According to my oncologist, it was a random mutation of the cells, whatever that meant and that could happen to anyone my age. So, you mean shit happened? Yes! He reluctantly agreed without going into a maze of medical mumbo jumbo. That was 2 years ago when I started with low grade fever and stomach discomfort. My primary care doc, Dr. Morse, referred me to Dr. Arifuddin, a respected board certified gastroenterologist and hepatologist in Santa Rosa. I'd not be around today if not for these 2 docs. Dr Ariffudin was the first to detect my cancer after an ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography) and a biopsy of my bile duct and pancreatic cells. A stent was put in and without going into details; this helped me to prolong my life for 2 years and of course with the help of chemo and radiation. The low-grade fever and stomach discomfort returned a month ago. There is such a thing, as stent migration and it got lost in my stomach. Dr. Arriffudin was back to my rescue and performed another ERCP on me by putting in a spanking new stent. He is very skillful at what he is doing and probably the only GI doc that can do this north of the GG Bridge up to Oregon. He is very caring and adorable with a heart of gold. Although I know there are no guarantees the new stent can prolong my life any much more that it did, but it has sure got rid of my fever and discomfort. I now consider myself so blessed. A special shout out goes to Dane Shoemaker, Dr. Arrifuddin's capable Certified Nurse Practitioner, who was just as cordial and knowledgeable to fill in. Without any hesitation, go see Dr. Ariffuddin for any of your digestive problems. That would include colonoscopy too!

The first thing that was noticeable when I came into the office is how clean and orderly it is. There are two waiting rooms with plenty of seating. Bottles of hand sanitizer are located in several places. I was greeted by his very nice office assistant, who quickly and efficiently attended to myself and other patients. Wait time to be seen was minimal. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Gherini. He is a kind, nice man who is easy going, personable and attentive. He was matter-of-fact to my need and although my injury is minor, I felt respected, cared for and given a straight-forward positive prognosis. I highly recommend Dr, Gherini and am thrilled to know that Ukiah has a top-notch Orthopedic Surgeon, Upon arriving home after my appointment, I called friends of mine, who are in need of Orthopedic care and encouraged them to seek his excellent care.

During the approximately six months she stayed there, she experienced three separate falls while under their care. After the second fall, she suffered significant bruising across the left side of her face that lasted for weeks, and our family was deeply concerned about the seriousness of her injuries. Following her third fall, her condition declined rapidly, and she passed away three days later. Our family is devastated and heartbroken by what happened. We entrusted this facility with her care and safety during a vulnerable time in her life. We believe there were serious concerns regarding fall prevention, supervision, and communication with our family throughout her stay. I am sharing our experience because families deserve to ask questions, stay involved, and carefully monitor the care their loved ones receive in rehabilitation and nursing facilities. I hope the facility takes concerns like these seriously and thoroughly reviews its policies and procedures to help prevent other families from experiencing a similar tragedy. To the staff and administration: I urge you to examine what happened during my mother's care and make resident safety your highest priority. I write this as my personal experience and opinion based on what my family witnessed.
