I found a place in Howard County that is much more no-frills but they get the job done and I like the way they cut my hair. I just can't justify paying two or three times as much money at Alchemy. Also, the parking is stressful at that shopping center, which is not the fault of the Salon but is an aspect of being a customer. So I don't have to deal with that unless of course I'm going to Trader Joe's, which is in the same shopping center.

I called several establishments a few weeks ago to schedule an appt for the Cezanne smoothing treatment, which is formaldehyde-free unlike the Brazilian treatment. The other establishments did not respond to online inquiries (a bad practice) while others had limited weekend booking availability. I was able to schedule an appointment here easily. I arrived to my scheduled appt a few minutes early and my stylist Sam was ready for me. She had Sandra wash my hair before cutting my hair then applying the treatment. The head massage while shampooing was very relaxing. Sandra was sweet and asked me several times while I was there if I wanted anything to drink. They offer complimentary coffee and snacks for patrons which is very unique and thoughtful. Sam was very personable and had a cheerful disposition. We chatted the whole time and she was delightful to talk to. We have a lot in common. That aside, she is skilled at what she does. My hair was sleek and smooth when she was done. They have regular size (not liter) hair care products available for purchase. Also, if you don't have cash to tip, they charge your desired tip amount to your receipt and give you cash in return to give to your stylist. They have thought of everything. I have found my new stylist! So I got my hair done by Teresa and a half ago and it looks great but…read moreit just wasn't me. I was happy with overall the job she did but the color was a little to light. But the overall job was solid. I shared that and she was like come back and I will fix it. So I made an appointment totally expecting to pay for it. She was like uhm the color is free. I was like "say what". She did a great job this is more me, and I really think I am done trying to put color in my hair. She was very happy I gave her the chance to fix it. That to me meant a lot. Most stylists get tuddy when you point out things. Not Teresa she was like ok let me fix it, and she did just that. This is for sure my new salon! She cut it even too, it's a little shorter than I expected. However it will grow back faster that way, plus it's even:) I plan on returning to her to keep my hair right and tight. Per usual the service is always really good, and I enjoy talking to her. Stylists are counselors and don't even realize it lol. My daughter will be visiting soon and I will add pics!
