A class action one so I thought this place was going to be packed because everybody gets disrespected at Walmart, you feel me? Anyway, they close around 8:00 p.m. if I remember correctly. I called at 7:30 or so and asked if they would be able to help me out with my big baller check. They said sure and asked how much it was. That's when I got nervous. A lot of people and or check cashing spots aren't used to people that handle this amount of money like myself. I let her know that it was about $21 and change and she said oh okay yeah come on in. The relief I felt was similar to the time I left the Jerry Springer show studio after finding out that the baby was my best friends instead of mine. That is probably one of the best moments of my life. Anyway, going back to the phone call. I was greeted with the angelic welcoming warm voice of a young lady named Maria. She told me her name and I thought it was talking to Aaliyah. She really rocked the boat when she told me that the check amount wasn't anything but a number I'm just kidding none of that happened but she was very professional and welcoming over the phone. So I showed up 45 seconds later drunk as hell jk again but yeah it was the smoothest a check cashing transaction has ever went. She was fast friendly and professional. I would say more but I'll just say that the customer service was exceptional. Maria was the best and she's a dodger fan so extra brownie points for her. I love you, Maria!

They were giving me a rate I couldn't refuse, I was told over the phone to do it online, but since this was my first ever loan I truly wanted to go in person so I can ask questions, and make sure I'm doing everything correctly! The person who helped me over the phone, informed me about a service they had which was CarScouts! I told her I already had a car, but I would love to hear from them since this car might get sold at any moment! John from CarScouts then called me and was giving me all the information about them, at this point I still didn't start the loan process, but I knew that I wanted to go with Southland! He told me to stop by this location in Downey and to speak with Edgar, he said he would be there and could answer all the questions I had. So I went in and immediately I sat down with Edgar and we instantly clicked! He made the process extremely quick and painless! I am very appreciative of him for helping me with all the questions I had! The car that I planned on getting was sold, so I picked up the phone and called John from CarScouts, and in the matter of a couple of hours we had a car ready to go for the next day! I purchased the vehicle on Jan 21, and I'm extremely thankful for both Edgar and John, and especially thankful to Southland Credit Union for helping me in this chapter of my life. I hadn't been added to my husbands account yet so out of caution the bank returned my direct deposit to my work. Before I had the change to ask about it at all-he noticed and jumped into action to help. She appeared annoyed when I asked her a question about my account and adding my husband's name to an account that I had there. I also had my 4 year old with me at the time. During the course of our interaction at one point, and did not hear when she requested my account number, as I got distracted by my child for a second. She stated, in a very rude tone, " I have asked you for your account, a few times." which was a LIE. I confirmed my account number to her, and she responded with attitude, restating the account numbers, for confirming. Her tone came across as that of annoying and she did not smile. CSU CALIFORNIA, If you are in a customer service position, please hire courteous employees, that are not disrespectful, and treat the members with appropriate customer service. What is the point of hiring people who obviously do not have good customer service and make the members feel unappreciated. My interaction with her was not pleasant and I can receive proper customer service at another credit union.
