Luckily, the realtor who helped us with the sale of our San Jose home had previously worked with Reni Rose. She knew her well and had very high praises for her many years' experience in Pasadena area real estate as well as her congeniality. Before we made our final move, we visited Pasadena to get a better feel for the local real estate market. Reni gave us a couple of grand tours, driving us around and talking to us about the different areas of the city and neighboring suburbs. Reni showed a great deal of patience and persistence in presenting us with various options of places to live. Her knowledge of the Pasadena area and all its various neighborhoods made it easier for us to decide which area best fit our needs. We wanted to be no further than a twenty-minute radius of our son's house, while having easy access to grocery stores, theaters, hiking trails, medical facilities. We decided to rent a place in a neighborhood that attracted us and Reni emailed us weekly listings in the areas we were considering. When a house interested us, Reni would preview it, then would call us to describe and discuss it with us. We attended many open houses with Reni, and she provided excellent input to our decision making. Our search process continued for more than six months. We seriously considered eight or ten houses, including two that we made bids on and had inspected, only to finally reject them due to the high cost of repair. Throughout this long process Reni remained dedicated to finding a house that satisfied our needs, and did not in any way pressure us to compromise on our choices. She was especially knowledgeable about a wide range of neighborhoods, which was tremendously helpful since we knew very little about Southern California and since our search included a large number of different towns and neighborhoods. Finally, we found a house we loved and that was within a price range that fit our budget. There were other bidders and Reni suggested an innovative bidding method that proved successful in getting us the house. In addition, she provided us with helpful contacts with inspectors, foundation specialists, and contractors. As a final touch, Rene gave us a house-warming present of a substantial gift certificate for a local home décor shop. We very much appreciated the gesture, which was indicative of her thoughtfulness and warmth.
