Brought in a broken PC to diagnose (not fix). It took them two weeks, they kept telling me the person working on it wasn't in when I called. Eventually they told me they needed me to bring in a GPU which I had already told them wasn't the problem (my CPU has on-board video output). Early on in walking into Ubreakifix I had an initial good impression. I was ensured the broken and chipped parts of my HP could be replaced. Simple plastic and backing. I gave a $100 deposit in good faith. Weeks go by. Not one associate or manager calls to follow up with my repair order. All responses had to come from my end. I was told constantly that it would get done. All of the time I stopped in to check, customers with other devices were being checked in and handled. I eventually went in and asked for my 100$ back. I had a very concerning experience here and would not return. First impressions matter. The technician at the desk was extremely unprofessional in appearance--wearing a stained sweatshirt and headphones covering her ears, which she did not remove while speaking to me. That alone made communication difficult and uncomfortable. I was initially told that my phone screen repair was covered under warranty and would be free. I specifically asked that if there were any costs at all, I be called before the repair was completed. I was very clear about this. The technician then asked me to unlock my phone. I questioned why that was necessary just to replace a screen and explained that I was uncomfortable because my phone contains a lot of personal and sensitive information. I asked if there was a "safe mode" or any way to protect my data. I was told, "That's just how it is," and reassured they don't go through phones. Reluctantly, I left it. Six hours later, I returned and was told the repair would cost $200 because the technician had been "wrong" about the warranty. I asked why I was never called as requested, and the response was that she was "busy." I was also told the old screen could be put back on, but I would need to return again in three more hours--I live 40 minutes away. At that point, I decided to just pay the $200. That's when I noticed all of my apps were missing when i openedthe phone. I was told my phone was in "maintenance mode." This was never mentioned earlier, and it directly contradicted what I was told when I asked about a safety mode to protect my data. If maintenance mode existed, why wasn't it used when I specifically raised privacy concerns? Now I'm left having to change all of my passwords and secure my accounts because I no longer feel confident that my personal information was protected. Between the misinformation, lack of communication, unprofessional behavior, and serious privacy concerns, this experience was unacceptable. read more

He knows exactly the issues and recommendations. Although young, but well experienced and deserves a good raise for supporting this company store. Have a visit to "Little Pot" across the street while you wait. Take a drive and shop at Costco, Hmart, and 99 Ranch. But please make an appointment!!!!! This is one of the only sites that does Verizon and ATT insurance plan repairs so they are extremely busy and they order parts when needed. My experience with ubreakIfix has been lackluster. It all started with my phone's battery dying prematurely and being given an option by my carrier to send it in for a warranty replacement or to bring it here. My carrier basically sold me on coming here because they said it would take a minimum of 10 to 14 days if I sent it to have my phone fixed, and it would be the same day if I went here. None of this information was provided by them it was all provided through my carrier so I decided to come here. I went to the store to drop off my phone, and they told me they would need to order the part which would take at least 3 to 4 days. So I took my phone back and showed up 3 to 4 days later, they confirmed they had the part and I left it there. They were supposed to fix it that day and unfortunately they did not have my password which apparently held up the process because they could not test the phone. Although it was a battery issue, in my mind does it charge and hold said charge, because you can test that without opening it. Regardless I got it the next thing. This is where things got wonky, later that day I realized my camera no longer worked when I went to get a QR code. Being that the camera work before dropping it off I assumed it was related to the repair. Because I didn't have time the next day at work 2 days later I had to drop the phone back off It was supposed to take a day and they needed my password again and requested it through email, so at least there was now a record and I got it the next thing. They said that the cable for the camera had come off the board. Fast forward to a month later, I could feel something large loose inside my phone, I called my carrier they basically said since this store fixed it their responsible to fix it again and my option to the carrier was to just purchase a new phone at whatever price point they had. not my favorite thing because of what happened before, but I reluctantly went back to the store. I told them I thought it was the battery as you can feel something move, and by this point the camera had also stopped working again. They told me the adhesive on the replacement batteries was not the best and that they could look at it I get back to me the same day. They said they would call me when it was done, and I reminded them that they had my phone, so I left my wife's phone number. I was starting a new job the next day and was mildly frustrated but felt relieved that I would be able to have my phone for then. Until I didn't, and once we called them no one answered and then they were closed. The next day I stopped in to get my phone, and they told me they never called because they didn't have the password, hover when I dropped it off they reference the email where I sent them the password, so I gave it to them again and they were able to have it put back together within an hour or two. When I picked it up I told him I still noticed the shaking, and the person told me that it was the camera lens. I told them that I thought it was not the camera lens because in all the time I've had this phone I've never felt it shift like this and that this feels like the battery and I was told I was wrong. Fast forward a few hours after they're closed, I realized that they had given my phone and upgrade with a quick turn off function, all I need to do was put the phone in my pocket or turn it upside down when I had it in my hand and the phone would automatically turn off. Extremely frustrated I ended up ordering a new phone because I couldn't keep dealing with this. And luckily my new job let me out early that day and so I went back to the shop to explain the new upgraded feature and a different clerk was at the front and told me the shaking is likely the battery and was able to look at it right away. Deciding to wait because I figured something would go wrong and they would need my password again, which they did even though I was doing it to them three times at this point, once in an email that pulls up apparently when they look at my profile. The phone was fixed, it was the battery and another adhesive issue. This is an incredibly long review and I guess the moral of the story is if given the option to get a repair to the carrier, I would go that route. While their initial 10 to 14 day estimate seemed very long you literally just drop your phone off at a mail carrier and they send it back. My experience here has my time wasted exponentially more than that. I chose to give this place to stars instead of one because the clerks were nice and calm. And all the times I came there was usually a line and a lot of people were directed here for things that they said they are not actually able to fix, which I'm sure is frustrating for both The customers and the employees yet throughout this whole time they did stay friendly and try to explain what was in their limitations. read more

