I went in for stomach pains and was told it's constipation I went to the ER the next day and was told my gallbladder had to be removed. The gallbladder was perforated and gangrenous which meant that the organ was dying or dead. I could have died. Luckily I didn't Communicated that my veins are difficult for the blood draw and I wanted the use of an ultrasound machine to find my veins. They insisted the team is very experienced. Poked me once and couldn't find my veins. Ended up using the ultrasound machine Makes me wonder how competent their team is read more

Do not go here. Total ripoff. I had the same experience other reviewers have documented. I took my 15 year old daughter here when I noticed a scratch on her knee looked infected, while driving to school, and this was the closest Urgent care. The visit with a PA lasted less than 5 minutes and an antibiotic ointment was prescribed. We were in and out in under 10 minutes. I gave my insurance card and I have a high deductible United Healthcare HSA plan. I later received 2 bills for $196 and $421 for a total of $617. Their own description of the visit on the bill states "outpatient visit with low level of medical decision making, if using time 30 minutes or more". Stay away from this place, it's a complete ripoff off. read more

And we went Friday for my second urology appointment and it was amazing. The nurses were nice. The receptionist we check in ! The hospital was so big and clean. It was not noisy at all. The patients were nice. The doctors was nice. Even the nurse practitioner I seen was very very nice. nurse practitioner Cindy Tran was nice. She was very professional even though it was my second visit there I enjoyed my appointment. I rather enjoyed my second appointment. I will never say it first, but I had a experience overall and I enjoyed the cafeteria the gift shop. It looks like a little mini mall to me has little restaurants. Little gift shops looks nice and clean and spacious and the doctors make you feel comfortable and I will recommend come here to friends and family! read more

I was in the new hospital 3 months ago for surgery. I had to stay in the hospital due to pain management. While I was there I went through something absolutely horrific & no woman should ever have to endure!! DO NOT GO THIS HOSPITAL FOR ANY CARE NEEDS! YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE IT! This is the cleanest and biggest UCI urgent care I've ever been to. You do NOT have to pay for parking to use the urgent care. You can park in the structure and it's free. Just keep your ticket to scan on your way out. This urgent care isn't busy at all and there are some really experienced staff here! Highly recommend coming. The facility is very nice, new, and pristine. The doctors are very thorough and all the staff is nice. You will definitely get great care here BUT be warned that they (like all UCI) charge separately for services and the facility. So essentially you get charged twice. Nice facility - new, clean, but otherwise no different than any other urgent care in the area with the exception of the absolute gauging their billing dept will do because of the "UCI Health" banner. I woke up on a Sunday with some sharp foot pain that got worse as the day went on so I decided to visit a clinic around 6pm. My usual Urgent Care (the exceptional Newport Center Urgent Care down by Fashion Island) was closed so I decided to try the new UCI Urgent Care. The staff was friendly, doctor was attentive but didn't really do much other than take an x-ray and a few guesses at the problem, and sent me on my way with anti-inflammatories. Nothing different than what I would've expected from my usual urgent care, who would've charged me $ 50 for my copay and around $ 25 or so for the x-ray, after my insurance was applied. However, UCI's billing department seems to be run by the same people who run Vegas casinos, because shortly after I got a bill that was comprised of the most asinine billing I've ever seen for an urgent care visit. I should mention that I paid my $ 50 co-pay at the time of the appointment, and a few weeks later got a bill for $ 20 for the x-rays. No problem. A month later I got another bill for $ 250 which covered a clinic visit fee of $ 347 and a "diagnostic fee" (I assume for my x-ray) of $ 711. After insurance paid their share of this ripoff, UCI wants me to pay $ 250 on top of the $ 50 copay $ 20 x-ray charge that I would've paid at any other urgent care. Absolute insanity. Bottom line - ignore the shiny new clinic and go to one of the many other competent urgent care clinics in the area who's billing dept won't charge you mini-bar pricing for a simple clinic visit. Will never use these or any other medical services under the sketchy UCI umbrella. read more

I like my Doctor, but had to wait 51 minutes after the nurse took my vitals. I've been here several times and to the Orange location several times too. Every time I've had to wait a long time, once it was an hour and forty five minutes for my exam. read more

I don't even know how to start because the care I received here was so phenomenal. I had to go in today (mother's day) for palpitations and all of the staff were incredible warm, kind, and reassuring. From the front desk and tech to Nurse Jacky and NP Phil they made sure that I was cared for. This is how all urgent cares should be run, giving the staff all of the tools that they need to rule out anything emergent and make a diagnosis. They were able to do an EKG, run labs, and even get an ultrasound of my heart to make sure I was ok. Phil took the time to explain all of the parts of my heart and reassure me that everything looked good. If my family or I ever need urgent care again we will definitely be coming to this location. Appointment went fine, very quick routine prescription refills. The doctor was in-network with my insurance. After the appointment, I received a bill for almost $800 in addition to what my insurance paid. Beware of the incredible cost of going to a UCI doctor! This is the second time this happened to me. Less than a week old, I unfortunately get to see what the urgent care room look like. I get to the front desk and greeted by a a person who is kind. She lets me know they will get me into a room shortly. Dr had two patients before me. I'm waiting for a bit nothing too crazy but longer than I expected. Finally get seen and they take me back from xray. They have new equipment and everything is top notch. As expected X-rays come back fine, I need and MRI. Thy don't have imaging for my knee and the physician recommended my general practitioner order one. I'm discharged and await my next appointment. read more

The first doctor was great, examined our child and said everything was probably fine. Minutes later, another staff member came in, asking questions from a liability checklist. On a prior visit here, the physician was calm, clear, and let us help guide the decision. The care itself can be excellent, but administrative handoffs and liability culture make the experience uneven. If you visit, a few things help. Use the portal, keep notes, double-check records, and correct errors immediately. That helps out everyone. Bring another adult if you can to help clear up misunderstandings as they happen. Establishing a record with the clinic beforehand helps too. Staff seem more comfortable when they have prior visits to reference. read more

That was the best urgent care experience I had. I went there today with blood in urine. I wasn't sure about the front desk but I think she was just trying to get paperwork done before I go in. I got in very quickly. I interacted with 3 people when I got in the exam room(I believe all were nurses) They were nice, kind and very very helpful. Since this beautiful new clinic has opened, I have visited the urgent care a couple of times. In both cases, it was the best experience. I easily drove right in to the parking lot and parked in a covered parking spot. I walked a short distance to the clinic. Both times, it was not crowded, and I was seen within 10 minutes. At one visit, I saw an MD, another a PA. In both cases, it was a thorough exam and consult. I received my prescription at the local pharmacy within the hour. This is a modern, clean (including restrooms!) and beautiful space where you not only get excellent expertise and care, but also empathy and kindness. Love that UCI Health is in Irvine! read more

I was taken in very quickly, nurse and receptionist were polite and understanding, but when I was seen by the doctor it felt as though she did not take me seriously. I waited for 30+ minutes in the room waiting for the doctor--only to be told that she left, and they had to "switch doctors" and that no one knew what she was supposed to do with me. They ASKED ME what the doctor told me she was gonna do. After that I was sent home and told there was nothing to do. After getting home, I review my message received, and it shows that the Doctor didn't even write down the symptoms I told her, and even wrote that I didn't have the symptoms I told her I did. If you're looking for anything to actually get done I wouldn't come here again. Nice people though. read more

So expensive for less than 5min visit. Had ear infection issue which caused hearing problems so doctor gave me prescription for antibiotics. I wasn't expecting over $500 for this. It's urgent care.
