before it dies. Att tells me get compressed air so I'm on way to staples on 97 Cicero and see this godsend of a store and I'm still on hold with asurion in case it needs a repair Att works with them. I'm like fugggggg it go in ask if he's got a charger to show him (wish I got his name he's literally my hero) shined a light and took it in back told me I had some compacted pocket lint in port fixed it up and gave him way more than his ask price. Understand nobody works for free I deliver pizzas and need my phone thank you to the nameless gentleman who got me back on the road delivering. Do not bring your device here. I brought my ipad here three months ago for a cracked screen and now I can no longer use it. This location rendered the ipad unusable. In the process of replacing the screen they broke the fingerprint TouchID and now the device will not charge. I paid them over $200 and now I have a bricked ipad. I contacted their corporate service desk and at first they were seemingly helpful but now they will not return my calls or answer my emails. They have my money and I have a worthless ipad because of their "services". read more

I had my daughter's Nintendo Switch Lite control stick repaired back in January 2024. Recently, the control stick just fell right off of the system. I checked on the website and it said that they had a 1 year warranty for work done except for water damage. I brought the device back in to have it fixed, but they did not honor the warranty. They stated that this was physical damage and that the warranty did not cover it. Apparently, they have some fine text that allows for "exclusions" that gives them the ability to exclude essentially whatever they want, which makes the warranty useless. They wanted me to pay for another repair, which I would not do as two repairs would cost the same as a new system. I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of the repair and the lack of empathy or care for the situation. The staff person also sarcastically told me to "Have a nice day" as my back was turned and I opened the door to leave the store, which was not appreciated as I had not treated him rudely despite my displeasure with the situation. I will not be returning to this store for any future repairs and will be advising family and friends to avoid it as well, which is a shame as I had better experiences in the past. read more

I don't know what happened with other reviews but I have been going here for years and never had a problem. Got an iPhone screen repaired in less than 24 hours, it lasted another 5 years after that. I recently needed a power flush on a laptop (probably a 5 minutes job) but didn't have the right tool to take the casing off this kid of laptop. I figured I was gonna be charged a lot for it, but they didn't charge me a crazy amount at all. They called me and even did some tests on the HDMI port which seemed to be the culprit. I called the afternoon before my visit to confirm parts were in stock (meaning they don't have to be shipped from Asia or anywhere else.) They said yes, both front as well as the back glass were in stock & that they would set them aside for me. The next day, as soon as they opened the doors I came in to start my repair. They said they didn't have the back glass & that they would have to order it which means I completely wasted my time. I ended up spending the whole day going to different stores trying to get a backup phone since the only reason I even considered uBreakiFix was because they said they already had the parts. I could've ordered the parts & fixed the phone myself since uBreakiFix is charging almost triple what the back glass actually costs & almost double what the front glass & digitizer (touchscreen) actually costs. They also seem to be charging a $70 labor fee PER PART even though it's on the same device & you have to take the back glass off in-order to repair the front glass or any other part anyway! Do not go here. I dropped my phone off (Google Pixel 4 XL) on Monday August, 15 right when they opened. Front screen blank, back screen shattered. The first guy told me he can't replace one screen without the other, for some reason. Told me he didn't have the part and would have to order it, shipped in 1-2 days express. He told me he'd call, but since he had my broken phone, I told him to email me to which he took down my email address and confirmed. I didn't receive any notice so I decided to go back into the store on Thursday (3 days with no communication and without a phone). A different guy told me they just got the part and it will be done by 2pm and that he would call me when it was ready. Again, I told him not to call me as my phone is broken and in their possession and gave him my email address. I wasn't able to pick it up that day so I came in today (Friday August, 19th) and a 3RD guy comes out with my phone still shattered and explains that he put the new screen on and it still wouldn't work and said, and I quote "It must be the motherboard, or something like that. I tried to call you but I had to leave a voicemail" I TOLD THEM 2 TIMES ALREADY TO EMAIL ME. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO ANSWER MY BROKEN PHONE WHEN I DON'T EVEN HAVE IT. And then he said nothing further. Stunned, now not having a phone for 5 days while losing money as I work for myself, I asked what am I supposed to do now. He told me to call Google, and get this, to have them setup the request to TAKE IT BACK TO THEM TO FIX. He states "because we can fix motherboards here" No one tried to diagnose my phone. Once the new screen didn't work, they said "well, we don't know." I walked out of there 5 days later still without a phone, they didn't communicate with me once, and wanting me to call Google (without a phone lol) If you value your time, if you value competent business/employees, and if you value compassion and solutions to your issue, then DO NOT give this place your patronage. This was exceedingly inconvenient and costly for me in lost wages, not to mention a complete lack of knowledge of the products they claim to fix, and a total lack of communication. What a joke. I need my phone screen change. Was told the part had to be ordered. No call as to when they received the part. That should have been the first clue of terrible things to come. Was asked to pay a deposit after picking up my phone and I did so. Dropped phone off again and was told they could work on it same day. Called to find out if it had been fixed the next day and it has another issue they cannot fix. Waste of time and money I am really upset. I have a Samsung 10e phone. I have been unable to hear the other person speaking without putting them on speaker. Spoke to AT&T for an hour trying to resolve this issue. When finished with call, I was prepared to buy a new phone. I called this company, brought my phone in and within 5 minutes I was leaving out the door. Spoke to Andrea. She was very polite and professional. She explained that we often put our phone in our pocket or purse and it gathers lint. She told me that if this problem arises again, I can bring it back or use alcohol and a toothbrush and clean the area. If I could give this company 10 stars, that wouldn't be enough. I dropped the phone off for a screen repair only which was supposed to be ready the next day. I didn't get my phone until 3 or 4 days after they said it would be ready and they had to set the phone back to manufacturing settings in which lost all of my data. They didn't charge me for the fixed screen but I would have rather paid the $110 and not lose a lot of important information. Very disappointed and I felt like I had to keep calling them everyday with updates because they didn't keep me in the loop with what was going on otherwise. read more