Was sent over to this repair store from the Verizon store a mile away after my iphones screen went out. Hadn't even thought of getting it fixed, figured I'd be getting a new phone, but having the insurance it was covered. Got to store at opening, check in was easy as Verizon had sent in the repair order, was told to come back later and when I did phone was ready for me to access it so they could do diagnostic check. Very professional, they answered any questions I had and any from customers who were ahead of me while waiting. One women thought her screen was cracked, but the tech told her it was just her screen saver which she didn't even know she had one on, now that means alot not taking advantage of people who don't understand (like me), all the technical jargon. Note: This all happened within a day of going on vacation, so it was great getting it fix rather than bringing a new phone. I had been through a nightmare experience trying to get a screen repair for my iPad. Mailed it in to my local location (not Piscataway) and it was lost with no record or help to retrieve it. I went directly to Piscataway, a corporate location, and they were VERY quick to assist. They found my iPad, ran test on it to assess the damages and determined they would replace the iPad for me at no cost in order to make it right. They acknowledged the mistakes and trouble I went through and within 24 hours I had a solution and new iPad. The team there was friendly and supportive! I thank them for their help. read more

Horrible business that needs to be investigated. This company misleads the public by advertising that it is a Samsung Authorized Repair that can fix device back in 2 hours or less. Which is a lie and if you look at the negative reviews on Google for this location, more than 20 people are complaining their devices were returned broken and repairs are not completed on time. I didn't look at the reviews before coming here, because I trusted the Samsung agent over the phone that Ubreakifix was a reliable repair company. Do not be fooled, no way all these customers can be lying and giving negative reviews, if this business was doing a good job. The good reviews I believe are fake and written by the business. Please don't be another victim and take your expensive devices to a business that does not have over 20 bad reviews or mail to Samsung for repairs. Samsung advised me to go to Ubreakifix for my Galaxy Z Flip3 5G plastic screen to be repaired that had bubbles.The cost would be free because I have a warranty with Samsung . My phone was to be repaired in 24-42 hours and I was given a tracking number to use on their  website to check the status. After 39 hours no employees called about my phone and I then checked the website for repair status and saw it was still in Pre and Diagnostic stage. This store did not even make an attempt to work on my phone after two days had already passed. I had enough and wanted to have my phone repaired somewhere else. Also the website I checked for my repair status  was showing I will have to pay a Samsung Flat rate Labor of $65.00. After seeing this, I called Samsung and was told labor cost is included in the warranty and the store shouldn't  be charging me anything. Then I checked the reviews for this place and saw my experience of Ubreakifix not finishing the repairs on time was business as usual for them. I didn't feel comfortable with this Ubreakifit  location and called the store at 11:30am on Friday. I told the employee I see the repair was not started according to the status website, and I will just come In a hour to pick up my phone. The shady man over the phone was now telling me, the screen repair was completed and diagnostic testing needed to be done, it will be ready no later than 2:30pm today. When I questioned him why this information wasn't uploaded on the website, he claimed not to know. I arrived at the store at 3:30pm and a male employee was now saying the phone didn't pass diagnostic testing and they were going to remove the new screen off my device. I told the man, my phone was in perfect working condition when I gave it on Wednesday. When I asked which diagnostic testing my phone didn't past, he wouldn't give me an answer. I told the man to let me see the phone. He refused to show me and went to the back to speak to someone. When he came back to the front he said I would have to come  in 3 hours to get the phone. I told him I could not come back in 3 hours. Let me see the phone. He went in the back again and now a different man came out. I told this man I wanted to see my phone and he refused to show and said come back in 3 hours. I now called the police and when the two officers arrived, the Ubreakifix employee immediately gave my phone to them. The police came 30 minutes after I called and now there was no longer a 3 hour wait. These crooked Ubreakifix employees were telling me 3 hours, because they never worked on my phone. They were hoping if I came back in 3 hour the work could be done and they could embezzle me for $65.00 of labor cost. My warranty with Samsung already covered labor costs. I know this type of scam when people try to embezzle, and that's why I called the police. When the officer handed the phone to me. I can see no repair was ever done to it. The Galaxy z flip 3 5G screen is made of plastic which allows the phone to bend. If an Ubreakifix employee took off the old plastic screen and put in a new one. Then removed the new screen to put back the old, due to the phone not passing testing. There is no way a sticky  plastic screen would have the same bubble in exact spots. I took pictures of my phone before giving it to this place, I can see they never worked on it. They did manage to treat my phone like trash and put scrapes on it which removed the black finishing on the sides.  I should of  never trusted these sketchy people with my $1200 phone. Do not come here. If you have a warranty with Samsung. Mail your devices  to Samsung for repair. These useless employees at Ubreakifix will treat your property like trash. read more

