I am a broke (not just sorta broke, I am so broke I go to the pantry for food) college student, and you scammed me after ACKNOWLEDGING your prices were higher than they should be. No sympathy. No empathy. Just cruel profit-driven intentions. I can no longer afford to fix my phone AGAIN right before break. My phone was moderately alright before you guys touched it. I can't believe that you can look at a college-aged girl, struggling to breathe when the price to fix her only point of contacting her family 1000 miles away, and then say "Yeah, you weren't expecting that price were you." I am appalled. As I sat for three hours, missing two classes with mandatory attendance to get my phone fixed, it took another hour to get the wifi password to not be stranded in the middle of Gainesville. I have worked customer service. I understand it is not easy and there is a lot demanded of you. However, I never lost my integrity in the quality of service I provided. I frequently go and HAVE GONE out of my way, into personal inconvenience, to ensure a patron's exemplary experience. Ubreakifix has failed to do so. Never in my life, have I had a cooperative of adults so abhorrently dysfunction. Put ME in the back, cause I am damn near sure, at least then something might be done correctly at this establishment. I saw the quotes you gave other people around me. You scammed more than one old person. Appalled. Disgusted. I know see your gross business practice as Asurion parent company. You offer "insurance" and then have your services fail. Wow. You have reminded me, that there truly is evil left in this world. Not only have you scammed me, but I can guarantee you also fail to pay your employees a livable wage. Wow. Failing me, AND the people who work for you. I have learned that companies who play dirty, make dirty money. I hope you are happy you got $250 of my $800 a month paycheck (mind you, before rent). Because obviously, I know how to invest in my education, but not in a scam. Unfortunately, this being the first time I have ever been scammed so badly, I used to have hope for humanity. Dropped off apple I-11 phone. Suspected: Dead Battery. Reason: Did not charge or "turn-on." Battery replaced. Returned less than 2 hours later. Then I was asked for my password. Returned 30 minutes later, an extra trip and time. The phone turned on! was told only issue was phone needed new battery. 18 hours later. The phone would not turn on! So, I bought another phone and signed up with Verizon Business. This experience cost 2.5 hours, $118.24, several calls and texts, resulting in more economic and time lost. The technician failed to look or discover / undercover or report that the phone's failure was beyond replacing a battery, charging this customer time, money, opportunity costs. Perhaps the technician was not adequately trained, experienced, or had time restraints per job or was waiting for the next job order. Whatever the reason to repair this phone or report the repair issue, I will NOT RECOMMEND uBreakifix to friends or family members, based on this first and only experience with this company at this Gainesville location on 22 January 2025. read more

A representative contacted me via telephone prior to my appointment to advise me of the cost. Which I was quoted at $89.00. When I arrived, the cashier advised me that it was $99.00. When I told him someone called me and quoted me $89.00, he advised me, "well I can't make up the price soooo." PARTS: They said it would be fixed in an hour, it actually took 2 hours. I sat in the lobby while I listened to the technicians laugh and play and talk about customers as they departed. Over all: 1 out of 5 stars. I could have sent to the magic mall and got my screen fixed by Nick for $60. I have insurance, they didn't use it. Only reason why I did business with them is because my daughter wanted her phone repaired and she didn't want another phone/upgrade. This place is a total scam. They lock you into getting the phone or device fixed by making you pay a "service" fee and then you better ask for a receipt or they will not give you one. Whatever you do, don't take your phone, device, or money here. As of 3/28 "they are closing Sunday until further notice" whatever that means. read more

I went in at 1:35 Pm thinking my iPhone screen was broken. The young guy In front of me was a college student not from around here. When he heard how much it was going to be to fix his iPhone with a cracked screen he was heartbroken. Too much for him to Pay. I wanted to help in any way I can so I decided to give him one of my screen protectors that I had with me. He was very appreciative. Now my phone thank goodness the only thing wrong was my screen protector was damaged. The employee took one of the screen protectors I had with me and put it on for me. Do NOT EVER GO HERE!!! The lady here is insane. I ordered the battery and placed an insurance claim and they took my phone and said we are noting this scratch on the screen. They took it in back and said it would be ready in two hours and I was then yelled at to come back and told they couldn't fix my phone because of the scratch. She was very rude and talked to me like I didn't understand what she was saying and told me you can't fix a phone with deep scratches. It's literally a surface scratch. She showed me the actual depth of the screen and the scratch is literally surface. I was very upset and said are you kidding me after I waited all this time and came in earlier and you had no internet and waited hours to drop it off. When I tried to show her the scratch on my phone and held it up to show her she shrieked and threw up her hands says ahhhh like I was trying to hit her! Don't go here! I am reporting her to Apple and BBB. She is insane. I was afraid of her and we left immediately!!! They also tried to charge me 309 for a screen repair on a laptop and suggested insurance for 209 registration fee and another $99 for the repair. Do NOT GO HERE!!!! We came here because it was supposed to be cheap and quick.. Well, you get what you pay for! My son took the phone in at 10:10am, they opened at 10. He was told by the guy it would be ready in an hour. Went back an hour later a lady told me 30-35 more minutes, she was working on it and all she had to do was put the new screen in and put my IPhone 6s back together. My son went in 40 minutes later and the same lady who hadn't left the front desk told him 30 more minutes. By this time it is after the 2 hour pick up time that was listed on the ticket. Almost 3 hours later, I still don't have my phone so I don't know the quality of work they do but I do know that the repair time is WAYYY off! Update- another lady came from the back room and she the phone was ready to give her 10 minutes she wanted to restart the phone to make sure it was calibrated correctly . We set a timer. I went into Ubreakifix yesterday after my phone screen shattered. I came in to get my screen replaced and I explicitly told the technician that my phone camera wasn't working and asked that he diagnosis what was wrong. When I came back to pick up my phone, I asked again about the camera and was told that there was nothing wrong with either the front or back camera. On my way home