The gal that worked with me was very conversant as well. The absolute WORST nail salon! They mismatched my color giving me a burgundy purple instead of bright red color that I asked for. I mentioned this to the tech and she tried to say it was the lighting. I asked them to redo the color, obviously not happy at all. Not one person apologized for my time or frustration. The new tech was completely rude. What happened to customer service!?? I had received a paraffin wax the first time and then the acetone dried out my skin and they asked me to PAY for another paraffin. Never again. Worst nail salon by FAR! NEVER again! read more

I went yesterday for a fill and Alice was my nail tech. First, the way this place up charges you for everything is deplorable. I asked to refill my nails with a darker pink based and was told it was an additional charge ti change the color. What? I was charged an additional $20 to draw white tips on my nails and an additional $15 for a polka dot design that was sub par at best. I told Alice that Steven and Keith usually take good care of me and she rudely suggested that I make an appointment with them. I remained quiet. Then, I got a gel color change on my toes and it was horrible!! Needless the say she didn't use enough coats, the work was messy and I could see through the color. I like this location of Luxx as everyone here is very friendly. It is always busy but I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes to get service (they also take appointments). My nail techs do a nice job and listen to what I ask. They also fix anything I don't like. There are a bunch of price ranges so you can get a pedi for $25 or $125 the choice is yours. I like the one that comes with the shoulder massage. When I want a nice treat I give myself a couple of hours to relax here. read more

I unfortunately work till 6pm off University and can only come do my nails afterwards, I still like to be as quick as possible but given my job is farther from the Luxx location I try my best. (Usually make it around 6:20pm). I've been told before when I came around that time that there's not an issue and they usually don't turn anyone away till around 6:30-6:40pm. However when I went in today I got told they cut off all guests coming in.. I was told maybe just my nails then when I said I wanted acrylic, I was told nevermind It's a shame when everywhere closes early and you want to treat yourself when you can and the place you thought allowed people till 6:30, wouldn't let you when you came at 6:20 for a service.. turning away a paying customer..not a great look. The problem today was the guy doing my pedi talked way to Much to coworkers and didn't pay attention to what he was doing . I had to tell him he couldn't hurt me so he would rub harder on legs . He was nice but come on rub and work on the bottom and heels of feet . Very disappointed once again . Also employees need to put down their damn phones and pay attention to giving a wonderful pedi . Unfortunately I will not be back here after my last couple of visits it's been downhill and disappointment. For one my nails are really short and they barely have to file down to shape my nails bc it's already down to my skin but I get charged a $5 cut down and shape? When I already come in with square short nails just for them to barely shape?? I'm sorry but that's ridiculous, I would understand if I had them long and they had to cut down and give the a different shape but I don't. Then they have the worst selection of gel colors (only like 6 books and they are repeat books nothing different they claim they don't carry DND either) so that color selection is limited a ton. Then when I finally pick a color my tech always tells me they're out this isn't the first time it's happened so I end up picking a color I don't really want. Onto the actual service, I asked for glitter and when it comes time to apply it she also tells me oh it's dried out we don't have anymore. So you guys only carry one of your nail polish?? Seriously? So AGAIN I couldn't leave with the nail design I wanted which was a glitter tip. At this point it was too late to go back she had already did the polish on my nails and I wish I could've went to a different salon. My usual salon was booked so I only come here if I really need them done. Then I tell her it's fine no glitter then even though that's the design I came in mind. She then says yeah sorry "less work for me" and laughs. I get maybe it wasn't meant to be a bad joke but how can you say less work for you?? I'm paying for the extra design anyways and it's quite rude when I'm leaving dissatisfied already because I'm paying for what I didn't want and had to settle for other colors. She was nice but I didn't appreciate that comment. She was so rough and quick with the drill that I still had pieces of polish that weren't properly placed and on my skin looking messy. This review is in no way a reflection of the service I received from my nail tech, Tina, who is professional, friendly, and wonderful at what she does. Unfortunately, the business practices of the owners have given me serious pause about returning. I had a nail and pedicure appointment scheduled and arrived about 45 minutes early because I wanted my existing nail set soaked off. Upon arrival, I was told that my nail tech had called out sick. I completely understood and had no issue rescheduling my nail appointment for the following day (Saturday). Since I was already there, I proceeded with my pedicure and, thinking logically and proactively, requested to have my nails removed so I wouldn't need to do it the next day. A man named Stephen, who I believe is one of the owners, agreed and sent a tech over to remove them. At no point was I told there would be an additional or different charge. When it was time to pay, my bill was significantly higher. I was then informed that nail removal is $15 if done separately, but only $5 if done the same day as a nail service. Essentially, I was penalized because their employee called out sick -- something completely outside of my control. This was never disclosed upfront, even though I made it clear I would be returning within 24 hours. Fast forward to Saturday, and I received another call stating that once again, the tech would be out. While I understand people get sick, the lack of communication, transparency, and consideration for the customer is unacceptable. Instead of absorbing reasonable inconveniences as a business, the cost and frustration are passed directly onto the consumer. To add insult to injury, I was also charged $20 for gel polish that I personally supplied because they didn't carry the color I use. What I've learned is that this establishment will nickel-and-dime customers at every opportunity, regardless of circumstances. The service consistency and communication are a hit or miss, and unfortunately, honesty and fairness seem to be lacking at the management level. If you enjoy gambling with service inconsistencies and unexpected charges, this may be the place for you. However, if you value quality work, transparency, and reasonable business practices -- especially when issues are beyond the customer's control -- I highly recommend avoiding this establishment. read more