I had an issue with my 3 month old Samsung S23 Ultra. Samsung tech was unable to solve the issue and recommended I try this place. They fixed it in less than 5 minutes by backing me out of the last update. Three days later the same problem crept up and I went back to the Piscataway store. Once again they fixed it within minutes and explained that the issue was the Google app and that it should be updated in a couple weeks. They backed me out of the Beta and so far it is working. They assured me I should not have to resort to a factory reset so I will give it a couple weeks and see what happens after the next update. They are very patient, GREAT at explaining the issue and I am so glad they are available!!! I am VERY happy with the service so far (not so happy with Samsung and Google...) read more

They fixed the phone fine at a standard rate. But did not like the attitude of one of the employees. When a customer is walks in and you expect them to wait while you type away, just simply say, "I will be right with you." But I just stood there for a good 10 mins, until I had to speak up and say "so who should I speak with?" And then one of the employees just looks up and says "can you wait a moment" and just glares at me, as if he is going to start a literal fight for a good minute. Anyway I ignore the dude, leave my phone. They were supposed to call me when the phone was ready but they didn't, so when I called back after 4 hours they said it's ready to pick up. Lo and behold when I go to pick it up the store is a battlefield where two customers are arguing over line cutting or something, involving the same rude employee who mean mugged me earlier and he just seemed flabbergasted. I picked up my phone. But seriously get your act together guys. Learn how to serve customers if you are going to work in customer service, especially when the customer is actually NICE to you. They do their job, however extremely apathetically. Technicians and representatives are constantly mumbling, making long trips to the back with no explanation, allowing long lines of 10 ppl to accrue in the store while still taking 20 minutes per customer to do something as simple as pickup an item. They failed to create a ticket for my device i brought in and i had to call daily to keep on top of the repair and make sure they are working on it. Even though i told them daily, they never made an official ticket. They failed to do so every-time i told them to. Its just extremely clear that the employees and management at this site just plainly do not care about the work they do. Horrible beyond belief!! Same for the other store owned by the same owner as the Piscataway store. I went in for a simple repair of a phone screen. They were sending me out with a screen that wasn't flush to the phone and a home button that wasn't working. His answer was, "Well that's because the screen your insurance sent wasn't good quality. Tell them." This was the same story I was told when the store in North Plainfield when there was a cloud underneath the new screen". That's why I went to the Piscataway one, not realizing it was the same owner. It also didn't help that he was licking his fingers prior to touching my phone. Really, the worst of the worst. Avoid this location on Stelton Rd. In a word, incompetent. I needed a screen repair for my cell. I set an online appointment 11am, I get there and the place is not open. There are two other customers who had unhonored 10am appointments, they called the company and was told that someone would be there at 12pm. At noon, they take my phone and tell me it will take 3-4hrs. I come back 4hrs later, I'm told that it was a busy day and they didn't get to my phone. I come back the following day at 2pm. They never started the repair. On the first day that asked for an alternative contact number, I should have received a courtesy call to update me on my status. No one picked up when I called. My time was wasted. I will never go there again. Do yourself a favor and go to another location. Again they are incompetent. read more