I realized that when I typed, the screen was freaking out. It registered different letters than I put in, started calling people when I was in the midst of typing messages, and would move to a different line of text in the middle of me typing a paragraph. The camera also is still not working. It is very obvious that the camera doesn't work because if and when the screen isn't black, it turns whatever is on the front facing camera purple. You can see this in the screenshot of me trying to FaceTime. I called Ubreakifix to sort this problem out since it is in the middle of Coronavirus and I obviously don't want to go outside any more than I need to. They told me that I was lying about asking about the camera. The person on the phone literally said, "IF that happened, there is no way you can prove it." He is right. Due to fears of Coronavirus spread, I was not allowed inside the store so there is no recording of me asking the technician anything. Terrible experience. Took my iPhone 12 Pro Max to get a cracked screen replaced.the 1st day I was told they wouldn't be able to get to my phone unless I joined their service program then I would jump to the front of the line and it would take about an hour. I said absolutely not and decided to call the corporate office on my way home and they apologized and called the store and told me if I would go back they would give me $75 off the repair. A little hesitant to return I said what the heck $75 off is worth it. When I returned to the store the 2nd day and they didn't seem to remember the $75 discount they agreed to until I called the corporate office again to jog their memory. After picking the replacement screen and told it would be about 2-3 hours to fix I decided to wait around on it since I live out of town. Around the 3 hour mark I went back inside to check the status and was told they were having some issues and thought it was the the new IOS 16 and wanted to take it back to IOS 15.7 and install the screen and was told it would be another hour. A little irritated at this point but said ok sure if that's what you have to do. Fast forward 3 more hours and still no phone. Just as the store closed the tech came out and told be they were gonna have to replace my device because they messed up the backlight. They would file the claim and notify me when to come in and pick it up. A week went by with no communication from the store unless I called to check the status and they still didn't have my replacement phone. When the phone arrived they informed me I would have to come in and pay for the original repair and give them my device. I told them I was willing to give them the device they broke beyond repair but not willing to pay to put a screen on a phone that wasn't repairable at this time because of something they did. The store manager nor their corporate office were willing to wave the original repair fee and insisted this was their policy and I was going to have to pay for the original repair and turn in my device. I had one of the worst customer experiences of my life here, and it was all with the manager. They replaced my iphone X screen twice with faulty screens that would become nonresponsive within a day and I had to bring my phone back both times to be fixed. When I was there getting their first faulty screen replaced, right off the bat, the manager was short with me and began to blame ME for breaking her screens! After the THIRD screen replacement finally worked, to remedy all of my time she wasted and how rude she was, she offered me $10 back, and when I didn't immediately jump on it, she said "What? We're you expecting more???" as if I was an idiot. Finally, the last screen they gave me was also so cheap that it shattered from a 1 foot drop in a phone case. I have never in my life broken a phone screen before this one. I was so nauseated thinking about going back to the store that I decided to put packaging tape on it and just wait until I can afford a new phone. Brought in an iphone with a broken screen, they replaced it with an aftermarket screen. When the repair was done, instead of calling the number I gave them for my friend, they called my number...the one for the phone they had, lol. The replacement screen had issues with touch sensing that just wouldn't work sometimes unless I cycled the power button for a few minutes. They didn't tell me any of this when they gave it back to me and when I took it back in they gave me a bunch of guff about how it was really messed up when I brought it in the first time and now they're gonna put an oem screen on it and have me pay the extra like $200 difference. I have never had worse service from any store. The repair was to take 3 to 5 days. I went back in 5 days and they said if I joined their service program I would go to the head of the line., I was number 5 that day. Three days later they said I was number 8 ????? After 15 days they said it was fixed, but when I picked it up they said it had ghosts on the screen and they would have to redo it. After another week I got called to pick it up, again it had ghost so they said they would redo it. Another 5 days and I was given the iPad and it was black and frozen, again a redo. Finally after over a month I had my iPad. In the meantime I bought a refurbished iPad on Amazon for the same price as the new screen. It only lasted four months and then I had to pay $80 to replace it again. When I asked them why it only lasted four months they blamed my usage habits. I would not recommend this place. We have several other repair places in Gainesville who value their customers. I called the store on Archer road and Armando was very rude and unprofessional towards me. Armando had no regards towards my phone repair situation and basically shoved me off very rude and sarcastically and rushed me off of the phone without a care in the world. Armando also told me that he couldn't help me over the phone, because I wasn't there in person and he couldn't waste time. Armando also stated its in there policy not to help customers over the phone unless they come in person. I was very confused by this, and when I repeated what he said, he confirmed it and wrapped up the conversation before I was even finished. I will not recommend this company to anyone. Avoid this business! They broke my son's face recognition while fixing the front camera green screen they "accidentally" created when the phone was brought to them originally to fix the back camera. The managers response - Alex, offered my son, after repeated visits from my son to have this issue resolved, a 75% discount on a new case. I have made numerous calls to the store for Alex and the owner Chris who have made no attempt to contact me or even attempt to resolve this issue. I have spoken with employees Damian and Chris who have advised they have contacted Chris and Alex with still no resolution. I am filing a report with the BBB about this company as I feel they are taking advantage of the young college kids in this area. These phones are not cheap and when they are brought to this company in good faith I feel they should follow through on their promise to fix it or be up front and honest if they accidentally break something during the process of fixing it.
