I sent my blue iPad to Asurion for repair and paid the $100 deductible, trusting I'd get my own device--or at least the same color--back. Instead, they shipped me a pink iPad and told me color "isn't guaranteed." When I asked to see where that's stated in their terms, they could only quote language about "equal or similar functionality," nothing about color. After an hour of chat: * Reps admitted pink "isn't most people's first choice" but still called it "similar." * They refused to exchange it for any neutral color (black, white, blue) even if I waited. * I sat on hold forever for a manager who ultimately offered zero solution. Color may sound cosmetic, but it matters--especially when they never warn you. If Asurion can't return the product you actually bought, what else will they cut corners on? The reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because it's very expensive and more importantly the two men who work at the front computers are unbelievably rude. Anthony the owner is wonderful as well as the young lady who is there sometimes helping customers but the two guys- one African-American one Asian are horrible. They are flat out rude to customers. I experienced this treatment myself and also witnessed the way they treated the other customers who were tg while I was in the store. We all looked at each other and couldn't believe the way these guys were behaving towards customers. Anthony you need to put people at the front who are personable respectful and treat your customers properly. This review is for the great service I recently received from Anthony. He was able to quickly repair my laptop and saved me $1000 since I didn't have to buy a new one. He was meticulous running a series of tests, explaining the repair process and quickly fixed the problem. I had previously taken my laptop to 3 other places, 2 of which just wanted to replace the motherboard at a cost of ~$800 and the 3rd place did such a sloppy job that they not only kept my laptop for over 2 weeks without fixing anything but also managed to leave the laptops fan and heat sink out of the laptop when I picked it up. Luckily I was able to recover the fan from the previous repair shop once Anthony alerted me it was missing and he didn't even charge me extra for having to re-install the fan, how great is that!!! Finding a repair place you can trust is really hard these days so I'm really glad I found an honest person like Anthony to fix my laptop. I really appreciated his detailed explanations of the repair which really demonstrated he knew what he was doing. My laptop is working like new as I type this review. I know this place has received some bad reviews in the past but you should know it is recently under new ownership so you should give them a try. Very knowledgeable about how insurance plans worked and when I asked helped recommend a screen protector. Wasn't pushy on sales. Nice young man, fixed it within 45 min, like promised. Gave me my phone back and..... once it loaded back up there was no service. Tried to call him back, number was off. Tried to call this store as he operates out of this location, they couldn't get on hold with him. Now i have completely useless phone, even though before it was working just fine. Called about a battery replacement for my phone. I was quoted a price, they verified they had the battery in stock, and said if I brought the phone in then I could have it back by the end of business. I drove over immediately and checked in with the clerk. After explaining while I was there, he took my phone into the back for a second. He returned to tell me the "bad news" that because my phone had a faint line of screen burn they would have to replace my screen as well. The price quoted for the battery was $70. They wanted $240 for the screen and battery for my 3.5 year old phone. What 3.5 year old phone that's been used daily does not have any screen degradation of any kind? Very disappointed in their service. I have cell phone insurance through AT&T. I filed a claim with Assurion, they sent a guy from this company to simply replace a cracked screen. When I got the phone back, it was completely inoperable. Apps opened and closed by themselves, letters and numbers typed are incorrect and it disconnects calls. I cannot even enter my password to unlock the phone. Terrible repair job. Assurion is now having to FedEx me a new phone. Won't ever use them again. read more

I was very disappointed. I originally decided to come to this location because of its high rating and numerous positive reviews. I also wanted to skip possibly paying more at Apple. My experience could not have been more different than the reviews here. I dropped my computer off on July 7th. Before dropping it off, I was told over the phone that the diagnostic process would take 24-48 hours. When I arrived, I was told it was actually going to take 7-14 days to diagnose problem then would take a few more days to fix. The LCD was cracked, I knew this and told them this going in. Although I am aware the the diagnostic process is standard, 7-14 days to "diagnose" a crack in the screen? Regardless, I agreed as my time and options were limited. I was given a receipt that told me I could expect to hear back "before 7/21/20", and received a text from a number where I could expect to receive updates about my repair. Throughout the near MONTH my computer spent here, I never received updates even after asking during one of my phone conversations with them. My computer was never even touched. Because I never received any updates before 7/21 or 2 weeks later like I was told I would, I called. I was told they were "waiting to hear back from the distribution center" for the part they needed. I was told they would call me within the next couple of days once they heard