Came out of UbreakiFix Piscataway. I thought the charging port on my phone had become dislodged because when I would plug it in my phone wouldn't charge, and brought it in for repair. Keith welcomed me in and took a quick look, he pulled out a metal tool and stated cleaning my port pulling out a bunch of pocket lint and it turns out that's all I needed! Brought phone in to fix screen and back. Both were cracked. When they contacted me to pickup, I noticed immediately that the back was NOT fixed and actually cracked even more to the point where the actual inside of the phone was visible...literally peeled open the outer layer of phone. I inquired about this and guy behind the counter said their machine broke. Wouldn't tell me what to do next or when machine will be fixed. Complete garbage service. I know businesses always fuck up once or twice from time to time but this is beyond tolerable. I'm a lawyer at a large firm in NYC and actually litigate small claims so I am considering bringing a lawsuit. That's how bad this is. Hope they don't delete this comment. 11/7/2020 Update: I contacted UBIF home office customer resolutions at (877)320-2237, and they said they would open a case and get in touch with the store. In the meantime, since I use my phone for work, I fixed the phone myself. It needed a new motherboard. Yes, the 'new' motherboard they put in was broken too. Actually, it wasn't new and had a loose capacitor and they also damaged the digitizer connector pins. More on this at the end in you're interested. Anyhow, UBIF customer resolutions says because I fixed the phone myself, they can't refund me. How does that make sense? I'm guessing they're referring to their terms conditions clause 'This warranty is VOID if Your Device shows evidence of having been tampered with (broken seal) ...' Well, tampering by definition is 'interfere with (something) in order to cause damage or make unauthorized alterations,' not to remediate, and in this case specifically, remediate UBIF's ineptitude. Hate to do this, but small claims might be the only way to get these folks to do the right thing. As mentioned previously, all indications point to the fact that the motherboard they installed as replacement was used. Probably lowest cost part on some auction website. There was also a loose capacitor on the board, which is why it bricked the phone (see photo). And there was a damaged ribbon connector (see photo). Expectation was for a few days. Brought it in on the 20th and follow up email said Wednesday, January 20th at 10:15pm Tracking Code: T12202345412. It took days more to order the part. The timeline on the website for tracking never moved until Feb when I asked why it wasn't being updated. The said parts been ordered end of Jan and it wasn't until 2/5 then I was told any day the part will be in. This part was readily available on Amazon for 29.95. but no, I had to wait. Then at the point I was fed up waiting, I went to take back my wii and the sign on the door at 10:05 showed a delayed opening. I sat their two hrs waiting and then had to drive home 45 min each way to try for days to get thru to someone. The night before I picked it up I spoke to "O" on phone and he said the part was in and he should be able to fix it that night. it would be ready before 9PM or tomorrow and that he'd call me. no call. I came in the following morning at 10:10 to get my wii and they said it want ready yet they needed another 30 min. at 1130 it was finally ready. I heard something loose in the unit and handed it back, the person brought the unit to the back and then came out with the most ridiculous excuse that it was "dust". You must think your customers are idiots. I will never ever use or recommend ubreakifix to anyone, ever! read more

I brought our laptop there June 3rd. They said they will call with estimate. After 1 week I called them. They said they sent it to one of their other stores but it should be done the next day. After 2 weeks I called again - they never answer their phone. I have been calling daily - still no answer. On the chat, they told me I should drive there to find out (around 45 minutes round trip). I strongly recommend going somewhere else. Customer service is non-existent. I will also be filing a complaint with HP - they should remove them as an authorized service center. I've used this company on 3 occasions and have been fully satisfied. That being said this was all before the pandemic. I made an appointment online in the store I used before, got a confirmation email and when I got there they were closed!!!! I went online to find another store which said it was open and when I got there it was coming soon!!!! Needless to say I was not happy. I called the main number and got a very helpful person who made me an appointment for a store 30 minutes away. I dropped off my phone at 11 am and was told it would be about 4 hours. I called at 4 pm and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes. I went back to the store and it wasn't touched despite them telling me it was almost ready!!!!! I then made an arrangement to bring it back the next day and they did it in an hour. I understand about staffing and lack of open locations, but I was most upset about driving back and forth for nothing. The staff was pleasant, but a little overwhelmed. Because it was later in the day I understood and he suggested that I make an appointment and come back the next day if I didn't want to leave the phone. I brought my phone in for a thin green line up the middle of my screen and came out with a factory reset phone with no back-up or apps. They had to order a new screen (none in stock). ETA - 3-5 days. 10 days later (Wed) I called (because they will never call you) and they said the part was in. Brought phone in on Wed afternoon expecting it to be done by Thursday morning. I called around noon on Thursday and was told the part had JUST arrived and will be ready before they close at 7pm. I called several times on Thursday for an ETA as I live 30 minutes away and needed time to get there before they closed. Finally had a manager call me and said they were having trouble with the Samsung server. I was assured he would stay until it was fixed and I would have my phone on Friday with everything backed-up. Well, I finally got my phone on Friday but it appears no one had a clue about the back-up. So I went from getting a new screen to a phone (that I use for work) that had nothing at all on it.