would like to make you aware of an incident that left me feeling deeply troubled, humiliated, and disrespected at this salon on Friday, September 5th, 2025, at 9:00 AM. I had an appointment scheduled with Jessica, but due to an emergency I was asked to return later. Since my schedule did not allow for that, I asked if Lee was available, as he had previously done my nails well. I showed him an inspiration photo of the style I wanted, and he began working. While he was doing my nails, I noticed an issue when my "dry" hand got stuck in my hair, requiring me to pull it free. He dismissed my concern, stating the product he used was sticky. Still, I allowed him to continue. When he finished, I calmly told him, "Lee, I don't like my nails." I was not disrespectful, nor did I raise my voice. I simply explained that something was off and they didn't look right on my hands. He asked what I wanted to do, and I began suggesting we could take the design off. Before I could finish, he cut me off and said: "No, what you can do is go to another salon and let them do your nails because I'm not doing them." At that moment, another customer and I exchanged a look of confusion, as she too seemed shocked by what was happening. I then picked up my belongings and went to the front desk, expecting to see a manager. Instead, I was met by Lee again, and that is when he told me, "Don't ever come back here. And if you do come back, don't ever ask for me, because I will never do your nails again. So just go. Leave." He even made a dismissive hand gesture as if to shoo me away. By this time it was around 11:30 AM and the salon was busy, so this was said in front of everyone. I simply said "okay" because I did not want to make a scene or allow it to appear as though I was the problem. After leaving, I called back because I wanted to speak with a manager and explain what happened. At first I was told the manager wasn't there. When I asked when I could call back, I was then told the manager was actually on vacation but that someone else could help me. As I tried to explain what happened, I was overwhelmed with emotion--I was crying, confused, and could barely get my words out because I still didn't understand what triggered Lee to react the way he did just because I said I didn't like my nails. The person on the phone apologized and told me that Lee had no authority to put anyone out of the shop. I also told them, "I know you have cameras. If you think I'm lying, please review the cameras so you can see exactly what happened with your own eyes. I don't want to be labeled a liar." The person assured me, "No, ma'am, I believe you. Just come back at a later time and we can get someone else to do your nails." But why would I return when I'm sure Lee has already told his side of the story to his wife, who also works there, creating an awkward and hostile environment. Normally in this salon, they often speak their own language, and I refuse to sit there wondering if I'm being mocked, disrespected, or painted as a problem behind my back. At least Lee spoke in English that day and made it clear how he felt. I will take his advice and never come back. I was stunned by the escalation, especially since I remained calm and respectful the entire time. I always tip generously--above 20%--and expected at the very least to be treated with professionalism. I strongly believe that if a customer of a different ethnicity had voiced the same concerns, the situation would have been handled differently. The way I was treated felt racially motivated, disrespectful, and humiliating. Customers deserve kindness, dignity, and professionalism, and I will not settle for less. If there is any doubt about how this incident unfolded, I encourage management to review the cameras, which will confirm exactly how I was treated. And finally, the reason I keep emphasizing that I was calm, respectful, and never raised my voice is because as an African American woman, we are too often painted as being the problem--"hard to work with" or "difficult to deal with." That is the furthest thing from the truth, not only for me but for many women I know. I do not want it to be implied that I caused the problem, when the reality is that the way I was handled and treated was the actual problem. To future customers: please be cautious about where you spend your money. No one deserves to be dismissed, disrespected, or degraded when paying for a service. read more

