I should've taken advantage of this place much sooner. With discounted tickets to theme parks, movie theaters, shows, sporting events, and even the Catalina Express, the Central Ticket Office offers great deals. Located close to the sports pavilion, and about a 5-10 minute walk from the hospital, it's easy to get to and very easy to find with the signage. I went in the mid-afternoon and there was no line. Why get ripped off by Ticketmaster when you can pick up your ticket directly from the source? I can't stand the ridiculous fees the agencies charge you just so you can attend a concert or sporting event. I picked up my tickets for UCLA football and paid face value. You just drive down Westwood Blvd. and turn left into lot 8 and park on the upper level. You do have to pay for parking but it's still cheaper than Ticketmaster and UCLA gets the money rather than a middleman. The only downside is the traffic on the 405 and on Wilshire Bl. I would try to go between 11 and 2 when traffic is just bad rather than insane. GO BRUINS!!! This ticket office offers many discounted theme park tickets for students AND the public. They sell tickets for movie theaters, theme parks, bus cards, UCLA events, etc. However, they no longer sell Disneyland tickets. The customer service is very satisfying. I've been helped by many window employees such as Valentina, Cindy, and Danielle. They definitely know what they're doing and are very quick with helping customers. I've also been helped by their phone employees and they have always been able to help me get the tickets I want. They open their phone lines and windows exactly at 10am. I honestly did not know of this place until my winter quarter of freshman year. The tickets for various events are extremely great deals as a student. I always go there to get tickets for most of the UCLA events that require them, such as the "My Last Lecture", "Spring Sing", cultural nights, among many others. Seriously, I didn't know this place even exists, but after searching through places, you should buy tickets here! If you are driving with two people, just one person to go get the ticket, because it is not worth a buying a parking ticket, unless you are going to go around UCLA. It is really inside the campus. We had to ask several people for the place. When we finally find it, we were afraid that people will check the student ID for purchasing. Super helpful, lines can get crazy for huge events like Spring Sing but they're definitely very fast! It's much faster though, if everyone just pays with the exact cash or by card, of course. And I love that the CTO sells discounted - barely, but it still helps - tickets to Disneyland. Also, for the UCLA football rooter bus, you have to buy your bus tickets with cash and by the Thursday before the game. Here is the good place to stop by. At the same time, when I stopped by here before the class semester starts in the afternoon, there was only one person waited on the line. Super fast and convenient. The purpose for them to set a time limit and open Mon-Fri: 10-4pm is mainly for students who studies on campus or lives around UCLA community; otherwise, everyone all wants to buy a cheaper ticket even the one who is already having a job and not a student anymore. If you can't make this time frame or don't want to be part of the unlucky persons, waiting on this such stupid line, then the best way is to go onto their websites to purchase the ticket by using your UCLA ID / email address to log in (if you have). In a safe, easily accessible part of campus just behind Pauley. The lunch line gets pretty long, so try to come around 11:30am to beat the rush. I like that it's walking distance from the UCLA Medical Center shuttle stop. They have good deals on bus passes for students and employees. They should open more windows during lunch. I just bought a Disneyland 1 day, 1 park pass for $90 ($92 on disneyland's website). I suggest you do some research before you decide on where to buy your tickets. The only down side is you have to pay in CASH (they charge you 75 cents if you use debit cards). It's super convenient being able to pick up tickets from a location on campus. I'm always leery of getting tickets I've ordered from ticketmaster/live nation/etc through regular mail; my mail is often "lost" at the apartment address I use. So for a few extra bucks a ticket I pick them up in person at my leisure from this location. (You can usually pick up tickets at any retail location, but this one's on my campus so it's super easy). UCLA CTO is an office which sells tickets to events which are often on evenings and weekends. Then why isn't it open evenings and weekends? Over my five years at UCLA I have been stymied by them numerous times because they are not open weekends or after 4. Furthermore, the wait is usually excessive, especially around graduation time. There are eight or ten ticket windows, usually one or two are staffed. Going there feels like going to the DMV. Yes there are discounts and yes there are cheap disneyland tickets and whatever but there needs to be some sort of easily selectable online or mail option. read more

Only giving an additional star because ***some*** of the employees here are very sweet and helpful. If it weren't for them, then this would be a 1-star review. There are student employees here with serious attitude problems who need to stop working in customer service immediately. I witnessed an employee roll her eyes and then turn to her co-workers to make rude gestures about a guest who had approached her to ask a question. The guest did not notice this because she had already walked away. Unfortunately for that employee, I was the next person and line and saw it all happen. :) How do you have the audacity to act like that in front of a line of customers? Unprofessional and obviously not a nice way to represent UCLA. Disrespectful employees like that are the reason most people stick to online ticketing services. I'm sure my computer screen won't roll its eyes at me when I need to buy tickets for something. Besides this incident, there is a major lack of communication at CTO that needs to be improved. I hope they hire friendlier and more patient employees who actually know how to work well with the public. read more