back from the distribution center. A couple days passed and I heard nothing, so I called back. They told me they heard back from the center, and the part would be shipped within 3-5 days. This meant the diagnostic process was done and they knew what the quote would be, but I was never informed. Again. I called back after 3-5 days and was told, again, they were waiting on the distribution center and could take 7-10 more days. I finally gave up and almost a MONTH after dropping my computer off, I picked it up and brought it to Apple instead. It has been fixed for $50 cheaper and took one business day. While I can appreciate that some of these bumps in the road were likely out of their control, they are responsible for their lack of communication, apparently severe back up in repairs causing the diagnostic process to take 1-2 weeks for a cracked screen, as well as not being clear with one another resulting in telling customers over the phone that the process will be much shorter than it actually was. I took a laptop so we can change the screen as it was broken. The reps there asked me to buy an Asurion Plus membership which cost $24.99 a month. For it, they promised, they will fix any issue with any electronics I would have and they guaranteed that if they could not fix it they will replace it. Never they mentioned, nor the flyer they gave states any other charges. I purchased the membership and they changed the screen which did not get fixed as it should as they put glue in the new screen and they, either used cheap glue or they don't know how to do it but the screen was hanging and coming off. I had to take it there 2 times. Each time I had to spend at least an hour before it was my turn, despite the fact that there was only 2 people in the store. Next time, I had a desktop that was tuning on but nothing was being displayed in the monitor. I took it ubreakifix, after almost 2 hours wait for my turn I was told they cannot fix it and I had to open a claim and send it to Asurion. I called Asurion and opened a claim for which you have to wait 3 days to get approved. Then I got charged $99 for service fee. Then, two weeks later, I got the computer back, I turned it on, the screen showed me the logon screen and as I was typing id and password, it went off again. By then I had been without computer for almost 4 weeks, that is how long it took between opining the claim, waiting for them to ship me a box to ship the computer, ship the computer and get it back. I could no longer wait as I needed the computer to work so I bought a new one. I asked Asurion to cancel the membership. They did not cancel it and next month sure enough I got charge the monthly fee. I called to ask why it has not been cancelled and I was told that I should have had the computer replaced, thus I would get the refund of the $99 I got charged and I was talked into keeping the membership as they told me this store in Schaumburg did not know what they were doing so to give them one more change and they gave me a free month of membership to try them again. Next time, a VR headset of my son's playstation 4 was not working properly, I called ubreakifix Schaumburg, I spoke over the phone to the manager and asked them if I could bring it to them to fix it. Manager said yes, to bring it and they will fix it for free as I had Asurion Plus. I went to the store with the headset, after the customary wait, 2 hours later, I was told that I had to open a claim with Asurion and ship it to them. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me that they do not fix those in there and I had to ship it. I asked hjm why he had said to me that they will fix it for free and he told me that he understood that all I wanted is to be diagnosed. I asked him then go ahead diagnose it and I was told it will take a couple of weeks as they had a lot of work and my best bet was to call Asurion which I did. Same long process, go to web site, create a claim and wait 3 days for claim to be approved. 3 days later I got email requesting pictures of front and back. I submit the pictures as required. 3 days later, another email stating that I need to send a picture of the serial number as well, I told them there was no serial number nad the only number I saw anywhere in the headset was bar code that stated with H but I did not know if that was the serial number, they told me to go ahead and send that which I did. 12 days later I called back to Asurion to ask and they tell me: "oh yeah, once you pay the $99 service fee we will fix it for you". I asked then what is the $24.99 I pay monthly for and they told me that was to have the right to open a claim, I was told that the $24.99 was just as a car insurance, you are covered and when something happened I had to pay a deductible, thus every claim I had to pay $99 service fee (deductible). I told them yes but after I pay the deductible to my car insurance my car is fixed and that was not what happened to my computer. II was told that a manager will call me back within 30 minutes. 