This is definitely a takeout spot, with two table tops and a small waiting area and front counter. However, this small place packs a big punch! They have a pretty extensive menu, which includes of variety of both jerk and Curry options as well as oxtails. They also have patties and several desserts. I ended up ordering the combo curry goat and oxtail platter with rice and peas, plantains and then a beef Patty and a slice of Red Velvet cake. I thought the food was really well done, well, seasoned, and excellent in terms of quality and quality. The patties were equally authentic and had the adequate amount of meat filling you would want. The only criticism was the red velvet, which I didn't think was legitimate Red Velvet, but rather red cake mix with a cream cheese icing. That being said, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't authentic Red Velvet. Service was also prompt and helpful with no more than a 7 to 8 minute weight from start to finish. Overall, I would definitely rate this as one of the better restaurants I have had a chance to enjoy in Savannah so far. Looking forward to another visit!

Sold once again in August and kept the name Saffron. The restaurant was empty except for one guest. It's in a large shopping center next to i95 on Gateway Blvd. Menu has changed to include more Indian cuisine dishes. However, due to the lack of customers, some items from the menu are not available, as explained by our waiter. The food is excellent. Well prepared and seasoned. We ordered two Chicken Tikka, vegetables samosas and garlic Naan. The beer Taj was cold and good. The samosas were delicious served with tamarind and mint sauces. They came in plastic containers. The Chicken Tikka came sizzling, large chunks of chicken breast, perfectly seasoned and juicy. This is what they need to improved and do better. Items should be available if it's listed on the menu, the sauces should have been served in ceramic or containers other than plastic take out. Basmati Rice is a staple in all Indian restaurants and served with the dishes. We had to ask for it, and only one small bowl was offered. Other than that the food is good. The service is fine too. Roan was our waiter and was attentive.

I love Mediterranean food, no matter where from, and know that every type is just a little different. We started with a shepherd's salad and server, without asking, had it split in the kitchen. So nice and thoughtful. The salad had great flavor and my husband and I loved it. We would have both preferred slab feta or even crumbled feta instead of shredded feta. Personal preference but we still loved it and we could taste the feta, so it wasn't a deal breaker. My husband has the lamb. He loved it. It wasn't a plate full of rice, which he also appreciated. The pricing was reasonable and the lamb was cooked perfect. I had the Falafal sandwich. I would have preferred tahini vs tzatziki but it was tasty. The Falafal was a little mushy for my palate but still good. They came with steak fries - my favorite kind of fry! We ended with the baklava. Every baklava we have ever had is different and we LOVED it. I was so full and was only going to have 1 bite, but that wasn't my story. Our server was amazing. She was friendly and helpful. She asked where we were from and recommended a few restaurants in South Florida for us to try. The restaurant can be fancy or casual - your choice.
