Uffda Donuts recently opened up in the Blaine area. My first time there, and was excited to see the variety of donuts! There were cake donuts and cronuts too. Fun flavors like Apple pie donut and Pumpkin pie donuts were there. They have a few breakfast sandwiches as well. We had the drip coffee and donuts. The donuts were fresh tasting, not dry, but definitely overly sweet, for those that like that. The coffee was hot and has more of the bitter flavor rather than light or smooth. There were 2 large groups sitting and many coming in and out. Looks like it's a busy place. The staff was average and took care of everything needed. It wasn't above or beyond. They have multiple tables and some bar seats facing the window. They also sell full bottles of monin drink syrups to take home along with bagged tea from Tea Source. Fun place for a sweet stop and coffee. Can't wait to try the many flavors. They also have vegan donuts available on Thursdays and Sundays. Plenty of available parking as it's part of a strip mall.

I'm excited the donut shop finally opened. We've been checking it out every time we drive by. I went on Sunday morning and there was a small line outside. However more people inside. Cute dining area, lots of donuts variety to choose from and specialty coffees and drinks. Donuts are delicious, soft and sweet. The guava filling and mango filling were also delicious.

I went to the mall for a quick lunch on a weekday and saw that there were 3 Hmong establishments…read morejust like the ones at the Hmong Mall. I was delighted. This one had the most people at the counter, so I thought it must be good. I ordered the Khao Poo noodle, which is a spicy noodle dish. It looked good on the menu. $14.99 is par for the course now for a noodle bowl. I had to order from the kiosk, but the receipt spit out on the other side of the counter. I had to go and ask for it. There was one guy working the kitchen and the counter, while there was another lady on the bubble tea side. I thought that was strange as it all looked like one business. I started to notice that the people standing around were all waiting for food. Well it took 20 minutes for my noodle to appear. So much for a quick lunch. Apparently because of their receipt print out not being available, there was another customer who mistook my Khao Poo with his. Well I showed him my receipt and he backed off. (Pro tip: get your receipt!!!) The noodle bowl looked very appetizing. I was excited. After taking the photo though, I dug into it and discovered that the noodles were in a clump, like they were just taken out of the fridge and poured the broth on top without stirring it. Well cold noodles with not boiling broth makes for a lukewarm bowl of noodles. I asked for pig's blood, which I paid extra for and were absent. The rice noodles were overcooked and they started to fall apart in earnest. However, the bowl had a lot of flavor. But the execution and temperature were not on point. Their saving grace was a surprise. Since there wasn't much protein in the noodle bowl, I was still hungry. I went and ordered a Durian Smoothie. The lady confirmed that it was real fruit in the smoothie. Well they were really proud of it: $8.95 for a smoothie!! Well I didn't care. I cannot remember the last time I had a real durian smoothie with real durian. When it came, OMG!! This was insane. I had died and gone to heaven. So 3 stars for the food and service, and 5 stars for the smoothie, so we land at 4 stars. Maybe get a burger or pho next door, and get the smoothie here.