2 days later I called to ask about the phone call and I had to start with the same story all over, no notes in their side, it was as if I never spoke to anybody and it was the first time I called. I took my time to explain, same results, I will get a call within 2 business days. That was 7 days ago. I called today and same story, after hour and half waiting, the rep tells me that someone call me back within 2 business days. UGGGGHHHHHH!!!! By the way while I was in the store talking to the manager who brushed me off asking me to open a claim with Asurion, there were other customers there that when they heard my situation they also voice their discontent with the service and they were having issues as well and they were on line for over 90 minutes waiting in the waiting room waiting to speak to someone, but the store is empty at front, just customers, I myself had to wait over 15 minutes to even see a clerk to greed me. Okay, I've tried, but done with this company. Was great with owners 4 years ago, evidently it sold to a new owner who does not believe in customer service. Called two weeks ago on a Thursday regarding my daughter's IPAD, told me I could drop off on Friday(drop off service only). Got a call on Friday, no they no longer can do this, made appointment for Tuesday 1215. Show up Tuesday no answer, voicemail still full from last week (people are working their, I think) I call repeatedly, someone answers and say just let us know when your out front. I had left after ten calls. I said I'll be there in literally 3 minutes. Sign on door saying they are in meeting for an hour!!! I call, knock, call, knock... finally they answer with an attitude. I said your employee three minutes told me to call when I'm here. Finally, takes the IPAD and tells me next week Wednesday 6pm. I requested to purchase 2 otter box cases as well. "Yes we'll call you with your color options, I'll go in back and check". NEVER CALLED BACK. I show up Thursday morning, again same thing, no answer, in box full. I wait, some man evidently got ahold of someone and is standing outside for 20 minutes. When the employee comes out I just say sorry, picking up my IPAD, it was ready yesterday. He goes in, 10 minutes later comes out and explains the IPAD he has been looking at for 8 days was "checked in" wrong by the employee and they don't have the parts! So I explain my EXTREME DISPLEASURE with their company! I said and I never got a call about the otter boxes and what colors to choose from?!! He apologizes and promises me I will get a call yesterday. I know you are not going to believe this, but, NO CALL. I call again today, no answer!!! PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS, go anywhere else!!!! If you are questioning this post, just dial their number and see for yourself. I wanted to help Schaumburg businesses, especially now, I will not use them again!!!! I am just giving an update. Had to bring IPAD back, I called and advised him I thought the screen wasn't even. I was advised it was double checked. When you turn on IPAD there is part of the old tape from the previous shell underneath the new screen. I mailed in my iphone XR to repair the cracked screen on the backside on a Tuesday. UPS tracking said that the store received my phone Wednesday in the morning. I tried viewing the status of my repair online later Wednesday night, but had no luck because the system didn't recognize my tracking number. I called the store and left a message asking to call me back regarding the status of my phone on Wednesday. No response by end of Thursday, so I left a message on thursday kindly asking them to call me with an update whether my phone could be fixed or not. By the end of the day Friday, I still hadn't heard back from the store so I tried calling (didn't get through to anyone so I left another message). At this point I also contacted the store via the website asking for them to call me back. Mid day Saturday I still had no communication with the store, so I tried calling several times (left a message one more time). I called before they were going to close and finally got a hold of a technician. He said that "about a year ago Apple stopped selling the parts to repair the back of the iphone XR. I can mail it back to you on Monday". I rushed to the store to get it myself because i needed my phone for work purposes. I'm disappointed that I 1) had the option to repair the back side of my phone on the website when this isn't even possible anymore 2) the complete lack of communication from the store's end, and 3) the lack of respect for the customer. The only positive thing I have to say is about the online chat customer support. I waited 25 minutes before I got a reply back from an agent (I wish there was a message displaying how much of a wait I had) and she was more helpful than the storefront people. If this was known for a whole year, I just wish the store would have called me to let me know that they couldn't fix my phone sooner, but instead they didn't answer my numerous attempts to contact them, when I needed my phone. read more

Let me just start off by saying that I am very hard in my electronic devices due to constant travel.I have come to this place at least 3 times since it opened. Every single time, not only is their customer service terrific, their estimations on repair and appt times are spot on. I have met the owner the first time and if the same one today, she has hired the BEST technicians I have ever met. They are are calm when customers can be upset, impatient and uncomfortable with parting from their electronics for a short duration. Their communication skills of offering different options of a positive nature for the customer to make them feel like they are regaining the control back from their loss is a skill not every technician has when dealing with a challenging public. The technician are not just smart and capable of tackling some difficult problems, but they are also very kind, polite, sympathetic and compassionate to each customer's specific situation. The technicians are so dedicated to their work that they by-passed their well-earned short break to continue handling their customer in closing up the transaction. Kudos to hiring some very well-rounded technicians in a world that has lost focus on the human factor behind the electronics. I walked out each time very happy with the service offered and recommended to all my friends and family! (Even one of the technicians spoke Spanish fluently with technological terms that are not easy to master as a second language.)