Avoid. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but this is an exception. These guys did a relatively poor job of fixing my daughters phone, and it subsequently broke again. I went in, hoping they would at least cut me a break on their failed work, but all I got was a quote for 10% off, and notified that they messed up the charge from last time and the new charge for screen replacement was $70 higher. When I took the phone to a COMPETENT repair store in Oakbrook, they immediately recognized the prior screen replacement as subpar work and noted it was superglued back together. ***AVOID THIS LOCATION*** I purchased a groupon that I later realized was only for this location. So I drove 45 mins from the city to drop off my broken screen iPad. I was the first customer on Saturday morning. 7 hours later I get a call it's ready and I pick it up. I get home excited to use and it and find the iPad went haywire. Ghost clicking all the apps and was completely dysfunctional. Roberto (Robert) and his staff at this location are incompetent. Thankfully there's a warranty on all their repairs so I took it into the South Loop location where I received top notch customer service. Please see my 5 star review of this location. The tech at South Loop commented on how poor of a job was done. There's no wonder why this is the only location offering groupons. Waste of time. Good company. They "fixed" my PlayStation 4's hdmi port. I get it home. Purple screen. They said they'd have the solder tech take a look. I call when I'm off work, he's never in. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm out of 140 dollars and my system still doesn't work. Go somewhere else if you want you things fixed correctly. And don't let their reply to my Google comment fool you, they still haven't fixed it almost three months later. The solder tech only comes in on certain days and they tell you that they can't help outside of those days. I've been trying to get help for so long that my warranty is almost up. Dan was very professional and said yes, he had one left and would hold it for me. I purchased the yelp deal of $35 for $50.00 before I left the house. I was told that it could take up to Two hours and I recived a call stating that my phone was fixed in less than an Hour and a Half. What was supposed to be a battery replacement on a MacBook Pro in May has escalated to over $700 worth of damages that required Apple to repair. There was very poor communication on when parts would arrive and when I could expect my computer back. Louis the manager openly admitted that they damaged internal components and it needed to be sent to a third party for repair. After three tries to repair the damage that had nothing to do with the battery replacement, I would not give my computer back to an agency that had already done enough damage and clearly could not get the job done. Despite the fact that it was acknowledged how absurd the process was in regards to timing (my computer is finally operational in October) and how this was just supposed to be a simple battery swap, I have been told that I should not expect compensation for the repairs that happened at the hands of this agency and the third party agency. UBREAKIFIX? More like WEBREAKDONTFIXANDDONTPAY. DO NOT take your Apple products to this enterprise. read more

Took in laptop for damaged connection port and power button, fixed it. took in laptop 2nd time, was told if I didn't like the repairs and didn't want to pay upwards of $300, they would remove the parts and I would have not a charge. Guaranteed me the laptop could be fixed. Picked it up, no sound, couldn't find applications, function keys do not work. For another $300, I could have purchased a new one. Not happy. Back in August 2018 brought an iPad Air 2 in for a screen replacement. Comes with a 90 day warranty. Had to bring it back the next day because the home botton would not respond. They fixed that by resetting the screen again. Fast forward to late February 2019...the replacement screen takes a dump and starts ghosting uncontrollably. So I bring it back. They have to order another screen from Tennessee but order black instead of white. The right screen finally comes in and is replaced 10 days later. Then find the sleep button was never soldered. Bring it back again. Call the next day and was told maybe we can have it done by tomorrow. I say no get it done today. If I didn't sit there from 6 til past closing it may have not gotten worked on. Only one guy in the store, the manager, knows how to solder? Very little attention to detail here. I will not be bringing any business back here in the future. Find another repair shop. read more