So I booked this on a Friday around 11 and everything that we asked for was understood. I knew that my sister was going to engaged that weekend so I had to sneak in a nail appt for her. They were fast and very detailed. I was nervous about them rushing because it was a busy afternoon and I couldn't have her nails looking crazy. It's a very spacious salon so I enjoyed not being squeezed in between people. I also liked how the itemized the receipt because I like to see where my money is going because that's super important. I debated on sharing my review because I shared my concerns with one of staff members however my daughter brought it to my attention again the pain in her thumb. I informed the tech they cut her yet they only acknowledge what tool they used to perform service . I was also not satisfied them double dipping in cost. I went for a gel builder full and was charged a full set price because the tech changed the color . Had I known the color was not the same color I had on previously i would have allowed him to polish my nails the incorrect color. Outside of charging me $56 instead of 46 for a fill, they also charged me an additional la $5 because I agreed to a cut down. My thing is if you are charging me for a full set price then everything is a new set , color , shape etc yet they did not. When I say I was beyond frustrated, that's putting it mildly. I arrived at 5:30 p.m. and didn't leave until 8:00 p.m. I'd asked for a manicure and dip set with hot wax, specifically with the Cat Eye chrome polish for a wavy look. I made sure in advance that this could be done with dip powder, and they assured me it could. They assigned Bryan to do my manicure, but I got concerned early on. After soaking my nails, he immediately started prepping to add tips. I had to tell him twice that my natural nails are long enough and that I didn't want tips. Then, as he was working on my nails, he began filing, so I reminded him that I wanted my cuticles cut. He said he'd do that after applying the polish, which didn't make sense to me. I also asked him to test the chrome polish on my pinky finger first to make sure it would have the look I wanted. He assured me it would, but as he started on the rest of my nails, I noticed he was making "X" designs - nothing like the wavy pattern shown in the book or what I asked for. It looked terrible. I called the manager over, who instructed Bryan to buff off the chrome and start over. But after he did, it looked even worse than before, and he still hadn't cut my cuticles. When he finished, he applied a clear gel coat and acted as if he was done, so I had to remind him that my manicure included the wax treatment too. By that point, it was late, and I still needed my eyebrows done, so I just told him to forget it. But, it was already 8 p.m., and everyone was ready to leave, myself included. I was so infuriated that I asked for the owner's contact information and told them they'd have to redo my entire set. The manager told me to come back tomorrow, 11/14/24, and they'd redo my nails at no extra charge. I had them put it in writing, so I'll update this review depending on whether or not they honor that promise. read more

When I schedule a nail appointment they're always at least 20 minutes late. More than likely seems to be a scheduling issue? I love Kate and Will but I can't go back due to never being sat on time. I voiced that I had somewhere to be after my nails were done 4 hours before my nail appointment and he assured me I'd be sat on time. I came here on June 26th around 6pm ready to get dip on my nails the nail tech helping me was Kate. She was very rude. I tried to be friendly and make conversation but she just kept rolling her eyes. She kept getting up in the middle of doing my nails and not saying anything as to hey I'll be right back or give me one sec and then she'd be gone or disappear for 5 minutes multiple times. Eventually she gets up and doesn't say anything and sits at the table across from me and starts doing someone else's nails and never comes back. After speaking to the manger all they could tell me was Kate didn't think y'all would get along so she didn't wanna finish your nails. I have gone here several times because it's in my neighborhood right down the road each time I go they rush they try to do my nails while I'm getting my feet done so my nails come out crooked and every time they do my feet it never fails, they clip my skin and cut my toes. I literally have sores on my big toe and my pinky toe from them cutting me, and they always burn my skin when they do the callus cream removal and it's just it's lacking. I give this Nail Salon a hard 4 stars. The salon has has semi-luxe feel to ut. They offer beverages and cater to you while pampering you and making you feel good about spending money there. I got a mani, pedi, and lip & eye wax here. Kenny is good at the actual manicure. His work with cutting, filing, and getting to the cuticles is on point. However, his paint job is okay. I got gel and he started out good. The finished product, well, some of my paint looked like it would chip within a week. It's been a week and my gel paint hasn't chipped. So, I guess my manicure was worth it. Mimi did my pedicure, and eye and lip wax and.. WOOWZERS. She's amazing. She must love her job because she treated me so good. my mom and i visited luxx nail salon and the nail tech i had did wonderful, but the nail tech who did my mom's nails did not listen to her requests and did a terrible job. the talk of pricing was also different because we were not informed of the price of all of the services, only the two gel pedicures when we had two full acrylic sets and two gel pedicures. i confirmed that the price we initially saw was correct and the nail tech said yes. we paid over $300 for both of us in the end and it was disappointing. the nails are too thick and look like they were done a week ago and not 45 minutes ago. tried calling and asking to speak to a manager that's "on vacation" and was told they don't do refunds because my mom and i paid together, even though we have an itemized receipt clearly stating each service along with the price. read more

Each and every person who work at Luxx are professional, personal, and are great at what they do. I really like the concept of a nail "bar" and find it nice to have a glass of red wine while being pampered. Of course other alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages are available. This business is gorgeous which offers an amazingly beautiful interior with the high gloss woodwork, a chandelier to greet you, and, a neon enhanced wall with bottles nestled. I was so disappointed. The bottom of my feet looked the same way they did before I sat in the seat. The tech filed down too hard while removing the old gel and hurt my toe. She didn't do my cuticles or scrub my feet. I called for a refund and was told the could only do $30 because she massage my feet, she rubbed lotion on my feet.
